Gestures in Elden Ring are a useful tool to express yourself to other players, some including a vocal performance or making sound. Up to six can be bound to a shortcut menu just below the pouch.
Certain Gestures are involved in unlocking secret areas or equipment. These secrets often come with prompts which allude to, or directly reference, specific gestures. See the Miscellaneous tab of the Secrets page for more information.

You can use this gestureat the Moorth Ruins site of grace, just southeast of Highroad Cross Site of Grace, next to Dryleaf Dane to initiate a boss fight with him. This rewards the Dryleaf Arts weapon and Dane's Hat

re: balled up — you don't need to actually go through rebirth to receive the gesture; either just talking to her or, more likely, specifically *selecting* the 'rebirth' option in her menu gives it to you. whether or not you click/press YES in the pop-up dialog, you already have the gesture, i believe. so literally just leaving the menu (or at least saying NO and leaving) will let the notification appear, of course after rennala talks about this hypothetical fair-and-fine sweeting you could be.

I f*cking love dejection with all my heart, it's so stupidly dramatic.
When you do this gesture, your tarnished isn't sad, or downcast, or gloomy. They are INCONSOLABLE. They have watched their parents die in a fire, they have gotten rejected by the love of their live, they have been turned down by their dream job.
There is more emotion in these 3 seconds of animation than there are in entire games. Every time I see it or get to use it I chuckle. I want hosts who summoned me to die so I can use this gesture in front of their corpse. I cannot overstate how much I love this. That is all.

"Casual Greeting" being blocked by Mr Horned Man is such a weird thing. I just saw that gesture for the first time in my life today and was like "Huh? That didn't look like a "Wave"."
Low and behold: you must summon the big man for 1 of 2 bossfights, and somehow i managed to NEVER summon him on my 3 characters.
They could at least make sure that he drops it as well upon being murdered for Vulcano Manor, just as a fail safe. I find the default wave so cringe. Who the hell waves like that right in your face?

I'd like to use gestures to manipulate enrmies. You could show yourself sayng "hey"; you could enrage an enemy while you performs the point down gestore before him; you could have 75% chance of being spared by racional enemies if asking for mercy; racional enemies could calm down in 20% of times you used the calm down gesture; starting a fight with some respectful gesture could make the racional enemie 50% likely to don't attack you while you are knocked down or guardbroke since you do the same. Since the statue that has the O mother gesture (which I think is actually Marika's mother) is headless might have been the result of the same execution done to Midra. Since this method was mainly on the 'damned', reinforces the idea that Marika people were the "condemned" that became "saints" by being stuffed in jars. These "saints" may have been what was referenced in the DLC trailer "they were never saints. they just happened to be on the other side of the war".

The Bravo gesture is messed up, so easy to miss, who decides to go back to the start after killing Godrick for no reason instead of exploring the new area? At least it doesn't have any utility unlike the Bull-Goat set which you can miss by just exploring the Manor and running into Rykard too soon.

Man, I gotta say I get really pissed with the gestures you can easily miss because you gotta do something completely out of your way at an specific time in order to get it.
"Bravo" is the biggest offender on this. Going back to the very beginning of the game to get it is fine by me. But you MUST do it after seeing the Two Fingers and BEFORE exploring too much of Liurnia, or it's gone forever! Ffs man... Had to go to NG+ with my first char just because of that.
There's also the "Calm down" from patches that is gone forever if you don't come back after being teleported.
Also the "Hoslow Oath" that my level 10 coop character missed. If that NPC sniffed near me I'd die on that level, so I went so aggressive on him on every try that I actually never allowed him to do the emote, and didn't even remember there was one until I got him...

Missing requirement to get My Lord from Boc: You must have one alterable piece of armor before you can give him the needle.
Just tried it prior to posting april 23, 2024.
Went to Boc with Golden Needle in Altus Plateau, but did not have demigod chest equipment. Wasn't given the dialogue choice to give it to him. I had beaten Radahn by that point so I bought the chest armor and went back to Boc, was able to give the needle to him
