Memory Crystal is a Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong. Memory Crystal is a defensive Blue Tool, a reflective stone that forms a crystal memory when hit, shattering into spines on contact. Tools are special collectibles used by Hornet, giving her offensive and defensive abilities.

How to Get Memory Crystal Tool in Hollow Knight Silksong

  • Location: Mount Fay [Silksong Map]
  • Inside the Mount Fay tunnels, you will explore until the end part of it, then you will discover a passage heading south, and as you walk east on that lower ground until you reach a large chunk of ice that when hit, will reveal the Memory Crystal.

Memory Crystal Tool Notes & Tips in Hollow Knight Silksong

  • The effect of the Memory Crystal when equipped acts as an efficient counter attack measure, where Hornet forms crystal-like memory fragments when hit.
  • These fragments shatter into sharpnels that inflict damage on enemies once they come in contact with it.
  • The function is quite similar to a return damage mechanic, where a portion of damage dealt to hornet is returned as damage to the enemy.

First time I got this I was kinda underwhelmed from just its description. I gave it a fair chance eventually and now I love it. This thing is really good. Weirdly you can use the Delver's Drill tool to pogo on top of the crystal Hornet.

Since Architect can just refresh Plasmium Vials forever in Act 3, you can combine that with Memory Crystal and Druid's Eyes and just bruteforce many encounters.

It works far better than it should, making this a situational but still very strong Tool.

Some additional notes about the crystal formed, which I'll be calling the Memory:
          - You must actually take damage for the Memory to form. "Denying" damage through ways such as with the Warding Bell, Cross Stitch, and Magnetite Dice does not create a Memory.
However, taking damage with the Fractured Mask or Plasmium Phial still creates a Memory, giving it fantastic synergy with either.
Losing a mask via the detonation from Pollip Pouch + Plasmium Phial combo does not create a Memory, but taking a hit before the detonation occurs does
          - Multiple Memories can be formed as long as you keep taking damage. There does not appear to be a limit on how many Memories can be formed.
          - The Memory will either detonate after a bit of time, or anything coming into contact with it, such as enemies or tools
          - Taking damage from "multi-hit attacks" (attacks where you take one damage twice) will only create one Memory, not two.
          - Stage hazards, such as spikes, do not create a Memory, it must be from an enemy.
          - Whoever wrote the notes for this wiki is wrong, a portion of damage taken is not returned as additional damage. Whether you take one mask or four, the Memory still deals the same amount of damage. This means this has no synergy with Barbed Bracelet, though that would've been a cool concept

These are the worst location explications I've ever seen. Bottom left of Mount Fay, break hidden walls to the right of the bench, break ice chunk, done.
