Gaki is an Enemy and Boss in Nioh 3. Gaki are yokai that seek the flesh of warriors, as it is the only thing that states its mystical hunger. Enemies are the hostile creatures and characters that the player will encounter while exploring and completing Missions. Enemies also drop items when killed that can contribute to the player's progression. The Gaki is a yokai with a small and slender frame with a bulging and glowing stomach.

Gaki is a yokai was once human, cast down to Gakido upon dying due to the sins it committed during its lifetime. Gakido is described as a realm of eternal starvation and suffering for those in the afterlife. The pitiful Gaki is unable to eat normally, as consuming regular food will cause its body to burst into flame. It is for this reason the the Gaki prowls our world, searching for the flesh of dead warriors to ease its hunger.

Due to its ever-starving nature, the Gaki is often driven to such a manic state that it mistakes its stationary kin for a human corpse. A Gaki that cannibalizes its kin in this way grows larger, stronger, and far more dangerous. When battling a Gaki, be certain to kill any other unmoving Gaki in the vicinity, before its brethren turn and do the job for you.

Gaki Fight Strategy

Gaki is a type of Yokai who is believed to have been a human once. He was also cast down to Gakido when he died because of the sins he committed during his lifetime. Gaki is also known for having an eating disorder, in which he cannot consume regular food, as this can cause his body to burst into flame.

Gaki will be using different sets of attacks and abilities during your fight. One of Gaki's attacks is the hand-sweeping attack, wherein Gaki will use his bare hands to attack you. You can always block this attack as long as you utilize the use of your guarding ability.

Another type of attack that Gaki utilizes is his lunging attack, wherein Gaki will jump towards your position while trying to attack you with his knees. You can also block this attack and avoid taking damage by maximizing the use of your guarding ability.

Gaki is not that powerful, and to efficiently inflict damage to his health, make sure to use your Soul Core abilities.

Hand Sweeping Attack

The Hand Sweeping Attack is where Gaki will use his bare hands to attack you. He will rush towards your position and will quickly attack you using his hands. To avoid taking damage from this attack, make sure to use your guarding ability when blocking.

Lunging Attack

The Lunging Attack is when Gaki utilizes his knees to inflict damage to your health. Gaki will rush forward and will instantly try to attack you with his knee. Use your guarding ability to block this attack and avoid taking damage.
