The term enemy base is used to refer to any collection of enemies holding a point.

Enemy Base is a type of Location in Nioh 3. Enemy Bases refer to any area in the world where a group of enemies is stationed. Upon entering an enemy base, a notification will appear on the top left of your screen, indicating how many enemies you need to defeat to conquer an enemy base.

Enemy Base Information in Nioh 3
The Enemy Base can be found in different Locations while exploring in Nioh 3. The number and type of enemies in each enemy base varies, and this information is indicated on the top left of your screen. This also determines how many enemies you need to defeat before an enemy base is considered "conquered".
Conquering enemy bases will increase your Exploration Level which will grant you buffs as you unlock levels. Some Enemy bases also house a Kodama guarding a treasure chest. You can only open the chest and guide the Kodama back to the shrine after defeating all enemies.
