Cal is an NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. Cal can be found at The Hollow (Druid Grove). Cal is a Tiefling that hangs out with Rolan and Lia at the Hollow. There is a massive amount of NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3, and their ideals, needs and way of living are strictly related to the actions they perform during the course of the game. Their attitude towards you and your party may be affected by the deeds and decisions you and your party have taken on.
BG3 Cal Information:
- Cal is part of a band of Tieflings that is not decided on what to do about the whole tension building up in the grove.
- He is Lia's and Roland's brother.

Cal Dialogue Options in BG3
When you meet Cal, he is in the middle of an argument with his two tiefling companions, Rolan and Lia. They are arguing about what to do regarding the dangers drawing near at the Druid Grove. Lia wants to stay and fight, while Rolan states that they should flee while they can. At that moment the player steps into the conversation.
- Say nothing
- Get out while you can - the goblins will be back.
- [PERSUASION] You should all stay. A single blade could make a difference.
- [DRAGONBORN] Clan is everything. You don't abandon those you swore to protect.
- Leave.
- You can say nothing and see how the situation unfolds.
- Warn them about the goblins, urging them to leave.
- Passing a Persuasion check, you can ask them to stay. Convincing them that every blade is needed to fight. Rolan will continue to resist before eventually caving in.
If you resolve the situation between Rolan and Lia, he thanks you for stepping in when you did.

Okay, so I found Cals and Lias bodies in act 2 (in the red ilithid cave under the absolute prison, vague so as not to spoil too much).
Probably best to let them simply abandon the refugees, maybe they will survive then?
