The Crucible is a horrifying realm where those swallowed by it will be tormented endlessly by yokai.
|
Crucibles in Nioh 3 are Locations infested with powerful yokai whose attacks inflict Life Corrosion, a status effect that temporarily reduces your maximum health each time you’re hit. While within a Crucible, your Amrita Gauge fills faster, allowing you to activate Living Artifact more easily and frequently. Additionally, yokai summoned through Summoning Seals become even deadlier in these zones, dealing increased damage while inside a Crucible. Players may also find Crucible Spikes within Crucibles and Lesser Crucibles, which are destroyable objects that offer valuable advantages: Destroying them raises the Spirit Force cap, increases the Guardian Spirit’s Attack power, and unlocks special effects that scale based on how many Crucible Spikes have been destroyed.

Crucible Information in Nioh 3
Crucible locations are cursed areas, and yokais that inhabit these areas are not only more aggressive, but their attacks inflict Life Corrosion, which temporarily lowers your maximum health with every hit you take. You can easily recognize when you're nearing a Crucible, as you should see black spikes erupting from the ground and surrounding structures. A glowing red barrier marks the Crucible’s entrance. As you approach and interact with the entrance, a prompt will appear, asking if you wish to enter.
When inside a Crucible, your Amrita Gauge charges much faster, making it easier to activate Living Artifact. Additionally, any yokai summoned through Summoning Seals deal increased damage. Players will also encounter powerful yokais and Bosses that can only appear inside Crucibles. These enemies pose a great challenge and are often considered as "roadblocks" that is tied to story progression. Players who are inside the Crucible are not allowed to leave the area until they purify the location, and may only fast travel and leave the Crucible while near an unlocked Bodhisattva Statue, which is the Crucible's version of a Shrine.
