Contaminant is a Remembrance Boss in Nightreign. The Contaminant is encountered during the Revenant's quest, and is required to vanquish to progress through the quest. The boss encounter with the Contaminant begins as it emerges from the ground, revealing a relentless, multi-armed creature. From the moment it appears, the Contaminant is a highly mobile boss, capable of chaining rapid attacks with a short downtime. Its attacks will force the player to constantly move and have precise dodge timing. During this fight, players will be using the Revenant Nightfarer, which can summon allies. These summons can distract the Contaminant and create opportunities for the player to attack on its side and rear. Players should avoid staying in front of the Contaminant as it will be difficult to constantly dodge its attacks.
The Contaminant can also quickly close the distance between them and the player, using its arms to lunge. It can also expel poisonous bile that lingers a bit on the ground. Players with poor positioning will most likely walk towards this, damaging themselves. Generally, for this fight, players should focus on waiting for openings when it is distracted by summons, or when finishing an attack string.
