Chijiko are special NPCs that you can interact with in Nioh 3. You can find them in various locations, and when shot down with an arrow, they will drop to the ground to be pet. After the interaction, Chijiko will give you various items to aid in your adventure. A Chijiko's location is accompanied by the sound of a nearby bell ringing. When you hear it, try to follow it to locate and befriend one.

Chijiko General Information in Nioh 3
Chijiko are playful Yokai that resemble to floating handballs. You will normally find it flying in the sky or nearby a tree. When it is nearby, you will normally get a notification and a marker on the map letting you know that a Chijiko is within the area. It enjoys being used for target practice, and if you shoot it down with your bow it will fall from above. Petting it after will give you some great rewards as a sign of friendship.
Attached to its tassel-like is a small bell that emits a cool and refreshing sound when jingled by the wind. Some suggest that Chijiko ring the bell and cause their tails to light up in order to indicate their location to humans capable of sensing their presence. If you ever hear a bell ringing, you might want to look up.

Chijiko can be found roaming around when exploring a region. A great indicator on how to spot it is when you hear ringing bells from the sky while exploring a location. You can often spot them flying around, nearby a housing roof or nearby a tree.

- Located flying around the village that is northwest of the Ikeda Ferry Shrine. In the same small village where you find the first Kodama. - Located flying around the area that is northwest of the Hojo Shrine. A notification that says "What's that? Looks like a flying... ball?" will appear. - Located flying around the area that is southwest of the Hamamatsu Post Shrine near a tree. A notification that says "Bells chiming in the sky... S'ppose some god is paying a visit." will appear. Near Hamamatsu Castle
- Located flying around the northeast area of the Hamamatsu Castle. You can access this area after you purify the Hamamatsu Crucible, which gives you access to the western part of the Hamamatsu region. Near the Enshu Coast Shrine
- Located flying around the southernmost part of the Maisaka region. You will see it flying in the sky when you walk past the Enshu Coast shrine and reach the southernmost part of The Haunting Cave. The Maisaka Junction Chijiko
Near the Maisaka Junction Shrine
- Located to the west of the Maisaka Junction Shrine. From the Maisaka Junction Shrine, walk west to the woods, and you will see the Chijiko flying in the sky. You may have a difficult time aiming from the ground due to the tall trees in this area. You will need to get to the top of the hill near the Chijiko's map marker to have a clear aim. - Located flying on the cliff side east of Lake Sanaru (North) Shrine. From the Lake Sanaru (North) Shrine, walk to the east and then head toward the cliff side facing the lake, where you see the Chijiko icon on the minimap. You will see it flying above the lake waters, just beside the cliff. - Located flying on the north of the Mikatagahara Junction Shrine in Hamamatsu Hill. From the Mikatagahara Junction Shrine, head north on the dirt road path and then go west on the crossroads, which is the path going to Iinoya. You will find the Chijiko flying near the bridge between a river crossing to Iinoya region. West of the Six Jizo statue, near a tree
- Located on the west of the Six Jizo statue that you find when you walk north from the Hachiman Shrine Walk. This area can be found at the central part of Hamamatsu Hill, where you will be exploring the vast woods and a few Yokai will be encountered roaming around. It is recommended to clear the Yokai within the area first so you can safely find a spot to hit the Chijiko on the sky. Traverse upward through the stony hill, and you will see the Chijiko flying in the sky near a tree.
