Fated Land is a Myth in Nioh 3. In Fated Land, the player must help Ii Naotora reclaim Ryotan temple from the yokai. Myths in Nioh 3 are story quests that consist of granting a request from the shadows of the deceased that can be completed to earn rewards. Myths are not required to reach the ending, but completing them will reward the player with various items that can help boost their character's progression or reveal secret locations.

Northwest of Hamamatsu Castle lies Ryotan Temple, which Ii Naotora plans to reclaim from the yokai. If I can help in some way, I'd best lend my strength.

Retaking Ryotan Temple

After talking to Ii Naotora, head to Ryotan Temple, which can be found northwest of Iinoya. At the entrance, you will find Naotora [See Nioh 3 Map] — talk to her, and she will join forces with you to reclaim the temple. Head inside, then activate and pray at the shrine before proceeding deeper into the temple.

Follow the path going to the temple, then head to the area on the left of the stairs to find a Yamabiko at the end, devouring a corpse. Defeat the enemy and loot the corpse for an Antiparalytic Needle and a Writing Set, then make your way up the stairs. When you get to the top, turn right and loot the corpse by the ledge for a Kunitomo Rifle and a random piece from the Marksman Set, then defeat the Jailer Oni and Gaki guarding the path to the temple.

Go through the large door to the temple, then loot the corpse in the left corner for a Rifle Ammunition by the entrance. Head inside, then progress by following the hallway on the left. When you make a right, a Jailer Oni will emerge — defeat it, then go inside the room on the right to find a corpse containing a random piece from the Righteous Set and a Taima Kuniyuki. Hit the white poster on the south wall inside the room to reveal a hidden room with a chest containing a Hand Cannon. Head past the hall, then sneakily attack the Yamabiko, which will have its back toward you. Once you have taken care of the enemy, open the door for a shortcut to the entrance of the temple.

Once you are in the open area, defeat the Ninja Yoki, then loot the corpse by the clothesline for equipment. Ring the bell on the right side, then go inside the structure north of you. Clear the rooms for enemies, then head to the room directly west of the entrance to find a Kodama in the corner.

Keep going northwest to find a Gaki inside a room with a corpse containing x2 Ochoko Cup, then pray at the Ryotan Temple - Living Quarters shrine [See Nioh 3 Map] in the hallway next to it. Continue following the hallway and loot the corpse for x5 Hand Cannon Ammunition.

Explore around the room to find a large chest in the north to fight a Mujina, which will drop a Ninja's Locks, among other equipment, when defeated. Approach the black fog in the middle of the room to fight a Magatsu Warrior, which is a formidable opponent that performs quick slashes. Once it is defeated, it can potentially drop items such as an Elixir, Senjuin Uchigatana, and a Seven Scalp Switchglaive.

Then, defeat the Ninja Yoki inside the partition on the west and loot the corpse for a Tiger-Running Amulet. Head out through the door on the south to get to the garden area. Explore the garden to find three corpses containing loot. Go to the path on the south side to progress, then defeat the Yamabiko roaming the area. Loot the corpse on the ledge for a Writing Set and a random piece from the Marksman Set, then follow the path heading west.

As you go along the path, defeat the Jailer Oni on the high ground on the left, then climb the ledges for a vantage point of the nearby structure. Before you head up to the upper area, take the left path to find a Kodama, then use ranged attacks on the Yamabiko to clear the upper area. Jump to the upper area, then ring the bell to progress through the myth.

Defeat the Aberrant Soldier and Jailer Oni roaming the area below you, then head inside the nearby structure to fight another Ninja Yoki. Once you defeat the yoki, head to the area behind the structure and defeat the enemies stationed there. When you get to the top, open the large chest to receive the Secret Skills Text: Samurai's Cloak, along with Sacred Water, and random pieces from the Ferryman Set and Righteous Set. Loot the corpse nearby for a Paralysis Omamori and a random piece from the Marksman's Waistguard, then walk along the shallow waters to explore the area. Defeat the Lesser Umi-bozu enemies that emerge, then head southwest to find a Kappa that drops numerous loot. Loot the two corpses at the end of the path for a Seven Scalp Switchglaive, a random piece from the Fuma Ninja Set, and a Genin's Kusarigama.

After looting the corpses, head north to find a Lesser Umi-bozu blocking a path heading north — defeat it, then loot the corpse for a Black Bamboo Kusarigama and a Dragon Head Helmet. Follow the path to go around, then sneakily attack the two Lesser Umi-bozu under the bridge to clear the area and pick up the Sacred Water from the nearby corpse. Defeat the Yoki roaming the area, then the Yamabiko attacking you from the rooftop of the pavilion.

Once the area is clear, head to the area under the pavilion to find a Kodama. Then, head inside the structure on the south and open the door for a shortcut back to the Living Quarters shrine. Return to the area, then head to the shed nearby to find a large monster watching through the holes —attack it repeatedly to fight a Nurikabe. Then, loot the chest in the room for a Warrior's Text, then go through the doorway nearby to find a Hot Spring.

When you enter the area, approach the jar to fight a Sunakake-baba and a Jailer Oni, then loot the corpse on the northwestern corner for a Spirit Stone. Once the enemies have been defeated and the loot has been picked up, go up the stairs on the east and activate the Ryotan Temple - Mausoleum Shrine [See Nioh 3 Map]. Pray at the shrine, then prepare yourself for a boss fight.

Once you are ready, open the door to face the boss of the area, Ryomen Sukuna. This boss wields three weapons: a sword, an axe, and a bow. This boss will use different fighting styles depending on the weapon it is using, which can give you a difficult time adjusting.
