Caelid is a Location and Region in Elden Ring. The Caelid region is located east of Limgrave. It's mainly defined by its red, corrupt environment and a great amount of undead roaming the open fields.

Caelid, known as the locale of the last battle between General Radahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is a vast land consummately marred by scarlet rot.

Elden Ring Caelid Maps and Notes

The name "Caelid" may be derived the Welsh language, as "cae" translates to "field" and "lid" translates as "inflamed" (lit. "Inflamed Field"). If the name is derived from Welsh, one would expect the name to be pronounced as /'kai̯ˌlɪd/ ("KAI-lid", rhymes with "Eyelid"), though most every character in the game pronounces the name as /'kɛi̯ˌlɪd/ ("KAY-lid", The first syllable rhyming with, "play").

Seriously awesome region. "Nuclear wasteland" isn't exactly a new concept, but this is a really cool, unique spin on it.

Missing Crystal Spear weapon (technically in Dragonbarrow but it's missing from that page too), also the Golden Scarab talisman is miscategorized as armour

Greatsword is not listed here for some reason. Its one of the most iconic weapons and fextra forgot it lol

You can see all of the divine towers but West Altus, the bestial sanctum, the forge of the giants, Stormveil, and even the academy off in the distance through the birdseye telescope here. God, I love this game, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of playing it.

Fromslop and game designer Henry Mitsubishi do it again with their new hit game Old Ringy now featuring brand new poison bog, NOW WITH EVEN MORE POISON, GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT, MORE BOGS!!! WOOO YEAH BOGS!!!

Guts Greatsword, Flame Grant Me Strength, Clawmark Seal + Bestial Vitality, Lion's Claw, Dragoncrest Greatshield, Radagon's Soreseal, Bull-Goat Talisman, Opaline Hardtear and Greenburst Crystal Tear. Caelid literally has all the best stuff for strength builds. Makes me think it's intentional, especially since it's associated with the Redmanes.

This place needed a legacy dungeon or at least another minor place of interest. Selia is just a boring slog, redmane castle is tremendously underwhelming especially since you can just skip the whole bridge gauntlet leading up to it. Really, the bestial sanctum should have been expanded significantly. The platforming section is cool but ultimately it's just for 2 items that you likely dont even need

I'd say caelid is on the same level of progression as liurnia. Like, u can do both at the same time. Do u agree?

I love caelid but not for the reason you think, it's not the atmosphere, the lore, or the scarlet rot bs

I love caelid because of BIG GIGANTIC RUNES BABY!! GOLDEN SCARAB AND THESE BOSSES

If you are struggling with this zone, get a fire weapon. Pretty much every rot related enemy is weak to fire damage, some massively so.

I don't care what anyone says I love Caelid, it's a great balance of loot & difficulty, I prefer it to Liurnia which can feel like a slog because although it's huge everything worth doing is spread out & there's too many scrub dungeons with useless loot unless you're playing full mage (obviously, it's a theme but coulda mixed it up a bit better).
Caelid has way better risk/reward imo & it's more fun plus Radahn is one of the best bosses since they fixed his hitboxes

It is funny how you are in a green and beautiful area like West Limgrave and then give one more step to find yourself inside the hell of Caelid, the red desert infested with leprosy and randomly modified creatures where any water source was used by Mylenia to wash her rotten privates before returning to doable Miquella. Even doable Millicent is diseased, it's a pity it might not have any condom in the Lands Between... at least I've already got flame cleanse me and bestial vitality.

I did all Caelid + Dragonbarrow then I started exploring Altus Plateau. My friends... how can be a region so beautiful? That place makes me happy no matter how much I die, that is breath taking. I was about to enter Mt. Gelmir but I stopped when I remembered what I saw when I was teleported to there by doable Rya. Let me appreciate beautiful thing a bit more. When I be ready to see suffering, pain, torture, injustice, misery, betrayal, neglect, liars, genocide, blasphemy, heresy and many "you died" on the screen then I enter that cursed place. The other disgusting place to visit is the Leyndell sewers. I wanna live in Dominula but without those crazy celebrants, I'd like to dance with them and they to be nice and pretty.

Why is there just "Skeleton" listed under bosses? That can't be correct. Clicking on it literally only brings you to the regular enemy page.

There's a somber smithing stone 8 after killing a scarab near the Divine Tower and a somber smithing stone 9 at the base of the tower. There's another somber smithing stone 9 near the bridge with the dragon Beastial Sanctum after killing another scarab

caelid means inflamed field but a similar ancieny latin word "Calida" means "Hot"

it’s actually Chernobyl as it has dangerous substances as well as mutated crows, bears, dogs, crayfish, and even the ****ing dragonflies.

Does anything coming out of the deep siofra well counts as Caelid? I think it should as I don't see anything from that route listed here.
The spiked palisade shield and the gravel stones on the way to the coliseum, the great-jar arsenal given by the big pot at the coliseum when you finish his challenge, there's also another route with a runebear guarding a stonesword key. All those things are technically Caelid even though you come out of the Deep siofra well elevator.

Oh and another thing missing is the larvar tear dropped by the troll disguised as a noble wanderer in the coffins south of the "caelid highway south" grace.

i can barely dent him with lvl 150 character. using an axe with all sorts of bonking bonus and antimagic incants still have me being nearly oneshot by his spells.

tonnes of health. huge alpha damage, and very hard to dodge spells that will easily oneshot you. also have to fight him on a tiny precipice.

FromSoftware have had reports of poor working conditions for years now and it appears that the staff decided to pour that frustration into Elden Ring by creating Caelid, job well done I say.

                                                                Ah, Caelid, welcome to Romania.

Joking aside, I love this place. The monsters here killed me so many times just by looking towards me that I am not even bothered by it happening again. I find Caelid fascinating, I hope the creators of this area are proud of themselves, I know I am proud of them.

                                                                • Anonymous

After going through it thoroughly, I actually like this area. The entire zone seems like a combination of Nurgle's Garden and the Crimson from Terraria. It's like someone took the bubonic plague, gave it a splash of red and pink, and applied it on top of a (previously) beautiful, green meadow. Everything is so delightfully horrifying and the tone is so different from the rest of the game that it makes me genuinely like this place, after conquering it, of course. Also the lore is much more interesting and dramatic compared to most of the bland crap I've seen in other parts of the game.

                                                                  • Anonymous

the wiki says the name comes from Welsh, but I'm pretty sure if comes from Latin "Caelem" for paradise.

Caelid looks pretty close, and Caelem Ruins is a location in the game.

Considering it's near the greenish Liurnia, it makes sense the area that was here was pretty aswell.

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

Just want to agree 100% with the comment about the giant crows and dogs sucking. They really do. I try to kill one of those birds every now and again when I'm in caelid, and if you can stay near their legs and hit them with charged R2s, you will do a lot of damage and you will stagger them. The problem is actually managing to stick close to their legs in the first place. The attack with their beaks sort of sideways is fun as well, the tracking that attack has is a nightmare.

                                                                        • Anonymous
