Doni is an NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. Doni can be found at Druid Grove. Doni can't talk, but he can point you to the Tiefling Hideout. There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. Their attitude towards you and your party may be affected by the deeds and decisions you and your party taken on.

Doni Dialogue Options
While interacting with Doni, he mostly communicates with different grunts and gestures, Your interaction with Doni differs depending on if you were previously sent to him by Mirkon as part of the Investigate the Beach quest, but if the player passes a Perception check upon their first meeting with Doni they can notice the hidden entrance to the Tiefling Hideout early.
- After you free Mirkon from the Harpies at the beach, he tells you to head to Doni, to learn the secret entrance of the Tiefling Hideout.
If you skipped the interaction with Mirkon, your response options with Doni will be more limited:
- Are you all right?
- Turn around to see what he's looking at
- Leave.
If you seek Doni out while progressing through Investigate the Beach, you will have these options:
- Hello?
- [INSIGHT] Where the hells did you disappear to before?
- Doni, isn't it? I want to see the Dragon's Lair
- Turn around to see what he's looking at
- Leave.
Request to see the Dragon's Lair and he will reveal the hatch. This will update your journal for Investigate the Beach. You can then thank him, continue to interact, or choose to leave and he will continue to Grunt. Just nearby, you can now interact with the Concealed Hatch to enter the Tiefling Hideout.

- At The Festering Cove players can find a Message in a Bottle, written by Doni to his father.
AnonymousI found Doni, talked to him *looked where he was looking, made grunting noises* it felt like I was playing with a child, but now he dissapeared before I could ask to see the dragons lair. Am I supposed to wait or look for him?

You can also come across a "message in a bottle" written by Doni all the way down in the Festering Cove that can be found in the Underdark. It's actually a little sad & it's him writing to his Dad & mentioning that he read all rivers lead back to home or something so he hopes he gets it and writes him back or comes visits him in Baldur's Gate. So he wrote it & threw it in the river hoping it'd get to his Dad & it made it's way down to the Festering Cove. A very immersive, touching, & awesome find!

I have a feeling Doni is autistic... If you read his mind you find out he has problems with people talking etc.

I got a dif dialog atm where doni looks at me makes some fighting gestures and then looks away as if it hurts to look at me O~O cant figure out whats up w that

Doni actually talks if you have a Bird familiar and has a lot of different remarks, other kids will also talk about your familiar.

Before the Goblin Siege begins Doni is standing infront of the Druid Cave's locked door.
Above Rikka is looking for him, asking you to find him, giving you the quest "Find Doni".
Even if I already talking to Doni, and, after receiving the quest, I can't inform Rikka about his wherabouts.
Something that actually worked was using the Minor Illusion Cantrip above the cave, which lured Doni all the way up there.
He will break search for the illusion when almost reaching the place he is supposed to investigate. Recasting the illusion makes him reach the destination, if you can also lure Rikka with it, who is in the civinity, she will run to Doni and bring him to security.
Afterwards she moves further into the camp, there you can talk to her again for a XP reward.

There is a message in a bottle written by Doni to his dad in festering cove with the item name Curled Paper. It reads:
Dad,
Sorry I stopped writing - we ran out paper on the road. I got this from the druids. Maybe that's why they're so mad at us.
I hope this can find you. Zevlor says you got lost and that our old house is gone, but I read a book that says all rivers find their way into the Styx.
When you get it, you can write me back in Baldur's Gate. Or maybe come visit?
