Weapons in Nioh 3 are the main instruments of dealing damage to Enemies and Bosses, and are divided between Samurai, Ninja, and Ranged weapons. Samurai Weapons are further divided into seven types, which are: Axes, Cestuses, Dual Swords, Swords, Odachis, Spears and Switchglaives. For the Ninja Weapons, there are Ninja Swords, Hatchets, Dual Ninja Swords, Talons, Kusarigamas, Splitstaves, and Tonfas while Ranged weapons are available to both fighting styles. Aside from Ranged weapons, other weapon categories in Nioh 3 are style-restricted and require the player to have two separate loadouts for two styles. Weapons also come with their own Weapon Skills which provides Martial Arts (for Samurai) and Ninjutsu (for Ninja).
Nioh 3 Weapons Guide
How Do Weapons Skills Work in Nioh 3?
Weapon Skills can be activated through the Skill Management option in the Shrine Menu. There are three types of skills:
- Samurai (only used for Samurai-specific nodes)
- Ninja (only used for Ninja-specific nodes)
- Common

Weapon Skills are unlocked by spending Samurai Points and Ninja Points in their individual skill trees. Once learned, you can activate (equip) the Martial Arts and Ninjutsu by going to the Customize Martial Arts/Ninjutsu option in the Main Menu. These points are acquired by finding Samurai's Locks and Ninja's Locks, which give you 1 Samurai and 1 Ninja points, respectively.
Nioh 3 Divine Graces Weapons
Divine Graces are special, set-style passive bonuses that appear exclusively on Divine-rarity Weapons and Armor. These Graces become available once the player defeats the final boss, marking their role as a core progression system for the endgame.
Unlike traditional fixed armor sets, Divine Graces are designed to promote flexible buildcrafting. Instead of relying on predefined gear combinations, players are encouraged to equip multiple weapons and armor pieces that share the same Grace, regardless of their specific type. As more pieces aligned with a single Grace are equipped, increasingly powerful bonuses are unlocked.
This system allows players to freely mix and match gear while still benefiting from cohesive set effects. Divine Graces often provide scaling bonuses that directly influence combat performance, survivability, or playstyle specialization, making them a cornerstone of endgame optimization.
By shifting the focus from rigid armor sets to modular bonuses, Divine Graces expand build diversity and enable deeper experimentation, rewarding players who carefully tailor their equipment to their preferred approach to combat.
Crucible Weapons in Nioh 3
Crucible Weapons can be acquired in the Crucible. Crucible Weapons deal significant damage to enemies, but taking damage from enemies while wielding them will inflict Life Corrosion and temporarily reduce your maximum Life.
When equipped, Crucible Arts will be automatically assigned to their relevant command. By maximizing your Familiarity with Crucible Weapons, eventually you will be able to learn Crucible Arts and freely assign them.
Can you Equip Two Melee Weapons in Nioh 3?
The feature to equip two melee weapons in Nioh 3 will become available after completing the Master Missions in the Eternal Rift. This feature lets the player equip and save 2 melee weapons, on top of their chosen ranged weapons per fighting style. This feature also unlocks the option to save Equipment sets.

Forge Weapons at the Blacksmith in Nioh 3
The Blacksmith will become available as players progress in the game. This merchant can craft new Equipment and upgrade/modify existing pieces using Gold and required Materials. Additionally, the Blacksmith can also disassemble pieces to recover Smithing Materials that can be used for equipment upgrades
