Abundant Evil is a Myth in Nioh 3. In Abundant Evil, the player must help Honda Tadakatsu find out why reports from the Maisaka Post have stopped. Myths in Nioh 3 are story quests that consist of granting a request from the shadows of the deceased that can be completed to earn rewards. Myths are not required to reach the ending, but completing them will reward the player with various items that can help boost their character's progression or reveal secret locations.

Honda Tadakatsu said that reports from Maisaka Post to the southwest of Hamamatsu Castle have ceased. I should investigate.

How to Unlock Abundant Evil Myth in Nioh 3

• Abundant Evil will start near the end of The Hamamatsu Incident. Honda Tadakatsu will be in the topmost chamber of the castle, and he will mention that the Maisaka Post has stopped reporting. You will have to investigate the post southwest of the Hamamatsu Castle.

Full Abundant Evil Mission Walkthrough

Investigating Maisaka Post

After finishing your dialogue with Honda Tadakatsu at the topmost chamber of Hamamatsu Castle during The Hamamatsu Incident, you may head to the Maisaka Post southwest of your current location. Activate the Maisaka Post Shrine [See Nioh 3 Map] just outside of the area, then head west to find Tadakatsu waiting along the path to the post. He will tell you that Maisaka has been subjugated by yokai, and you must help him get rid of them inside the post.

Capturing an Enemy Base

Follow Tadakatsu inside the post, then head to the corpse by the tree on the right to find a Power Pill. Return to the main path, then pick up the Incendiary Arrow on a corpse by the sacks near the main entrance. Head south to go through an alternate entrance to find out that it is an Enemy Base. To clear the area, you will have to defeat 10 enemies in the Dark Realm to progress the myth.

You will immediately encounter two Gaki enemies — one in the open area, and one on a rooftop, along with a large enemy lying down.

Defeat the three enemies, then head to the stairs on the south side to go up, then go through the ledge going north, and jump to the rooftop of the nearby house. Go through the hole, then open the chest for an Arrow and an assortment of gear. Exit through the door on the southeast.

Go through the alley just north of the house to find a Fire Amulet on a corpse, then keep heading north to fight a Shunobon. Once it is defeated, follow the path north through the tight passageways to find a door with a seal — you cannot open it for now, so head to the house opposite it to find a Dung Ball. Then, go inside the house next to the sealed one to find a Rejuvenation Pill.

Head west to find a well with a Kappa nearby, which will continuously run away from you. Chase it down and defeat it, then hit the well to find another one of it. These two enemies will not count towards the enemy count, but they will drop numerous loot if defeated.

Go back to the middle of the Maisaka Post, then follow the path going west. Defeat the Jailer Oni and a Dweller by the entrance of a large structure, then another Dweller on top of the scaffolding just south of the entrance of the base. Head to the area on the west to find a Fan accessory on a corpse.

Follow the path going south to find two enemies near a well. Once they are defeated, your next objective is to defeat the source of the Yokai. Head back to the large structure, and you will have to face a Yamainu — defeat it to clear the objective and capture the Enemy Base.

Talk to Tadakatsu to complete Abundant Evil. You will be rewarded with Prayer Beads and a Ninja's Locks for completing the quest. Then, open the red chest nearby to receive random pieces of armor alongside the Secret Skills Text: Defense Mastery I.
