Fire Prelate Combat information

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

Fire Prelates Fight Strategy

Melee Users

Fire Prelates are giant, heavily-armored enemies that wield either a massive flaming hammer or a thorny red whip. They are often encountered alongside two additional fire-wielding enemies.

One of the most common attacks is the Hammer Swing, where the Fire Prelate swings its oversized red-hot hammer in a wide arc before slamming it down toward the player. This move is straightforward but punishing if it connects, so it's best to roll sideways as the hammer comes down and retaliate quickly during its recovery.

Another powerful move is the Hammer Slam. In this attack, the Fire Prelate jumps into the air and crashes down with its hammer, creating a fire explosion on impact. This move can catch you off guard due to its sudden leap, but the wind-up gives you time to back away or roll just before the landing. Staying mobile and avoiding the slam's central impact zone will help you avoid both the physical hit and the resulting flames.

The Spinning Hammer Swing is a more dangerous, sweeping move. The Prelate grips its hammer with both hands and begins spinning rapidly, aiming to hit anything in its path. This attack covers a wide area and lasts longer than most of its moves, making it risky to engage while it's spinning. Instead, keep your distance and wait for the spin to end before re-engaging.

In addition to its melee attacks, the Fire Prelate also uses a ranged ability called Flame Head Blast. During this move, the Prelate leans forward and unleashes a series of fireballs from the fiery crown on its head. These fireballs travel quickly and can stagger you, so dodging to the side in quick succession is recommended. Try to close the gap while the Prelate is locked into the animation to prevent it from spamming this attack.

Fire Prelates Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Hammer Swing Performs a wide horizontal swing with its massive red hammer, dealing heavy physical and fire damage on contact. This attack is heavily telegraphed. Roll toward the hammer arm to slip underneath and get behind the Prelate for a safe counter.
Hammer Slam Leaps into the air and crashes down with a vertical hammer slam, releasing a fiery shockwave on impact. Watch for the leap and prepare to roll sideways just before impact. The blast radius can catch you even if the hammer misses, so don't linger too close afterward.
Spinning Hammer Swing Grips the hammer with both hands and begins spinning in place, swinging the weapon around in wide arcs multiple times. Back away immediately or block if your shield can absorb fire damage. The spin lasts several seconds and ends with a brief recovery window you can exploit.
Flame Head Blast Tilts its flaming head toward you and launches multiple fireballs in quick succession. Strafe sideways while rolling between projectiles. Each fireball has tracking, but the cast leaves the Prelate momentarily vulnerable if you close the distance quickly.
