True Samurai of Kamakura is a Myth in Nioh 3. In True Samurai of Kamakura, the player must help Yoritomo's soldiers drive away a yokai to atone for their actions. Myths in Nioh 3 are story quests that consist of granting a request from the shadows of the deceased that can be completed to earn rewards. Myths are not required to reach the ending, but completing them will reward the player with various items that can help boost their character's progression or reveal secret locations.

Full True Samurai of Kamakura Mission Walkthrough
Eliminating the yokai in Matsuo-taisha
After talking to Shizuka Gozen in Mount Kurama, head to Matsuo-taisha Shrine in the westernmost part of Heian. Fast travel to the Matsuo-taisha: Monastic Cave shrine [Nioh 3 Map], as it will be the closest to the objective. Once you are there, head to the exit on the north to find a ghost of a warrior in the middle of the arena — talk to him, and you will have to find the leader of the warriors at the center of the shrine.
Follow the path going south and approach the structure to fight a Tsurara-onna, then head inside once you defeat it. Then, defeat the Gaki and the Yamabiko along the hallway and head south to reach the center of the shrine. Clear the area by fighting alongside Kajiwara Kagetoki to progress the myth, then talk to him once all the enemies are defeated.
Head southwest to find a Yamainu devouring a corpse and several enemies roaming the area — defeat them, then follow the stairs going south towards the objective marker. Follow the path going inside the Ascetic Cave, and you will encounter more enemies.
Go through the path heading northeast and approach the dark energy being emitted by a yokai. Go to the center of the arena, and a Waira will emerge. The Waira will have insect-like claws, with half of its body buried in the ground. This boss uses its claws to strike you, often moving in a straight line, making it a predictable boss to fight. Once the formidable enemy is defeated, fast travel to the Monastic Cave and head to the area where you found the ghost warrior. The ghost will be grateful that you have avenged him and protected Kagetoki, while Kagetoki will fight you because you sided with Yoshitsune. After defeating Kagetoki, talk to him, and he will ask you to spare him. The True Samurai of Kamakura will be completed, and you will be rewarded with Ninja's Locks, Heizo's Hatchets, and Heizo's Waistguard.
