Option 3

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

Naturalborn of the Void Fight Strategy

Melee Users

Naturalborn of the Void is a cosmic boss that uses movement with devastating arcane power. One of its most common attacks is Sweeping Nebula, where the Boss swings its left hand across the ground, sometimes followed by two swings from its right hands. Each sweep leaves behind a sparkling trail of exploding stars. When you see the first hand start to move, back away quickly or roll through the sweep, staying clear of the trailing explosions. Once the last sweep ends and the stars have popped, there's a brief moment where the Boss remains still, letting you safely run in and get a few hits near its front legs or body.

Spinning Sweep happens when the Boss rises slightly into the air, then twirls while swinging its arms in a wide arc. As it spins, it leaves behind a trail of stars that explode shortly after. This attack is dangerous up close, so when the Boss starts to lift off, roll away and give it space. After it finishes spinning and settles back down, it often pauses to recover, giving you a window to close the gap and strike its limbs or tail safely.

In Star Slam, the Boss floats upward while gathering purple stars into one of its hands. After a short charge, it slams the energy into the ground, creating a powerful area-of-effect blast. As soon as you see the stars forming, back off to avoid the explosion. If you time your dodge correctly and stay just outside the blast radius, you can quickly re-enter the fight and land a few attacks on its side or hind legs before it rises again.

Nebula Shove is a slower move where the Boss's left hand drifts forward, dragging a trail of stars along with it. These stars explode after a short delay. Watch the hand's movement and stay to the opposite side or dodge past it once the hand starts moving. If you remain mobile and avoid the trail, you'll have time to circle around and land a clean combo while the boss resets.

For close-range pressure, the Boss uses Tail Sting, raising its tail above its head with a subtle shaking motion before driving it into the ground three times in quick succession. The best strategy is to keep an eye on the tail when you're behind the boss. When it starts to shake, roll sideways to avoid the strikes. After the third slam, the tail lingers briefly, giving you a perfect opening to get in a few solid hits.

Its most dangerous attack is Cosmic Burst, where the Boss raises its head and forms a glowing purple orb in its jaws. After a delay, it releases a powerful beam that travels in a straight line and causes major damage and knockback. The moment you see its head rise and the orb appear, start moving sideways and prepare to dodge. If you avoid the beam, the Boss is left still for a short time, allowing you to close in and punish with a quick flurry of melee hits before it resumes attacking.

Is it just me or is it nearly impossible to finish astel on most solo noklateo runs? When I was playing solo I would always stop at an evergaol and 1 or 2 field bosses that were quick to deal with, then make a beeline for noklateo, only stopping to fight a black knife assassin and reach the chest on the balcony, and most of the time the rain would come in before I could finish astel off. I only ever manage to beat it by fighting in the rain if its health is low enough, but I almost never have this issue online.

Got a fallingstar beast jaw on a noklateo run and dropped it for our wylder and they refused. Why do people do this?

        • Anonymous

Funny fact, this fight is the only fight where Guardian have a bad roll is actually good for him. Normally, to avoid the gravity waves Astel does beneath themselves, you either have to run away or just tank it, but Guardian has lower endlag on his rolls so he can just spam roll and avoid each pulse

Any tips for the mini version? I thought throwing magic pots is the way, but it seems to be inconsistent for me

            • Quite vulnerable to: stance-breaking spells like that bestial rock throw, spectral lance AoW, pulley crossbow (level 7). Other than that, don't waste your time and go defeat dragonkin etc instead.

              • You can kill this guy before rain reaches you in day 1 if you're quick enough lol. Runes from Astel and passive carried my defeat all nightlords with each nightfarer trophie. Love this guy(except when I die and have to traverse half of the map a 2nd time again)

                • Anonymous

Why is the run back for Astel SO bad? It throws you halfway out of the city when you die, at least 20 seconds to the ass end of the map.

                  • Anonymous

Asked in one round with my team mates how to kill this guy faster and after checking the page i was surprised he had 40% dmg negation to affinitys and 10% to physical. Only bleed/poisen looks good to get him fast down....

Some good ideas to kill him fast (wep/spells?)

                    • Anonymous

Astel, unlike the other 2 shifting earth bosses, is the kind of fight that you really want to start as early as possible on day 2 due to high health and constant movement dragging the fight longer than it should. It should also be noted that it retains the big gravity AOE that lifts you up then slams you down. This does very high damage, capable of one-shotting a Raider at level 11 unless you have lots of defensive buffs and even then it's not guaranteed to save you.

                      • Anonymous

Really annoying to fight in a game where you need to go fast. The only time I killed him, my teammates distracted him while I shoved the Cranial Vessel Candlestand ash of war up its ass.

                        • Anonymous

Can someone confirm the Strong VS and the Negation numbers. If they're just like Astel. Shouldn't it be the other way around instead of in negatives?

                          • I can never seem to beat this boss without running out of time. Teammates want to do way too many detours before heading to the end of the city, and by the time we get to him we only have 1-2 minutes before the circle closes in.
