Character Creation is a feature Nioh 3 that allows players to fully shape and customize their character at the start of playing the game. When creating a character, you are able to define a wide variety of features, ranging from its facial features, physical appearance, and starting outfit. The Character Creation also features 2 bases: Samurai Style and Ninja Style. Nioh 3 also offers presets or a Randomizer button that will instantly create a character from a pool of its selection.

Character Creation in Nioh 3
Character Creation in Nioh 3 begins with players choosing between 2 sets of outfit appearances, either the Samurai Style or the Ninja Style. The Ninja Style typically wears lighter garments, while the Samurai appears to wear heavier garments. Apart from changing the outfit appearances, the menu on the left allows players to customize various aspects of the player's character. The Character creation offers 8 Menus for customization and 1 button for Randomizer:

- Facial Hair

- Voice

Character Creation Base Menu
Body
Choosing the body type switches between different genders, so players will be able to play as a female or a male if they wish. However, a warning will appear on screen indicating that all current appearance settings will be removed if you change the body type. It is recommended to choose this first before making any changes to the appearance.
Preset
Players can choose from a variety of presets, which are separated by male and female. Choosing any of these options will save time for players who wish to jump into the action of the game.
Elbow and Knee Angle
Adjusting the position of the elbows and knees of the player's character will either give a more masculine or feminine look to their stance when standing idly.
Stance (Weapon Sheathed)
There are two types of stances players can choose while their weapon is sheathed and standing idly, giving either a more relaxed look or a prepared look. These do not affect the combat of the game or the story gameplay.
Skin Texture
Players will have 6 skin texture styles to choose from. It ranges from having scars to no scars at all, a smooth complexion, and an older or younger look, and more.
Character Creation Body Menu
Height
Players may choose to have their character be taller or shorter. This is purely for the character customization and does not affect the combat of the game, nor does it affect the game mechanics and story gameplay.
Skin Color
Skin color can be changed depending on the player to showcase their character and aesthetics, or if players choose to create their character based on a different character entirely.
Head Size
The size of the character's head can be changed; players can choose to make their character's head be proportionate or disproportionate if they wish to.
Body Size
Adjusting the scale on the body size menu targets all limbs to be proportionate.
Muscle Mass
Adjusting the Muscle Mass scale affects the definition of the arms, torso, and legs of the character.
Chest Size
Adjusting the Chest Size scale affects how far the chest and rib cage will stick out.
Undergarment Type
There are 2 styles that players can choose when changing the Undergarment type, with having one more revealing than the other. Although this will still be covered with the equipped armor, players can still have the choice to select the two different types of Undergarments.
Upper/ Lower Body Markings
Players can choose to have special markings or scars on their bodies. As well as adjusting the position, color, opacity, and size of the mark.
Undergarment Color
Players may choose to keep the default undergarment color or change it to whatever color they choose. As the player will be wearing armor anyway, changing the undergarment color is entirely dependent on the player.
Bathing Action
While players choose to relax in baths, a pose can be chosen to have their character sit Cross-legged or sit in a ore Relaxed position.
Character Creation Face Menu
The Face Menu allows players to change and adjust the various facial features of their character, and presets are also given for players who wish to speed up the process while specific settings are also there for players who wish to edit their characters facial features in full detail. Players will have the choice to edit the following facial features:
- Face shape
- Aging
- eyebrows
- Eyes
- Irises and Pupils
- Nose
- Teeth
- Mouth
- Ears
- Accessories
Character Creation Hair Menu
The Hair Menu allows players to customize the hairstyle their characters will have, while there are presets that players can choose to speed up the process, there are also specific settings players can go through and take their time in choosing the perfect hairstyle for their characters. Players will havr the following settings to choose from:
- Preset
- Hairstyle
- Hair Color
- Hair Tips 1-5
- Accessory Color
Character Creation Facial Hair Menu
The Facial Hair Menu allows players to customize the character's facial hair, regardless of the character's chosen gender, which can be male or female. Players may choose a preset to speed up the process, or go through the Mustache or the Beard menu to mix and match to their liking. Additionally, facial hair color can be changed to any color of the player's liking.
Character Creation Makeup Menu
The Makeup Menu allows players to customize the added makeup on the character's face, as well as the nail polish, and facial markings like tattoos, scars and more. Players can choose to use a preset from the preset list to speed up the process of character creation, or take time in choosing how much or how little makeup or other facial markings their character has. Players will have the following choices to choose from:
- Eyeliner
- Upper/ Lower Eye Shadow
- Eyelashes
- Lipstick
- Blush
- Face Powder
- Nail Polish
- Facial Markings 1-3
Character Creation Voice Menu
Players will be able to choose between 2 different voice types, and may also adjust the voice pitchto fit their liking and to what matches their character.
Character Creation Options Menu
In the Options menu, players will be able to create, manage, or input a code of characters created by other players online. Players can check the Character Creation Codes page for codes from the community.
Character Creation Randomization
Players may also press the Randomization button to get a completely random character with all different assets every time.
