Hostile Humanoids in The Lands Between

Black Knight

The Black Knights are devoted followers of Messmer and can be found throughout the Lands of Shadow.

Bigmouth Imp

Bigmouth Imps resemble living stone statues with wide, jar-like mouths. They often lie in ambush, posing as harmless statues or waiting around corners. They can only be encountered within the various catacombs.

Jar Innards

Jar Innards are beings encased in giant jars and can usually be found in gaols.

Curseblade

Curseblades are masked enemies dual-wielding the Curseblade's Cirque. They are very nimble and flashy, they can cling to walls and jump around before landing a series of attacks.

Golem Smith

These golems roam around forges. They can tank most attacks and deal massive damage. They can hurl the pots of lava they carry on their heads. Their weak spot is a red gem located on their backs.

Gravebird

Gravebirds are common enemies you will find within the overworld. Gravebirds can usually be found perched atop of spiritgraves, some of them are just actual statues, but as you get close enough, a few of them will come to life and become hostile.

Shadowpot

Elusive shadow figures that carry pots over their heads. When confronted, they tend to flee. They are worth the effort to catch as defeating them often yields valuable materials or items.

Shadow Undead

Shadow Undead are among the most widespread and common enemies in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and can often be seen in groups across the Lands of Shadow.

Spider Scorpion

Spider Scorpions come in two sizes: giant, larger than a human, or smaller, often found in groups. They lurk in ambush positions, hanging from their webs above or clinging to walls, ready to attack unsuspecting intruders.

Man-Fly

Man-Fly enemies are common in the overworld. They embody both the characteristics of a fly and a man. These enemies will fly around and spit poison, but once they get close enough, they will try to grab and attack you.

Horned Warrior

A fearsome adversary, easily recognizable by their distinctive appearance. Clad in plated armor and adorned with ochre fabric. These warriors are not only resilient, but also agile, as they combine brute strength with swift and deadly precision.

Fire Knight

The Fire Knights serve directly under the command of Messmer, being the only ones who truly understand him. These enemies can only be encountered within the Shadow Keep.

Aging Untouchable

The Aging Untouchable cannot be harmed through normal means. It can only be harmed after using parry to render it into a vulnerable state during its grab attack.

Bloodfiend

These creatures have towering figures, but their bodies are grotesquely transformed. Despite their terrifying appearance, they exhibit strange behavior. They patrol their designated areas as if they're driven by a forgotten purpose.

Hippopotamus

These formidable beasts are reminiscent of the majestic Golden Hippopotamus, but lack divine erdtree incantations. Instead, they rely solely on brute strength and aggressive nature to overpower their opponents.

Spirit Eel

These creatures can easily be seen, with their sapphire-hued bodies protruding from the ground. They are harmless when left undisturbed.

Giant Beast Skeleton

These skeletal guardians are relentless in their patrols, being at the ready for intruders who dare trespass their domains.

Living Magma

Living Magmas can be found wandering forges. They often cling to ceilings and can suddenly drop from above in groups, catching intruders off guard.

Candle Inquisitor

These mages stand vigilant, carrying flickering candles, ready to cast deadly spells on those who dare trespass.

Divine Bird Warrior

It is said that the golden-hued divine birds are known to be cruel, shunning human companionship. Few have ever succeeded in invoking their divine power.

Messmer Soldier

Messmer Soldiers are elite warriors who serve under the rule of Messmer the Impaler. They often wear more armor compared to the Messmer Foot Soldiers.

Shadow Militiamen

These small and agile warriors found their place amid the darkened ruins and cursed Lands of Shadow.

Furnace Golem

Towering titans made up of branches and human-like figures reaching out. These golems can be found roaming around large open areas and are optional encounters.

Messmer Foot Soldier

Base level soldiers, devoted followers of Messmer the Impaler.

Horned Shaman

Horned Shamans can be found within Enir-Ilim. They typically remain stationary and can spot players from a distance, using ranged spells to attack.

Demi-Human Swordmaster

These small but formidable creatures are adept swordsmen, moving with nimble agility and striking their opponents with speed and precision. They can swiftly approach their opponents from behind to catch them off guard.

Catacombs Sorcerer

These malevolent mages cloaked in robes that reek of decay stand silently within their posts, ready to cast death sorceries upon intruders.

Shadow Commoner

Haunting figures found throughout the Lands of Shadow. Unlike their aggressive counterparts, these beings are often seen in a state of series stillness, either kneeling in silent prayer or just standing around in corners, lost in their own thoughts.

Putrid Flesh

These are slime-like entities that inhabit the dark recesses of the Lands of Shadow. They are often seen hanging from ceilings, waiting to drop down on unsuspecting trespassers.

Catacomb Skeleton

These tireless entities are always hostile and possess the unnerving ability to reassemble themselves after being defeated, continuing their assault on those who dare trespass their domain.

Lamprey

Lampreys are fish-like creatures found exclusively in the Finger Ruins, mostly standing still and using a long-range spell, capable of stunning the player for a couple seconds, then teleporting next to them and trying to grab them.

Large Putrid Flesh

Large Putrid Flesh are slime-like enemies that can only be found within the depths of the Stone Coffin Fissure.

Fat Inquisitor

They resemble the Candle Inquisitors, but they are distinguished by their rotund figures and sluggish movements. Despite their lack of speed, they are capable of withstanding multiple hits before being defeated.

Black Knight Horse

Black Knight Horses are the fearsome mounts of the Black Knights. These imposing steeds carry their Black Knights into battle, and can sometimes be seen patrolling certain areas in the Lands of Shadow.

Shade

These enemies can only be found within the Shadow Keep. Unlike their Shadow Undead counterpart, these entities possess the ability to cast fire projectiles.

Giant Bat

The Giant Bats of Limgrave are nocturnal creatures and often rest during the day, unless they are disturbed.

Warhawk

The servants of Stormveil come in many shapes, including Eagles that have been enslaved and fitted with blades, driving them to attack those who approach.

Boar

The Boars of Limgrave are less aggressive than normal, but should not be assumed to be passive.

Crab

Crabs thrive in the shallow ponds of Agheel Lake and the shores of Limgrave.

Deer

Deer roam freely in the plains on Limgrave, now that hunters have all but disappeared.

Dog

Wild Dogs can be throughout Limgrave, and should not be assumed to be docile.

Giant Dragonfly

The Great Dragonflies of Limgrave buzz and harass all creatures in their vicinity.

Eagle

Majestic Eagles can be spotted among the cliffs and skies of Limgrave.

Putrid Corpse

The decaying bodies of those recently deceased, tormented souls that have little fight in them, often shambling towards opponents.

Giant Crab

Giant Crabs crowd the shores and shallows, attacking any who approach by swinging their powerful claws and spewing forth high-pressure water.

Giant Land Octopus

Giant Land Octopuses are a dangerous foe for any daring to visit the beaches of Limgrave.

Giant Poison Miranda Sprout

Giant Poison Miranda Sprouts grow in unlikely places, and summon down poison on those who approach them.

Guillemot

The Guillemot on the beaches of Limgrave are docile animals, but they are easily spooked.

Land Octopus

The peculiar Land Octopus is a rather small but dangerous creature.

Owl

Owls can be resting on the cliffs of Stormhill, and would even seem friendly and unconcerned by those passing by.

Poison Miranda Sprout

Poison Flowers grow near caves and cellars in Limgrave.

Land Squirt

Repulsive shallow water creatures that emit a poison mist to kill and intoxicate those nearby.

Giant Rat

Giant Rats plague the various mines and caves of the Lands Between, swarming upon their victims to start a fight.
These vermin seem to multiply endlessly.

Springhare

A species unique to The Lands Between, as adorable as fearful.

Sheep

The sheep from Limgrave have long forgotten captivity, roaming the landscape freely instead.

Skeletal Slime

Skeletal slime drudges the shores and shallows of Limgrave, looking for prey to consume.

Spirit Jellyfish

Spirit Jellyfish are passive creatures seeking to protect, unless angered.

Teardrop Scarab

There are both Crimson and Cerulean Teardrop Scarabs.

Turtle

Turtles are passive creatures almost driven to extinction by those seeking its meat, said to have curative properties.

Lone Wolf

Hunters of the night and day in The Lands Between. All those traveling should beware of their fierce ambushes.

Rotten Stray

Undead canines long turned feral. Despite their malnourished aspect, these are ferocious and agile beasts.

Bloody Finger Nerijus

Bloody Finger Nerijus follows the Bloody Finger code, hunting for fellow Tarnished without remorse.

Exile Soldier

Exile Soldiers comprise the bulk of Stormveil's defenses, but are by no means the most dangerous of the many enemies within the castle.

Demi-Human

Creatures small in stature, but with a violently brutish disposition. Though they seem somewhat intelligent, when night falls their blood boils, and they become feral.

Golem Warrior

Golems lay inactive in the hills of Stormhill, but those foolish enough to wake them will soon curse their fate.

Fanged Imp

Imps infest many of the various catacombs of The Lands Between, although some theorize they could be protecting their secrets. These creatures are well suited to causing a disturbance, moving nimbly like pests and hurling magic pots.

Miner

The ever-working miners of Limgrave know no life but their toil, and will fiercely defend it.

Troll

The Trolls of the Lands Between are frequently enslaved for defensive positions, but are also used in lieu of beasts of burden.

Kaiden Sellsword

Kaiden Sellswords roam the land, looking to be hired for several protection roles.

Godrick Soldier

The Godrick Soldiers of the Lands Between now roam the landscape, their clothes rags, hoping to rebuild their lives.

Wisp

Blue orbs of electricity that will zap approaching players.

Skeletal Militiaman

Skeletal Militiamen rise from cemeteries and ruins of the Lands Between, attacking relentlessly any who approach.

Skeletal Bandit

Former warriors who live in Death, often assembling in cemeteries and ruins across the Lands Between.

Skeleton Mage

Skeletal creatures with spell-casting abilities that wield large Scythes. Often found alongside Skeletal Bandits or Skeletal Militiamen.

Living Jar

Vases that lurk in the dark, hidden waiting for their moment to strike. Much like Mimics in the Dark Souls franchise.

Alabaster Lord

A long-haired, tall and slender enemy, often found at the shore.

Misbegotten & Misbegotten Warrior

Feral creatures with crucible features such as scales, horns, and tails. Often found wielding the Iron Cleaver and Iron Greatsword.

Wandering Nobles

Nobles wander the roads in groups and work in various camps and ruins. After the Shattering, these undead beings became the pitiful product of unending life.

Noble Sorcerer

Noblemen who once asked to be given a place at the Raya Lucaria Academy to learn glintstone sorceries, but their talents were insufficient to be worthy of donning the stone crown.

School of Graven Mages

Safeguard of the Witchbane Ruins' basement cellar. Mysteriously rare and highly unconventional.

Recusant Henricus

Invader representing the Recusant faction that manifests abruptly with full body armor and a Great Mace as a weapon.

Mounted Knight

A hostile knight that's fully covered in armor. Mounts a horse as it wields a melee weapon.

Abnormal Stone Cluster

An enigmatic, shape-shifting cluster of stones with an uncanny eye. Often manifests in a giant worm shape.

Wild Mouflon

This feral beast will become hostile when threatened and chase its aggressor.

Godrick Knight

Aggressive and heavily armored, this Knight is rushed into battle often aided by soldiers or hostile dogs.

Chanting Winged Dame

An uncanny female humanoid with bat-like features recognizable by its mysterious chanting in Latin.

Lesser Runebear

Feral, often massive bears with runic patterns on their chest. Commonly found scavenging East Limgrave.

Commoner

The Commoner is a servant that is bound to perform duties for their superiors within Stormveil Castle. They appear to be tall, slender, yet weak, who is still capable of fighting trespassers.

Banished Knight

A tall knight who was forced to abandon his home, found at Stormveil Castle. They are normally seen wielding a large weapon such as a longsword with a shield or a polearm, and they are fully protected with a complete set of armor.

Omen

Ogre-like creatures, one of which is kept imprisoned within the grounds of Stormveil Castle. It appears to be battered and treated violently to discipline it, and used as a weapon to fight against trespassers.

Burning Slug

Giant Larvae set on fire in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Flame Chariot

A heavily armored, tank-like flame thrower that can easily cause mayhem in its proximities.

Fire Monk

Fire monks are located in Eastern Liurnia of the Lakes. They reside in bases and gather in ritualistic ceremonies.

Leyndell Knight

Powerful and skilled knights of Leyndell, the Royal Capital.

Marionette Soldier

Marionette soldiers created to serve and protect sorcerers of Raya Lucaria Academy. On the verge of falling apart, they can sometimes malfunction when damaged.

Glintstone Sorcerer

Scholars of the Raya Lucaria Academy dressed in Raya Lucarian robes and Glinstone Crown masks. Versed in low-tier Sorceries.

Lazuli Sorcerer

Scholars of the Lazuli Conspectus at the Raya Lucaria Academy, who expected to master Carian Sorceries.

Twinsage Sorcerer

Scholars of the Twinsage Conspectus, elites of the academy permitted to study and excel in Sorceries of all kinds.

Ancestral Follower

Horned folk versed in distinctive spiritual arts often found protecting and chanting at sites around Siofra River.

Clayman

Slow-moving humanoids found in large groups in Siofra River that can swarm around unprepared players.

Skeletal Snail

Hides in its skull shell waiting to ambush unsuspecting players. Found within the Capital Outskirts.

Vulgar Militiamen

Small and agile creatures that typically conceal themselves within a smokescreen.

Silver Tear

Slime-like creatures infesting the ruins of Nokron, Eternal City.

Fallen Hawks Soldier

The withered remains of the once proud Fallen Hawks, soldiers ordered to explore the Eternal City.

Lesser Crucible Knight

Stalwart knights able to wield powerful golden magic, found patrolling the Siofra Aqueduct.

Giant Worker Ant

Giant Ants can be found creating nests using piles of humanoid remains in underground caves.

Lesser Onyx Lord

A race of ancients with skin of stone who were said to have risen to life when a meteor struck long ago.

Baleful Shadow

Assassins of the Two Fingers sent forth to carry out their dirty work.

Malformed Star

Large dragonfly-like creatures hanging around the ruins of Ainsel River.

Mausoleum Knight

A headless knight that has willingly beheaded themselves to follow and serve their masters in death.

Basilisk

Frog-eyed creatures able to inflict Death Blight on players.

Highwayman

Hostile thugs secluded from civilization in Murkwater Cave.

Azula Beastman

Hungry creatures roaming around Crumbling Farum Azula.

Farum Azula Dragon

One of the Ancient Dragons flying around Crumbling Farum Azula.

Lesser Wormface

An enemy variant of Wormface found roaming around Crumbling Farum Azula.

Lesser Red Wolf of Radagon

Majestic canine creatures overlaid with long, red fur, giving them an almost leonine look.

Mausoleum Soldier

Guarding the Mausoleum at the orders of Mausoleum Knights.

Battlemage

Staff-wielding ranged mage better known as Raya Lucaria scholars whose pursuits were deemed worthy.

Celebrant

Dancers at the festivities in Dominula, the village of windmills. They are the young maids who play the central role in the festival.

Crystal Snail

Snails with crystals growing from their shell. Normally found curled up within their shells blending in to their surroundings, will attack if provoked.

Glintstone Miner

Frail and malnourished, these diggers wield a glintstone-imbued staff for mining which doubles as a weapon when push comes to shove.

Avionette Soldier

Avionettes can be seen either pretending to be statues or simply standing completely still. They wield dual scimitars and blood loss-inducing scythes.

Demi-Human Queen

Agile and hostile, Demi-Humans scavenge the land in groups commanded by a leader, the Demi-Human Queen.

Wraith Caller

Odd hunched-over creatures that wander around the ruins in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Albinauric

Short creatures with smooth grey skin. They use primitive weapons and often congregate in large groups.

Chariot

A colossal guardian of the Hero's Graves, doomed to patrol these tunnels, pummeling those in its path.

Revenant

A grotesque amalgamation of limbs structured like an arachnid, with the face of a human. The many limbs it possesses seem to have been grafted onto its body.

Lesser Mad Pumpkin Head

A large, robust outcast creature used by soldiers as a weapon to fight against intruders and trespassers alike. Wears a distinct Pumpkin Helm, a distressed cloak, and wields a large club.

Grafted Scion

Arachnid-like creature comprised of grafted limbs. It wields two swords and a shield, first found as a Boss in the Tutorial Area.

Perfumer

Previous to The Shattering, a blessed apothecary in the eyes of the many. Now they have trade their aromatics for poisons and explosives.

Blackflame Monk

Robust hooded monks that call upon the powers of the Black Flame. Dexterous in wielding curved greatswords and other two-handed weaponry.

Broken Statue

Guardians of specific paths within the Royal Capital. Cemented to the ground and usually conjures pillars of flames to attack their foes from afar.

Chief Guardian Arghanthy

Aggressive soldier hostile to anyone foolish enough to trespass into her garrison.

Lesser Abductor Virgin

Controlled by a creature resting within, this saint-looking statue stands on a small wagon with two pendulum blades as arms.

Flame Guardian

Slender humanoids dressed in white garbs and a bronze mask. These guardians are equipped with long, flaming torchpoles and use fire magic.

Frenzied Villager

Malnourished humanoids dressed in tattered red garbs. Often found in places with high concentrations of influence of the maddening Three Fingers.

Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater

An NPC invader clad in cloth armor that attacks players with a wide butchering knife.

Great Horned Tragoth

A cooperative tarnished, one of the assassination targets eventually assigned as the game story unfolds.

Erdtree Guardian

Often found protecting Minor Erdtrees, these creatures are hostile at close proximity and will rush forward to attack with their Swordspears.

Lesser Black Knife Assassin

Dexterous assassins that are stealthy and even invisible in some cases.

Page

Servants of lords long dead. With their masters gone, they remain dutiful and protect the possessions of those they once served.

Lesser Bloodhound Knight

Highly agile armored warrior. It wields a curved greatsword and attacks without pause.

Moongrum, Carian Knight

Wielding the shield of those who served the Carian Royal Family, Moongrum is the guardian of the Raya Lucaria Academy's Grand Library.

Lesser Kindred of Rot (Pests)

Large silverfish-like creatures often found underground or at mining caves. Lethal at combat and extremely skilled melee fighters.

Servant of Rot

Mushroom covered humanoid spell casters that wield the powers of rot, throwing poisonous bolts at their targets from afar.

Glintstone Dragon

Dragons that serve Ranni the Witch, and will protect her from any intruders. It can summon its signature Moonblade to slice and can blast enemies away with homing crystals.

Godrick Foot Soldier

Low-tier soldiers serving as Godrick's forces.

Raya Lucaria Foot Soldier

Low-tier soldiers serving as Raya Lucarian forces.

Leyndell Foot Soldier

Low-tier soldiers serving as Leyndell, Royal Capital's most basic forces.

Hostile creatures that attack with deadly pinchers, with the ability to spew a very accurate shot from afar.

Larger variation of Land Squirts able to spew out a toxic gas clouds when threatened.

Monstrous Dog

Massive feral dogs grown to be much larger than normal, with smaller forelegs in exchange for bigger and stronger hind legs.

Monstrous Crow

Intimidating massive crows that prey upon any living organism they set their eyes upon.

Large creatures that roam the meadows and forests of the Lands Between.

Oracle Envoy

Monstrous band of musicians who employ sacred arts. It is said that when Oracle Envoys appear playing their pipes, they do so to herald the arrival of a new god, or age.

Scarlet Rot Zombie

The remains of those once alive who now wander consumed by Scarlet Rot.

Haligtree Knight

Golden Knights who swore themselves to Miquella the Unalloyed. They wield greatbows, spears imbued with magic, and greatswords with holy powers.

Haligtree Soldier

Frontline soldiers guarding Miquella's Haligtree.

Leyndell Soldier

During The Shattering, these loyal soldiers were the ramparts that fortified the royal capital.

Radahn Soldier

General Radahn's soldiers, reputed to be masterful warriors without weaknesses.

Redmane Knight

Experienced Knights wearing red and blue clothes and armor, representing themselves as wardens of Caelid, who serve under General Radahn.

Rotten Duelist

Heavy duelists found within Consecrated Snowfield, wielding either a greataxe or a massive battle hammer.

Albinauric Wolfback Archer

First-generation Albinauric warriors with paralyzing, weak legs. They rely on their archery to take down opponents. Those found riding Direwolves are a force to be reckoned with.

Ancestral Follower Shaman

The ancestral followers live a distance from the Erdtree, awaiting new buds. They are certain to sprout from their very flesh, and indeed, their souls.

Colossal Fingercreeper

Largest variant of the Fingercreeper family of monsters.

Cuckoo Knight

Knights who faithfully serve the Academy of Raya Lucaria and were given free rein to wage war as they please.

Depraved Perfumer

These heresy-inclined perfumers imbibe their own spices to alter body and mind. Their slow descent into self-destruction is what earned them their name.

Direwolf

Special wolves considerably more dangerous than their smaller counterparts, attacking foes with a predatory fervor.

Duelist

Former gladiatorial fighters who were exiled from the colosseum. They wield chain axes and hammers, and attack with a frenzied fervor.

Edgar the Revenger

Edgar, once the proud commander of Castle Morne, has become enraged by his lust for revenge and the corruption of frenzy. Wields a large halberd into battle, and will not hesitate to cut you down.

Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm

A silent seeker of sorcery, who had gone so far as to make contact with the primeval current, Wilhelm was led by guidance into confrontation with his friend Vargram, and it is said that he was then taken prisoner in Roundtable Hold.

Festering Fingerprint Vyke

The Invader version of Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable, called Festering Fingerprint Vyke. Invades on the path towards Church of Inhibition.

Fingercreeper

Grotesque creatures resembling malformed hands with too many fingers. Often lie in wait, ambushing victims as they pass by.

Fire Prelate

The weighty frames of the Prelates symbolized the onus of their grave vows as guardians of the flame.
"Etch this sight upon thine breast. Of my thunderous gravity."

Giant Oracle Envoy

The largest variant of the Oracle Envoy family. They reside in Miquella's Haligtree, playing their trumpet-like instrument, only to engage the players in their sight.

Giant Skeletal Slime

Large formless creatures made of grease-like slime and bones.

Servants of the nobility who keep them out of harm's way.

Inquisitor Ghiza

A menacing agent of the Volcano Manor, wielding a colossal weapon of torture.

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood

Juno inherited his brother's legacy without resistance, granting him the freedom to shower his little brother with adoration.

Knight of Zamor

Long-lived warriors clad in biting, freezing winds. They are said to have been the mortal enemies of the Fire Giants since time immemorial.

Lesser Burial Watchdog

A living construct fashioned after felines and hounds, made to watch over catacombs. These constructs wield massive stone weaponry and are attuned to different elements.

Lesser Fingercreeper

Smallest variants of the Fingercreeper family. These creatures can often be found following larger Fingercreepers around.

Lesser Spirit-Caller Snail

Odd snail-like creatures that give off a pale glow. While normally harmless on their own, their true danger lies in its ability to summon allies from beyond to fight for them. But once the snail dies, the spirits will vanish as well.

Elder Lion

These fierce creatures have been tamed to serve their masters, often protecting castles and forts. Armed with a large blade attached to its right arm, it is astoundingly agile and strong to boot.

Mad Tongue Alberich

Alberich was an aloof yet disturbed heretical sorcerer said to have been driven mad by jeering tongues during his service to the Roundtable Hold long ago.

Maleigh Marais, Shaded Castle Castellan

The sons of House Marais are all sickly born. Little wonder that Maleigh Marais would be so beguiled by the beautiful and fierce goddess who was born into rot.

Man-Serpent

It is said that long ago, the elder serpent that dwelled on Mt. Gelmir devoured a demigod, and the birth of the man-serpents followed.

Nameless White Mask

Of the surgeons that were abducted by the Lord of Blood, none were able to tame the accursed blood. None but Varre, that is; but he was an exception.

Night Maiden

Long ago, the Nox invoked the ire of The Greater Will, and were banished deep underground. Now they live under a false night sky, in eternal anticipation of their liege. Of the coming age of the stars. And their Lord of Night.

Nomad
