Grave Warden Duelists Fight Strategy
The Grave Warden Duelists are a trio of gladiator-type enemies scattered throughout the Blacksmith Village, each wielding either dual hammers or a heavy greataxe. Their attack patterns are heavily telegraphed, allowing players to read their attacks, dodge, and punish their long recovery windows. As most of their attacks are focused to the front, players can maintain a position behind each Duelist, as it will be the safest position and will allow them to consistently land attacks.
When facing them in a group, players can coordinate and focus on a single Duelist to quickly overwhelm and eliminate it, or players can also separate and fight each Duelist one-on-one to save time during the run. This can be a challenge to players unfamiliar to the encounter with a single Grave Warden Duelist, but it will be easy to learn as its attacks are straightforward.
A Grave Warden Duelist's HP will be 1/3 of the total health bar, with them dying once their own health bar is depleted. These Grave Warden Duelists can be staggered or knocked down by attacks, allowing players to pressure them and make them vulnerable to backstabs or heavy attacks.
Grave Warden Duelists Attacks & Counters
Greataxe Swing
The greataxe-wielding Grave Warden Duelist swings its axe across from the left side. As soon as the Grave Warden Duelist winds up its axe, players may strafe to the right to reach the rear of the Duelist, or dodge roll towards the slash as it performs the attack.
Greataxe Sling
The greataxe-wielding Duelist starts to spin, then uses the chain of its greataxe to sling it around. Then, it throws the axe from its right, landing mid-range in front of it. Players may distance themselves from the gladiator as it swings its greataxe, then strafe to the right as it performs the final sequence of the attack to avoid taking damage from the throw.
Cyclone
The greataxe-wielding Duelist charges towards a player as it holds its weapon up, then performs two spinning strikes. The player targeted by the Grave Warden Duelist can run away from it as it winds the attack, allowing other party members to attack it from a distance.
Hammer Combo
The hammer-wielding Grave Warden Duelist swings its hammer across, then uses the chain on the second hammer to sling it across twice. Players can dodge roll away from the Grave Warden Duelist during the combo, or stick to its backside to avoid the whole attack sequence.
Hammer Sling
The hammer-wielding Duelist twirls its hammer overhead using the chain, slinging it around in a circular motion. Players can stick to the Grave Warden Duelist as it performs the move, as the overhead sling will hit high. As the chain goes around, players can dodge roll as it hits them to avoid taking damage.
