Wave Cutter Hatchets are a pair of Hatchets in Nioh 3. Hatchets are two small, single-handed axes used together to deal damage to Enemies and Bosses. The Hatchets is a Ninja-style weapon, and can only be used when the Ninja fighting style is active. All Weapons in Nioh 3 also come with their own Skill Tree, which can provide Martial Arts for Samurai and Ninjutsu (Ninja Skills) for Ninja.
A pair of hatchets said to have been wielded by Sakata Kintoki. Based on picture scrolls chronicling the defeat of Shuten Doji, these appear to be the same hatchets that Kintoki carried into the battle. There is an account of Kintoki hurling these hatchets into the sea to finish off a yokai that had emerged from the water. The creature whipped up a giant wave in an attempt to block the weapons, but the hatchets cut straight through the wave and fatally wounded the yokai before returning to Kintoki's hands. From that point on, these exceptionally powerful hatchets were given their current name.
