Anonymous"When John Onyenane builds a friendship, he builds it to last. And you should do the same..
The Onyenane way".
John Onyenane (the weird teacher I had in college who looked like Mace Windu for some reason) - 2017.
Anonymousyou have to be the most miserable person alive to be downvoting people joking about killing NPCs

AnonymousMight as well kill everyone since I'm consuming the entire world with the flame of frenzy anyways. Just sparing them from the madness and eye burns.

Anonymoususing this list like a shopping catalogue to see who i'm gonna goon to tonight

AnonymousI feel like killing one of these guys with the bell bearings should give you their entire stock for free. I mean I already killed them so where would the runes be going to?

AnonymousThese NPCs make it way too easy if you wanna kill one. Just spam fan daggers and they'll spam dodge towards you, setting them up for an ultimate Giant Hunt. I'm talking about the ones that are later game and tankier, of course.

Anonymousbro probably gambled and lost irl so he decided to take his anger out on NPCs

AnonymousAt last, I am returned to grant this game audience once more. I'm setting on a quest, from Limgrave to the gate of Divinity - EVERY single NPC encountered will be mercilessly killed. Any tips/questions are welcome.

AnonymousIt would be funny if souls games had some sort of creative mode where I can just go around brutally murdering every NPC over and over again and then reset the progress back to a certain point so I don't have to deal with any questline consequences when I wanna start seriously progressing. I have many NPCs in mind that I would want to go beast mode on. Totally drill them apart with my serpent hunter, Mike Tyson them with my spiked fists, or even flaying their skin off with my hookclaws. The most enjoyable part to me is when they've finally been bested, are on their knees fading away and saying their final words. Like, I can only imagine the look on my Finger Maiden's face as she beholds me unleashing total horror onto these guys LMFAO

AnonymousI killed every NPC with every weapon in ELDEN RING, and these are the ones I enjoyed the most:
#1 Fingerprint Stone Shield, and literally any other madness weapon - killing them after proccing madness they’re screaming with the flames burning their eyes out is the funniest thing ever.
#2 Eclipse Shotel - death-blighting is also amusing, just sending them over to godwyn’s realm.
#3 Rusted Anchor - preferably with wild strikes, just a spin to win. and it does pierce damage, even better.
#4 Stone Club - R1 R1 R1 R1 R1 R1!
#5 Spiked Caestus - Nothing special, but it made me feel like an MMA fighter.
AnonymousNext time someone wants me to explain myself when I say "I hate Fromsoftware fans" (and the confusion in my case would be absolutely understandable, given I played almost their entire catalogue since the King's Field games), I'll just point them to this here page. 99.9% certifiable psychopaths, the lot of y'all (and I must express my sincerest apologies to the 0.1%, none of the following is meant for you in any way shape or form whatsoever). No it's not the fact of not having any qualms about "killing" an npc in a game ("ones & zeroes" & all that; I am not delusional enough to believe otherwise, I chose the real ending in Expedition 33). It is however the sadistic gleeful enthusiasm with which y'all share these events and attitudes, as if it were an achievement comparing competition of some sort. Sharing this sort of sentiment about boss-opponents of some sort or another (and Cthulhu knows there's a -lot- of those to go around in this damn game), is understandable, and logical, given the aggravation and difficulty we all go through (more or less, a Str tank build trivialized 90% of the game for me). However, gloating about brutalizing an npc that in most cases opposed no resistance in the first place/was one-shot (because they were never meant to be fought, for once), or sharing the "dirty tricks" to stealth kill them (as if they were the guardian to Leyndell itself), as if sharing stories about killing a bear bare handed in real life or something of that caliber, that can't possibly be a sign of a healthy mind. If anything, for a healthier and more reasonable outlet, I'd personally recommend we all redirect our not altogether unwarranted ire (yes, for the sake of my own sanity, I chose to believe that what I read on this page was the result of hours of aggravation, lost questlines to obscure and lazy design etc.), towards the proper target: Miyazaki, who purposefully designed the DLC to be as hazardous as possible in terms of interconnected questlines replete with mutual lockouts, mysterious invisible never hinted at locations, that automatically deprive us from 80% of the DLC's content with no warning, and so on.

AnonymousSo varre calls us maidenless, does this imply the other tarnished (NPCs) all have maidens? And if they dont then how do they warp to the roundtable hold and/or level up?

AnonymousDon’t do side quests, so I’m completely fine killing all of them. Easy way to get early runes and early items.

Anonymoussomeday from will come up with an ending to a character other than 'goes insane and dies'

Anonymous
AnonymousVending machines are a true marvel of modern engineering. They are the unsungheroes of the workforce, providing sustenance and hydration to those who need it most. They are the ultimate embodiment of convenience and efficiency, reducing the time and energy required to acquire life's essentials. They are the hidden pillars of our society, silently performing their duties without any expectation of praise. In short, vending machines are the unsung heroes of the modern world, and they deserve our utmost respect and admiration - JC Denton 2052.

AnonymousMe deciding to name my child ERDTREE SANCTUARY SPIRIT or WINDMILL SPIRIT

AnonymousYall worried about questlines getting locked out, go play Lords of the Fallen ‘23 and tell me how many NG+ you have to go through to achieve those quests. Unbelievably convoluted.

Anonymousit’s kinda fun killing them, whether by sending blazing chaos flame into the eyes or spreading the black smoke of death around them, leaving thorns penetrating their body. NPC torture has never been more fun than this.

AnonymousI've just came here to choose a name to my future Children btw
LOL
AnonymousNot sorry - Any NPC that possesses a bell bearing will be killed immediately for me (unless more stuff is unlocked via quest progression).

Anonymous
Anonymousi like how not a single dlc npc survives if you do their quest to completion/give occult iris, this game has to be a stealth comedy with how one note and obvious its character fates are

AnonymousPersonally, I love proccing poison or rot on these guys if they aren’t immune to it and letting them suffer slowly

AnonymousKilling all of them is objectively the right thing to do if you’re speed running.

AnonymousWhy was there not a single one from the base game linked to the DLC? And I’m talking about actual presence not just lore

AnonymousI’m now encouraged to kill all of them and do the blessing of despair ending, just for the lols

AnonymousTaking a moral high ground just because someone killed an NPC in a video game for either convenience or fun is one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. It gets to a point where people sympathise with NPCs who deliberately try to get you killed…

Anonymousur right tbh most of them die regardless and if they don’t die they usually try to hinder your progress, just slaughter all of them

Always murder every single one of these fools on the spot especially the other Tarnished because no one will get in my way of becoming a Lord

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousSeriously from software are satanists. Hope yall get that..

AnonymousAlexander, Rogier, D, Enia, Yura, Diallos... Plenty of npcs who didn't deserve to die. Explain instead of just saying "no, they did deserve it"

Anonymous
Anonymousgod im so happy when the NPCs die. I cant think of a single one that didn't deserve it

Anonymousthese games are at the point where they can benefit from a skelly type npc (for any hades players), a test dummy with personality that can't die and has banter in between ass-beatings so you don't feel like a complete monster for doing it 24/7 and making you wonder what their true motives are for being so complacent in just being a borderline slave

AnonymousShriveled Morgott is my favorite NPC. so much in depth character design in their shriveledness

AnonymousWhat reason is their for very little characters to live by the time you finish? This isnt dark souls where the world is basically ending and people die without purpose. They could just give you or leave their gear where they were you shouldn't need to strip your friends corpse for goodies 95% of the time

AnonymousI've been gaming for 30 years and this game has the worst quest design I have ever encountered.

Anonymous*Person who's never played another fromsoft game before voice* "Quests were always like this!"

Anonymousto anyone complaining about terrible quest structure and regarded lock out points, just be glad this is still lightyears ahead of lords of the fallen 2023

AnonymousWhat's up with the "this game sucks, this NPC sucks, this questline sucks, this dialogue sucks, the lore sucks, the voice acting sucks, none of this means anything, every other game is better than this" people that crop every time you try discuss something vaguely related to the narrative or characters? I can't be the only one who has noticed them. They're honestly just insufferable and should go somewhere else if they hate it this much.

Anonymouswhere do the NPCs get their hair done? i dont see any barber shops on the map and idk if they have even invented scissors yet?

Anonymousplz when possible, add the ghosts lines that are in the dlc

AnonymousIs there a turtle NPC? I swear people mentioned it before but I can’t find it…

AnonymousIt's a f**king joke at this point. All dlc npcs listed either die, become a spirit ash or go in a vegetative state. If every person gets sad ending, then it just takes away any investment I can have in them. At least in base game some npcs had nice endings which gave me hope for others

AnonymousI often talk to female npcs and pretending they are my gf. It's the only thing keeping me sane. I can only hope one day they can become real.

Anonymous
Finally added that spirit that everyone thinks is talking about messmer

Anonymousjust saw the art for the new knight chick in the discount band of the hawk in the dlc and all i can think about is how delectable her grippers may be, please help me

AnonymousIt's depressing how many NPCs end up dead either by us or some other circumstances in this game. So many sad endings ;~;

AnonymousSorry, you've already messed up a NPC's questline in the DLC. You didn't give an owl a shabiri grape after killing 312 celebrants.

Anonymous
Anonymous
Anonymousseveral "other npcs" should be merchants, such as patches and boggart

Anonymouswould appreciate a separate page for spirits tbh, for the purpose of organization but also to make sure all of the spirits and their dialogue are documented. a lot seem to be missing here

Anonymoussee I don't hate how they did the quests but I just don't think it fits the OW. playing hide and go seek on an entire continent is just too ridiculous.. and honesty that sums up why I'm not as huge of a fan of this game as most people. they changed it to OW, but didnt really try to make anything fit around that. at least they added a map, I guess.

Anonymousso bad, all those npcs are flowers pots, even demon souls ps3 had better and logical questing.
the best roleplay of this dumpster game is to kill everyone, it's very immersive. also same voice actors since 15 year xD
ranni is an entire dlc, while the others are just useless at best xD but problem is she the same generic anime witch you see in all souls games, mixed with the doll of bloodborne, so unique xD
I honestly miss the photos like Judicator Argo from the Ds3 wiki where he looks like he’s going to punch you all the way back too DeS

Anonymous
AnonymousDS2 The DLC storyline and lore was superb specially the Ivory King.

AnonymousWhat about the mysterious man in volcano manor who asks you to kill Rykard. He's not listed here and I don't believe he tells you who he is. Who is he?

AnonymousOut of all the characters in eldensoulsborne who do you s!mp for?
Me is crossbreed priscilla
AnonymousKill a killable NPC and you have to point down emote at their corpse. It's how elden ring is supposed to be played.

AnonymousSo which game do you think has the best npcs:demon souls? Ds1? Ds2? Ds3? Bloodborne? Elden ring?

AnonymousI wish there was more information about the quests.. or at least a ****ing marker on the map

AnonymousYeah... they could have done a bit better of a job with the quest progression. Or at least giving the player an idea of where to go. The Npc icons are a very welcome addition.
"Search every single square inch of Atlas Plateau" is not a good hint. I'm not looking for a quest marker, but damn. I had a good idea of where to find Coryn, but I still walked right past him because I wasn't on the road.
Ironically, because I was exploring and trying to find everything, I almost missed him because I didn't follow the most direct route. Is "Hey Tarnished, over here!" too much hand holding? Overall, I think this approach works in their previous titles, but not in an open world where the npcs barely stick out of the environment.
AnonymousI don't know how to feel about ER/SB quests... On one hand for those who care to complete every quest without looking things up, it is borderline impossible. And I don't think it's intended. I think we are supposed to work together and log these things for others to be able to complete them. I wish there was a way to do it in-game though.
And on the other hand it is so cool when you're just walking through an are exploring or happen to revisit an area just to see an old friend you weren't expecting.
Anonymous
I can't figure out how to fix this in the edit screen, but morgot's picture leads to renna's page. Someone else who knows how this works fix it.

Anonymous
AnonymousWhy do you have to talk to them multiple times to get them to spit out all their dialog? I keep hearing the same line of dialog twice cause sometimes I can't tell if they're done talking or not.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousWho is that lady npc that gives the pose at the Redmane castle and what do i get if i kill her?

AnonymousSPOILERS.
I'd say the most saddest part about this is that most of the likeable npcs you've met through the Journey really are proud of your achievements, thankful for your help and in return did what they could to help you and actually for once in a god damn RPG game,Acknowledges you as the Elden Lord...But alas.
By the end of the game,They'll sadly never get to see how far you came because fate is cruel
nor you get the chance to tell them what you've achieved so far and what they really wanted to hear for so long because they'll either lose their sanity/mind or worse....Dementia.
Anonymous
AnonymousGot to altus plateau and thought it was a bit easy for a from game....oh how wrong was I. What an experience

Anonymous
AnonymousLove how they have every spirit except for the Gelmir Knight in Volcano Manor, arguably the most important spirit of them all

Anonymous
AnonymousDon't the spirits do nothing other than offer some cryptic lore dialog to their areas? Not sure why there's a dedicated page for every single one.

AnonymousElden Ring
Melina, A important character in Elden Ring. Seen as the chosen form of the creator her left eye is left scared at the blasphemous actions of the people as they got close to recreateation. Now it is upto the chosen Tarnished is the vassel to restore to make the choice. #eldenring
none of these npc's can live up to the standard of solaire, truly the best npc FROMSOFTWARE has ever made

AnonymousPlease take lionel the lionhearted, queen marika, and renna off of this list!

Anonymous
AnonymousFor the sake of your sanity, don’t visit Fia or the D brothers pages.

Anonymous
All the spirits can be just one page, really. A table with pictures on the left, their dialog in the middle, and their location at the end.

AnonymousI don’t have any solutions, but I really think From should get an improved system for player experience of quests
I don’t know how man, I just think they would be more proud if they could create a much more smooth experience for the different circumstances in which players complete the quests
A separate tab for spirits would be highly appreciated. They are not important to most people and make a mess on the page.

Still think it was a missed opportunity to not have the some of the DLC npc’s react if you’ve allied with Ranni or the Three Fingers. How hard could it have been to have the VA’s record a few extra lines?
