Great Church is a Location in Nightreign. It contains different kinds of enemies and bosses, and is known to be a great source of Sacred Seals and a chest with a Stonesword Key. The Great Church's location is visible at the start of the expedition.
Great Church Information in Nightreign
Great Churches are large, ruined structures that house different kinds of enemies. These areas are known to contain Sacred Seals that benefit spellcasters. Players can enter the Great Church at any point in the expedition, provided that it's still within the ring. The inner area of the Great Church features destroyed pillars with varying room sizes.
The Great Church has an appearance similar to the Church, but it is bigger in size, and has enemies and bosses inside it. It is also represented by a large structure with mossy, green details. A Great Church typically has 2 layouts, one has an underground area that you can explore, while there are others that will feature a second level accessible by climbing the wooden scaffolding.
Like other Key Locations in Nightreign, the Great Church is also revealed at the start of the expedition. You may find multiple Great Churches in a single expedition, which are best explored on Day 1, or whenever it's most accessible to you or the party.

The Great Church is also a good source of Stonesword Key, which is an item you need to open the Evergaol. You may find a chest behind the central altar (Ground Level), which often contains a Stonesword Key. Another spot is by climbing the wooden scaffolding on the edges until you reach the second floor. This is another spot where you can find the chest that may contain the Stonesword Key.
Depending on the layout, a Great Church can sometimes feature an underground area where you can fight enemies, and or a boss. You can also find a Sacred Seals chest in the narrow hallway that drops random items from this weapon category, or various Faith-based equipment.

Great Church in Great Hollow Elden Ring Nightreign DLC
The Great Church can spawn in 2 places in the Great Hollow. There's one on the northeastern side, visible on the upper layer, and the second one is on the southwestern side, visible on the lower layer of the Shifting Earth. The northeastern Great Church usually has a group of Silver Tear roaming the surrounding lake. If you approach it, one of them will reveal itself to be a Mimic Tears that can transform into a Troll. The southwestern Great Church offers a Replicating Altar that can be unlocked after defeating the boss in the area. To get there, look for the hole inside the ruins above the Great Church. Once you drop down, you can switch your view to the lower layer to see this on your map.

The lower area features a catacomb where you can find a boss like the Elder Inquisitor at the end. After defeating the boss, you will get a notification about unlocking the Replication Altar. You can go to the altar at the far end of the room to duplicate one of your armaments. It appears that these locations are fixed when this Shifting Earth is active.
