Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast Combat information

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast Fight Strategy

Melee Users

The Full-Grown Fallingstar beast can prove to be a challenging boss fight for both melee and ranged due to its raw power, deceptively fast movement, and wide array of attacks. Despite its massive size, it can quickly reposition across the arena.

For melee users, you'll need to focus on learning its patterns and timing your dodges. You’ll often find yourself the main focus of the Beast’s aggression. Avoid staying directly in front of it for too long, and instead maintain a safe distance until it commits to an attack. Use this window to bait out its moves, then close the gap and strike during its recovery frames. When the Beast raises its head (often happens when it performs gravity-based moves), if you’re nearby and react quickly, you can sneak in a few hits in.

When you manage to break its poise and stagger it, consider landing a few quick hits before going for the critical strike. This allows your teammates to capitalize on the opening and deal additional damage. Keep in mind that this boss has a balanced mix of close and long-range attacks, some of which have deceptive windups that can catch you off guard if you're not paying close attention.

Watch for tells, and be wary of attacks that sweep across wide areas or erupt from the ground unexpectedly. Later in the fight, giant rocks will spawn in the area, you can use these as cover to block or avoid some of the Beast's more dangerous long-range attacks.

Guardian users: If you steel guard when FSB charges at you, it breaks his poise, allowing for a reposte. It seems to work best when you've equipped a relic that allows shockwaves on successful guards. It's like the secret knockout for Bald Bull in Punchout!

Magic and Ranged Users

As a Magic or Ranged user, your main advantage in this fight is distance. Stay at a safe range and continuously pressure the Beast with spells or arrows while your melee teammates draw its aggro. Make sure you deal consistent damage throughout the fight by spamming spells or arrows, but don’t burn through all your FP or stamina early; this fight is likely to be long and punishing.

Even if you're not the main focus, you should still be careful. Watch the Beast’s patterns closely and anticipate when it might shift its attention to you. The moment it does, be ready to dodge or reposition immediately. Some of its ranged and gap-closing attacks come out quickly and cover a lot of ground.

If the boss starts targeting you directly, loop around arena obstacles like the giant rocks for cover, then reset your position and resume your assault once it’s safe.

Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Gravity Bolt The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast’s mandibles begin to glow purple as it channels energy beneath a target's feet. It will lift its head and summon a small cluster of stone spikes from the ground where the lightning gathers. It repeats this sequence in a nearby spot, then unleashes a final, much larger spike eruption in a wider area. Sprint to avoid the first two spike eruptions. As it prepares the third, immediately back away and create some distance. Time your roll properly to avoid getting clipped.
Tail Sweep The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast charges and slams its tail down, followed by a wide sweeping attack across the ground. Sometimes it can just perform the sweep without the initial tail slam. The sweep also sends out rocks flying, if you get hit, you lose stamina. Anticipate the tail slam as soon as it begins to advance, then be ready for the follow-up sweep.
Bite The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast hops back and turns its left flank toward a target while clicking its mandibles together, then lunges down to bite. If the attack connects, the Beast will clamp down, crushing the target between its mandibles before slamming them into the ground and flinging them away. Dodge right as soon as you see it start to swoop down.
Charge The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast lowers its head and opens its mandibles wide before charging at full speed toward its target. It performs this charge three times in a row. The first two charges are straightforward rushes, but the third ends with the Beast violently shoving its head upward. Run or dodge roll to either side as it charges toward you. If you're confident in your timing and positioning, strike its face with an attack that deals any amount of stance damage to stagger the Beast mid-charge giving you a window to land clean hits.
Beast Roll The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast backs away before leaping into the air and curling into a ball. After a brief hover, it slams down towards a target. As soon as you see it leap, start sprinting in one direction and prepare to dodge roll just about when it hits the ground.
Head Slam The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast winds up before slamming its head directly into the ground, aiming at a specific target. This attack is fast but heavily telegraphed, once you see it raise its head to the side, prepare to dodge roll.
Hind Stomp The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast rears up onto its front legs before slamming its hind legs down in a powerful stomp, typically when a player is positioned behind it. This move can be sudden, so if you’re attacking from behind, be ready to dodge backward or to the side as soon as you see it lift its hindquarters.
Gravitas The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast rises onto its hind legs, then slams down with a burst of purple magic that pulls in any nearby players. Immediately after, it raises its head and summons spikes erupting from the ground around it. Once it rears up and its mandibles begin to glow purple, immediately keep your distance.
Rock Throw The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast jams its head into the ground, then pulls it out, sending a spray of rocks flying forward. Keep an eye on the initial head slam and sprint sideways to avoid getting hit.
Head Swing The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast swings its head in wide arcs, aiming to strike anyone nearby. This attack covers multiple directions, so be ready to dodge roll away quickly or move to a safe distance to avoid getting hit.
Fore Stomp The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast rears up on its hind legs before slamming its front feet down onto the ground. Be ready to dodge roll to the sides or back away quickly to avoid taking damage.
Erupting Spikes The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast rears up on its hind legs before lowering down, surrounded by a purple glow. It then summons purple lightning that marks specific areas on the battlefield where rock spikes will erupt from the ground. Once the Beast rises again on its hind legs and lets out a roar, the marked spots will explode with spikes. This move is heavily telegraphed, giving you enough time to react. Watch for the moment the Beast rises on its hind legs and begins to roar. Time your dodges precisely right as the roar ends to avoid the erupting spikes from the marked zones.
Gravity Ray The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast charges an orb of gravitational magic before releasing a barrage of projectiles that sweep across the arena in a wide horizontal arc. As soon as you see the orb begin to form, start sprinting to avoid the incoming wave, or make use of the rocks around the area for cover.
Reverse Gravity The Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast’s eye glows purple as it raises its head, brightening the surrounding area with a pale glow. After a brief pause, the Beast rears onto its hind legs and unleashes a gravity field that lifts all players within range high into the air before violently slamming them back down. As soon as you notice the glow and the ambient lighting shift, immediately begin sprinting away from the Beast to escape the radius of the attack.

This dogshit boss killed us on a great run in the tower of Great Hollow because he is overtuned and our level 15 gold weapon asses couldn't down him after 5 straight minutes.

If you have a Guardian on your team and he's steel guarding, lead the beast TOWARDS him during its charge. Any decent guardian will have the shockwave on guarding relic and this will instantly stagger the beast. Don't blame the Guardian for not tanking if you're leading enemies away from him

New patches say they reduced ailment resistance for this dude that is IMMUNE to status effects??? If anyone can proc anything, plz update

Probably my least favorite Night Boss (not counting Astel). I hate bosses that don't have any defensive weakness because of how tedious it makes the fight already, but Fallingstar ups it by also being so hyper aggressive. Every time I'm doing Augur you can FEEL the collective "ugh" from the team on Night Two lol

had to go up against this guy day 2 when I massively screwed up my run and had 0 pots and half health when the circle finished closing. managed to clutch it out after i figured out his charge caused him to run into the pillars and stagger immediately, since i had alot of critical hit buffs.

idk if its the same for anyone else, but it looks like regular staggers don't allow for crits since he does a scripted followup (i staggered him normally like 4 times since i was raider)

No way this has 100 stance. 5 charged heavies from a greatsword and this guy is still spry as ever. Probably some crazy stance damage reduction or re-adjustments for the deep of night mode.
Oh and you dodge the charge by rolling over the horns to one side or the other.

                • Its a whole bunch of bullshit. you literally cant dodge the charge atttack . it is not possible. even pro players cant do it, they just skip the boss. its bullshit

                  • If you happen to find a weapon with Carian Grandeur imbued, it's perfect to hit this abomination's head with it and stagger it. Stand behind the corner gap of an indestructible pillar in its crater area (shifting event), its attack can't hit you (only its range attack does).

If you have the reflection relic on Guardian, just steel guard its charging attack. Trust me, it's a magical experience

From should add another 0 to its HP. It'll make the fight exactly as easy as it is now, but take even longer. Clearly this boss isn't slow enough as it is.

They made some cool changes to this beast in nightreign. He now summons multiple pillars around him similar to Raider's Ultimate Art. If you run them into these pillars when they charge around like a bull they'll get heavily staggered and opened up for a critical. You can also climb on the pillars and use them as a vantage to shoot ranged attacks from or perform jump attacks.
