Alfira is an NPC in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). Alfira can be found at the Druid Grove. Alfira is a Tiefling bard, that is having trouble finding inspiration to complete her song. There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. Their attitude towards you and your party may be affected by the deeds and decisions you and your party have taken on.
Alfira is part of the Tiefling refugees who were exiled from Elturel, her bardic master Lihala was killed by some gnolls on their journey to Emerald Grove. She will join your team temporarily if the Dark Urge is chosen as Origin.
She is on the cliff overlooking the ritual. ~X:284, Y:494. SE of the Emerald Grove marker.

Alfira Related Quests in BG3
- The Dark Urge - Alfira will visit the camp after some time. After encouraging her to stay, The Dark Urge will wake up covered in her blood and guts, having murdered her in her sleep.
- You will have the following options:
- 1. Wash the blood away with water
- 2. [STEALTH] Try to hide the body
- DC 12
- 3. Prepare to face the others - you aren't going to hide.
- If you choose this option, you will be able to explain the situation without fighting anyone
- 4. Go back to sleep.
- For Dark Urge character, if Alfira has already been killed or knocked out before this event, she will be replaced by a Dragonborn Bard named Quil. If you managed to save Alfira as Dark Urge, she may be met later in Act 2 where she can award the party with the Potent Robe.
- If sided with Goblins and raid the Grove, Alfira's body can be found with the bodies of the tiefling children in the Tiefling Hideout.

(Note: these rewards may be slightly random in what she gives and quantity, but you will always receive the robe and some gold.)

Baldur's Gate 3 Alfira Dialogue Options
You can encourage Alfira to finish her song, and later invite her to your camp for a victory party (if you side with Tieflings.)
If you use Speak with Animals spell to talk to the squirrels in front of her, you will hear some funny comments.
Approach Alfira and she will be mid-song.
- Stay silent and listen
- What's that tune you're singing?
- How can I put this? That sounded a little unpolished.
- Leave.
Converse with her and you may have additional options:
- Let me see if I can help.
- That's the creative process for you. Agony and ecstasy. Mostly agony.
- Why are you songwriting now? Hardly the best time.
- You'd better swap that lute for a weapon. You'll need one, soon enough.
- Leave.
If you offer your assistance she will offer her second lute.
- First things first what's the song about?
- Hand me that lute. We can perform together.
- Leave
If you ask what the song is about, she will talk about her teacher. You can try to continue to inspire her encourage her to keep going from here and she will continue the song and a scene will play. (A Bard's Muse inspiration for Entertainer background character) You can choose to skip at any time.
Telling her to hand you the lute allows you the option to perform with her, triggering two performance checks: one with a DC 15 followed by a DC 10. Passing both checks grants the character performing proficiency in Musical Instruments. (Note: this does not give you proficiency in the Performance skill, but does allow you to attract a crowd by playing an instrument or whistling.) Doing so grants you a legendary lute, but you do not get the cutscene of her performing the finished song.

Alfira Notes and Tips
- If you wish to spare her reliably from the Dark Urge's killer instinct, simply walk across the bridge leading to the Blighted Village from the Emerald Grove Environs Waypoint then return to the Druid Camp and knock her out with nonlethal damage. Long resting after this should trigger the camp scene with her replaced by a silver dragonborn bard.
- It is highly suggested to enter turn-based mode, throw down Fog Cloud or other such obscuring magic, then knock her out as guards appear instantly upon hitting her (the Cloud allows you to end turned base and fast travel before you can be accused or interrogated, allowing you to freely walk around the Grove and interact with Alfira afterwards)
- Casting Silence causes her to run away and disappear even in turned based mode
- Her singing voice during her cinematic performance of The Weeping Dawn is performed by Ilona Ivanova.
- With patch 7 Alfira can now (temporarily) join the party as a controllable character if the Dark Urge is chosen as Origin and if there's room for her in the party.
AnonymousDid anyone notice there is dialogue to run her off if she shows up at your camp?

AnonymousGot her when i was in the grymforge on the underdark. No idea how but my dark urge killed her

added a note on how to save her from the Dark Urge with a reliable trigger for the event, tested it by doing nothing beyond walking to the Blighted Village bridge and reaching her in the Druid Grove so it should be extremely reliable
may all Potent Robe wanting Durges prosper
AnonymousGUIDE - SAVE ALFIRA FROM THE DURGE (LATE ACT I)
Note: This method only works when Alfira appears in your camp when traveling to a Act II for the 1st time
STEP 1
• [SAVE] your game
• [SPLIT] your party so the the [DURGE] is alone
• Take [DURGE] and [FAST TRAVEL] to a [WAYPOINT] with deadly water or a chasm i.e [[https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Grymforge]
• Command the [DURGE] to [JUMP] into deadly water/chasm
• Make sure [DURGE] is a [DEAD], blue, spirit
• [SWITCH] to other party and [FAST TRAVEL] to any [WAYPOINT] that leads to [ACT II] i.e [https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Grymforge]
• Move living party to [ACT II ENTRANCE]
• [QUICK SAVE]
STEP 2
• Enter [ACT II] with your living party
• When you load into [CAMP], the [DURGE] will be [REVIVED] and [ALFIRA] will appear near your bedroll
• ⚠ IMPORTANT: If a a cutscene played, [QUICK RELOAD] immediately and repeat [STEP 2] until no cutscene appears
• ⚠ CAUTION: Do not [TALK] with [ALFIRA]
• [QUICK SAVE]
STEP 3

• [LOOT] each and every item from the [DURGE] so they are completely naked

• ⚠ CAUTION: you will not be [RESTED], so the journey will be difficult -- but do not [REST] -- or you may tigger [ALFIRA'S] cutscene before reaching the inn
• You will find [ALFIRA] sitting at the bar, safe and sound
AnonymousAlfira should become companion after her quest in ACT2, i rather have her than Halsin

Anonymous
Anonymouswarning for those wanting to save alfrida as dark urge
once you save halsin and the teiflings leave the emerald groove, aldrida seems to not be on the map anymore, she is now destined to die, at least not without loosing loads of progess
Anonymous
AnonymousAct 2 you should left shadowheart near her to protect and buff her from ice strom of jaheira

AnonymousThere is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. Their attitude towards you and your party may be affected by the deeds and decisions you and your party taken on.
...What is the point of this paragraph??
AnonymousThe Dark Urge outcome seems to always be the same: One Bard Dies.
1. You can go sleep in the camp as normal and later on it seems that Dark Urge killed Alfira.
2. You can kill Dark Urge character at the camp and then go to sleep. Alfira is still found dead, but this time at least we know that "it was the butler".
3. You can make Alfira unconscious (drop her HP to 1 by hiting her) at Druid Grove. Then different bard appears at the camp. Alfira survives, but it does not seem she plays any important role in act 2, so it does not matter much.
Either way, it all seems that it is the "evil butler" that does all this killing stuff and not the Dark Urge character. The "default" story in which Alfira dies seems to be the one that makes the most sense [plot wise and makes Dark Urge even more interesting as we all are lead to believe that he/she is the murderer, but in reality (since it happened off-screen) it was the "evil butler"
AnonymousShe's also on the roof of one of the taverns in act three. I think the elfsong?

AnonymousIt's possible for Jaheira to kill her with ice storm in the Last Light fight.

AnonymousAlfira is indeed a hidden Wealthy Lady. Her reward for completing mission "rescue the tiefling": a very rare robe for Charisma user, 647 gold, spell scores, Superior healing potions,...
Tip: Do her mission before interact with the Night Song, cuz if u release Night Song (or accidently do it), the mission is cancelled.
AnonymousI can't find this anywhere, but it seems that passing the performance checks in Act 1 with her will grant your character Musical INstrument proficiency even if they don't have it from Bard class/ feats

Anonymousas one can claim to have killed her in front of everyone to sceleritas fel, i tried killing her in camp (shot in the back when she was running away as instructed) but the game then still treats it as tho she got away and i failed to kill her.
is there a way to kill her truly in front of everyone and the butler recognizing it as such?
Anonymous
Oh no. I guess she died off camera in my Last Light Inn fight and I'm like 2 hours past that point currently (Literally the only person to take a hit or something). I guess she's gonna stay dead :(
Apparently you can meet her in Moonrise, but does she have any Act 3 appearances I should know about? TIA
AnonymousIn Act 1, after you help her to finish the song, Wyll, Gale, and Karlach approve

AnonymousWhen withers ask about her on your DU game dont worry talking about it only makes him make a remark but he wont do the thing mentioned.

AnonymousWhy is there so little or close to no info on Alfira?
Not even on Reddit, and the AI blog posts are even worse. "All Alfira encounters" it says and it's just act 1 LOL
You have interactions with her at Light's Hope (several, depending on progress) and you have it at Moonrise, you even have an own unique interaction (which is quite wholesome and lightening and well timed - especially after seeing the simple but god damn heavy hitting note on a certain body) if you're a bard. I have not tested with feat. yet, the problem is that at this point (after [REDACTED]) you can not respec at Withers because he's not in camp (you have to wait until night time which means a long rest before speaking to Alfira)
Anonymousas an old Baldurs 1 and 2 player I couldn't settle with anything less than Urge as my first character, paladin/selunite (to romance Grimm the hard way..) and I am not dissapointed: Alifras death wages heavilly upon my puppet's soul and gives him the I- am-a-monster realisation, from her unavoidable death does his path to salvation begins, R.I.P. Alfira

Anonymousmaybe add that its possibel to show one of the squirels over the cliff to get achivement (do it before interacting with them) if you throwing one of them it will impact negatively on Alfira and if you havent interactid before the throw, then its now no longer possibel. thats why showing is better.

AnonymousEverybody be commenting about act 1. Well, I just had *that* fight at the Inn. Sadly I couldn't save the Selune priest who got kidnapped and a second fight ensued. When I went to check inside the inn again, she was dead on the flood and dropped me Lihara's instrument :(

AnonymousYey! Finally found the playable bard companion that showed up in my camp! Can't wait to dunk Wyll into his tent for the rest of this playthrough and run a sweet pretty jester bard! Love her outfit! Love the energy!
*clicks longrest*
AnonymousAfter saving the tieflings from Moonrise, she has her dialogue then says "It's a sad day to be giving this, but here." only for the cutscene to end with nothing given. Can't find anything about it online either.

AnonymousEveryone in this comment section saying "You signed up for murder, then got murder, what do you expect? Stop crying" needs to go frack themselves with a rake that the "evil" dark urge would be proud of. I signed up for FIGHTING AGAINST THE DARKNESS INSIDE A CHARACTER, TO DO MY DAMNDEST AT SUCCEEDING IN PREVENTING MURDER AND EVIL TENDENCIES, AS LARIAN ADVERTISED AS ONE OF THE PATHS FOR THE DARK URGE. So kindly, again, gfy.

AnonymousIf you play Dark Urge, remember Faith. Care. All The Love You Can't Repay.

AnonymousShe’s also in act 3 on the roof of the bar/inn in lower city

Anonymousyou can get the robe in act 2 by knocking her from dark urge playtrough

AnonymousTo everyone asking if you can get some sort of robe from her in act 2. Look in the "Dragon's Lair" where the kids are hiding, at some point after talking to her she will move down there and she will be singing to the kids. I have not progressed to act 2 yet after raiding the Grove, but I can't find her so I would assume she goes to the Last Light Inn in the Shadow Cursed Lands. If you skip the Grove and Goblin fight her and the rest of the teiflings will be dead along the road to Blighted Village. The idea is that all the teiflings were kicked out of the Grove by the Druids after the Rite of Thorns was finished because Kahga is working with the Shadow Druids. I'm not sure if she dies along that road if you invade the grove with the goblins, but I do know her and the kids disappear from that location after the goblin celebration. I will add more info when I discover it

AnonymousIs it possible to get the Potent Robe (I normally got it from Alfira in Act II) if you attack the tieflings' together with the goblins?

AnonymousCan I still get potent robe after smashing her lute? How about it I massacre the grove?

AnonymousI experimented with a few options on my Dark Urge Devotion Paladin. You lose your Oath if you tell the rest of the party the next morning and everyone but Astarion loses affinity. If your Long Rest conincides with Scratch the Dog showing up the next morning for the first time you will be attacked and will be forced to kill scratch. Washing your hands will get the group off your trail but the Stealth Skill Check Option is the best one as it removes all consequences and Scratch will not aggro you.
As others say knocking out Alfira with Non-Lethal damage toggled on prior to the event will replace her with a very entertaining Dragonborn Bard named Quil Grootslang. I find I liked her just as much if not more than Alfira
AnonymousPassing her Performance checks will grant the player "Musical Instrument Proficiency"

Anonymoustheres no way to encounter her again if you sided with the drow/goblins and attacked the grove, right? havent seen her corpse anywhere

AnonymousSo, I talked wit hher, helped her with the song, without taking an instrument, she thanked me, and now she's gone. Don't know where she is.
NPCs really tend to vanish for me.... even Volo is gone, even though I saved him from the goblin camp and even had an interaction with him in my camp. But when I wanted to check with him again several hours later, he wasn#t there anymore....
AnonymousI don't have the game but I was wondering, after you wake up from the urge can you use the spell to ask questions to the corpse?

Anonymous
Anonymousi had Wyll kill me after this and then started a new game LOL

AnonymousI'm not sure if I'm going to get this cutscene at all. I was too nice to Alfira (narrator called me out) and then went on to start a war between the druids and Tieflings. Now Alfira's dead along with most of the rest of them. I've taken 3 or 4 long rests since then, but just triggered Astarion's cutscene. Am I just SOL?

AnonymousI assume if she dies, you can't get the robe? If so, that's a huge loss for casters.

AnonymousIf you kill Alfira outside of the DU interaction, a silver dragonborn bard lady will show up, and the interaction will play out with her instead.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousSo if you help her perfect the song by encouraging her with kind words then you cannot get her in your camp ? Well what a shame, far too late into ACT 1 to remedy this myself.
I didn't go with the flute option since my character had no proficiencies in playing instruments, so i was expecting that to be a bad decision to go for.
AnonymousWhen does Alfira spawn? I've done 2 playthroughs and she's wasn't there until after I cleared the goblins? I just want her to teach me to play instruments for free.

AnonymousI accepted Alfira and did everything written here. Knocked her out with non-lethal then went to sleep. Killed my dark urge completely then went to sleep. But the morning she was dead even tho Dark Urge was lying dead on the floor.

AnonymousYou can find her in Act 2 at the Harper camp, unfortunately she gets murdered by the devils that invade. Not sure if theres a way to save her

AnonymousSeems to give Musical Instrument Proficiency if you help her perfect the song and take the lute from her and play along with her and pass both the performance checks.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousYou can pickpocket the orange lute regardless of what happens.

AnonymousPSA: If you want to keep her alive you can non lethally knock her out right before the dark urge cut scene, another npc named Quil Grootslang replaces her for the drak urge kill.

AnonymousYou can save her as dark urge by asking her to leave and killing/having other character kill dark urge and then reviving next morning. The game even has dialogue from the butler that shows up later referring to how you didn't kill her.

AnonymousShe can be killed by a nearby hidden assassin fairly easily so be careful near her.

Anonymous
Anonymousshe got killed by me in a cutscene because of my origin. it was such bullshit

AnonymousI am plying elf wizard and slaughtered the poor thing first night she was in camp. I wonder if I could have somehow saved her?

AnonymousI didn't see her when I was first in the druid's grove - I must've not explored enough. After helping everyone out and the tieflings cleared out, she left too. Do I just miss out on her altogether?

AnonymousI was 5 hours into a dark urge play when she arrived. I was mortified. Quit that run (for now). I was not ready.

AnonymousI'm glad I didn't pick DU she deserves a better fate. I suggest people pick the one where you help her play because you get an orange level lute and your character will know how to play instrument. Sure you won't see the cinematic performance and there will be no bonus

AnonymousIs there any way for Alfira to stay alive when she comes to the camp, as The Dark Urge?

Anonymousoh sweet lord the dark urge doesn't **** around - if you want her to live as a dark urge, maybe don't encourage her >.>

AnonymousIf you chose dark urges Paladin, dont talk to her. There will be a cutscene that makes you break your oath, without any chance of interaction

Anonymous
AnonymousIf you use encouragement about her care for her teacher to inspire her, you get a cut scene with her playing a beautiful (audibly studio-recorded) version of her song (when you offer to help her, choose the question regarding what the song is about first). If you ask for the lute first to help her (and take it), you will get two performance rolls to play along with her - a 15 DC and then a 10 DC. If you make both rolls, she still plays her song, but you don't get the beautiful studio recording version, just her playing acoustically. BUT, she gives you her teacher's lute afterwards, which you can use to play three songs (not sure what they're worth, don't seem to give any immediate buffs as a non-bard).

Does someone know how to get Alfira to sing at your camp, I had this happen long time ago on my first play through and I’m unable to recreate this.. just to make it clear, nit her singing at the grove, I had another singing scene in the camp after defeating the goblins and dealing with druids. I would really appreciate if someone knows
