Maleigh Marais, Shaded Castle Castellan is a Hostile NPC in Elden Ring. Maleigh Marais can be found while roaming outside The Shaded Castle. As a Hostile NPC, Maleigh Marais will chase and attack you on sight. Their name is displayed in bright red above their health bar, similar to NPC Invaders.

    • It is possible to bait Maleigh to move closer to the castle and not fight both at once.
  • Maleigh can be fought on horseback.
  • Maleigh wields the Antspur Rapier, and therefore all of his attacks will inflict Scarlet Rot.
  • Maleigh occasionally casts Poison Mist from his sacred seal.
  • Maleigh moves quickly; thrown attacks will have trouble landing.

Spur of a giant ant which has been fashioned into a rapier. The blade drips with scarlet rot.

Scarlet rot is an old legend, of which Maleigh Marais of the Shaded Castle was a private believer. And indeed, he eventually found his own personal goddess'.

Customarily worn by the head of House Marais.
Increases arcane.

The Marais family has a dual history spanning generations, serving as both executioners and castellans of the Shaded Castle. This mask bears the likeness of the first of their line.
