Is Nioh 3 a Souls-like game?
Nioh 3 is a dark Samurai Action RPG set in the Edo period. The combat is comparable to a souls-like game, in the sense that defeating bosses is highly rewarding. You will find checkpoints known as Shrines in Nioh 3, which will serve as your respawn point should you die in Combat. Enemies also respawn when you die or rest at the Shrine.
What Classes can you choose in Nioh 3?
There are no "Classes" per se in Nioh 3. However, players can customize their Builds to their liking as they play the game. This wiki will include a guide on various Builds and how to customize or create your own in the future.
How can you traverse the world of Nioh 3?
With Nioh 3's expansive world, there are new methods to traversing its terrain:
- Shrines Fast Travel - After reaching 2 different Shrines, you will unlock the option to Fast Travel to these locations
- Explore by foot. Locations and areas are interconnected, and you can explore them by foot.
Nioh 3 Release Date
The final release date of Nioh 3 is scheduled for an Early 2026 launch. However, there is no final date yet.

Does Nioh 3 feature Multiplayer?
Cooperative play is now fully integrated into the campaign, allowing multiple players to experience the entire story together. Team Ninja confirms that the story progression is shared, and a lobby can be filled with a maximum of 3 players. However, Nioh 3 continues to highlight the non-structural quest areas, and gives an experience that's similar to an open world, that lets players travel from one connected location to another while doing quests, exploring unknown areas, or fighting enemies.
What are the Spirit Guardians in Nioh 3?
Ghosts that offer protection to those they accompany, affecting their behavior and way of living, are known as Guardian Spirits. Though many resemble animals or spirits, they have no physical body, and some have wills of their own and act separately from their wonder. Only those with a strong connection to the spirit world can perceive Guardian Spirits, and there are cases where even their own host cannot see them.
