Sea of Sorrow is a new and upcoming DLC Expansion for Hollow Knight Silksong. Since the year launch of Hollow Knight Silksong, 2025, is coming to an end, Team Cherry has announced a project they have been working on, which leads to Hollow Knight Silksong's first DLC Expansion, Sea of Sorrow. Sea of Sorrow will be a free expansion for all players and is set to release in 2026 for all platforms, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch 1 | 2, Xbox Series X | S, and PC (Steam, GOG, Humble Store).

Alongside the announcement of Hollow Knight Silksong's expansion, Sea of Sorrow, Team Cherry has also announced the Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which includes all the updates and enhancements that have been applied to Silksong. These updates and enhancements include High frame-rate modes, improved resolutions, and other changes to the graphics of the game. They have also announced that all players who own Hollow Knight on Nintendo Switch will be allowed to download the new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free when it launches in 2026.
