Starscourge Radahn is a Legend Boss in Elden Ring. Starscourge Radahn is heralded as one of the mightiest living demigods, having fought Malenia the Severed to a standstill during the Shattering. However, his resulting affliction with the Scarlet Rot caused him to be driven to insanity, crippling him and reducing him to a state of feral rage. He is located in Caelid, where he can be accessed from Redmane Castle after activating the Radahn Festival by progressing far enough in Ranni's questline, or activating any site of grace in Altus Plateau.

Radahn is an optional boss, and doesn't need to be defeated to advance Elden Ring's main storyline. However, he is a shardbearer, and two of the five available shardbearers must be defeated before entering Leyndell, Royal Capital. In addition, he must be defeated to access Nokron, Eternal City, achieve a certain ending, and unlock the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The Red Lion General wielded gravitational powers which he learned in Sellia during his younger days. All so he would never have to abandon his beloved but scrawny steed.

Starscourge Radahn Combat information

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

Starscourge Radahn Fight Strategy

General Tips

  • Torrent is available for this fight (unless other players are summoned in for co-op)
  • The summon signs seen are NPC summons for the Festival Mechanic. They can be summoned with one button press and any number can be summoned at once. Upon death, their signs will reappear to summon again, though not necessarily in the same place as first summoned.
    • With the summons, it is possible (if slow) to complete the fight without attacking Radahn directly.
  • Radahn will start shooting magic arrows immediately upon entering the arena
    • These can be blocked with a shield, but will do heavy magic damage. They will kill most players in one hit.
    • The arrows home so accurately that they are usually not possible to dodge without the use of i-frames, such as rolling or mounting/dismounting Torrent. As always, rolling toward the source of a projectile will make it easier to dodge.
    • Debris on the battlefield will block the arrows once, as the arrow will destroy the debris instead of hitting the player. The first two groups of summon signs are behind such debris.
  • The arrow barrage Radahn fires in the air ("Radahn's Rain") will also home in on you. It is easier to dodge on Torrent, but is possible to outrun on foot if you run directly perpendicular to Radahn.
    • A reliable approach is to raise your shield when you enter the arena and approach the first group of summon signs. Summon all available NPCs, using the debris next to their signs for cover, and advance to the next group with your shield up. Keep an eye on Radahn: at some point he pulls back his bow without the magical energy charges, signaling you to get on your horse and begin strafing to avoid his spear-arrow attacks. Once you get close enough, Radahn will pull out his swords and begin his melee attacks, at which point you can begin the fight. At this point, if you're on horseback it should be safe to run away a bit and heal the chip damage from his arrow attacks.
    • If the player stays a far enough distance away, he will become unable to perform his arrow wall attack, making the opening sequence of the fight a lot easier. In terms of proximity, avoid going past the first 3 summon signs you see until one of them has had the opportunity to make Radahn switch to his Melee stance. After which you are fine to continue moving forward and collect the missing summon signs.
    • Otherwise, if you don't want to deal with Radahn's ranged attacks, there's also a way to prevent them altogether. As soon as you load into the arena, start running away in the opposite direction until Radahn's model is unloaded. When the model is no longer visible on screen, start heading back towards him; as he reappears, Radahn will automatically pull out the swords and will start approaching you in melee mode, giving you more than enough time to safely buff or summon the phantoms without the arrows bothering you.
  • Almost all of Radahn's ranged attacks, including his magic arrow and both of his magic rock and sphere projectiles will likely kill in one hit. The magic arrows are best dodged with i-frames or blocked. The magic rocks and magic spheres can be dodged with i-frames or by sprinting perpendicularly to Radahn on Torrent.
  • Radahn is extremely weak to Scarlet Rot. Inflicting it on him once will bring him down to half health in a short time. Inflicting it on him again near the start of the second phase will kill him in a short time. By far the easiest way to win the fight is to hit him with Rotten Breath, which will require two successful hits to inflict Scarlet Rot.
  • Suggested weapon: Antspur Rapier (DEX/ARC)
Melee Users

Phase 1: 100% HP

In the first phase of the battle, Radahn moves around quickly on horseback, making it challenging to land consistent hits. Fast weapons with bleed effects, such as the Uchigatana, Bloodhound's Fang, or Hookclaws, are particularly effective. The summoned NPCs will often draw Radahn’s attention, allowing you to land several chain attacks. Bleed builds up quickly, dealing significant damage, but be cautious when Radahn's health drops to around 75%. At this point, he'll clang his two Greatswords together and slam them into the ground, creating a short window for one or two more attacks. Afterward, he pulls the swords out and slams them back down, triggering a gravity magic attack that pulls in and stuns everyone nearby before dealing heavy damage.

Phase 1.5: 75% HP

In Phase 1.5, Radahn gains a few new ranged attacks, but the fight remains similar to the first phase. Some NPCs may die, but they can be re-summoned after a short cooldown. Watch out for his rush attacks, and continue dealing damage in small bursts, retreating to heal on horseback when necessary.

Phase 2: 50% HP

During Phase 2, Radahn leaps into the air and seemingly vanishes, giving you a brief moment to heal and re-summon fallen allies. However, keep an eye on the sky, as he will come crashing back down like a fiery meteor. This can be dodged on horseback, but getting hit will likely result in instant death. Upon landing, Radahn summons four boulders that surround him and shoot toward you at high speed, potentially insta-killing you if you're not using a Greatshield. These boulders fire just before he uses his drill attack.

For the rest of the fight, focus on re-summoning NPCs, as it’s too risky to engage Radahn directly. Many of his attacks deal heavy damage, so only strike when you see a clear opportunity. Radahn has three different AoE attacks to watch for: Gravitas Pull, which has a massive range and can pull you toward him (though it can be dodged); Gravitas Wave, where he jumps into the air and slams down, releasing a massive energy wave in a cone (which can be rolled through or jumped over on horseback); and Drill Blades, where he spins toward you at high speed, dealing heavy damage (which can be rolled through with good timing).

Magic and Ranged Users

Rock Sling with the Meteorite Staff is a viable strategy, 3-4 shots can bring Radahn to his knees. Beware of his impressive range, Radahn can close any distance between him and you in seconds. Keeping him at the very edge of your range is a crucial part of fighting him. As long as there are NPC to distract him, the fight is not too hard.

Loretta's Greatbow can also be very effective while on horseback, although it does take much longer to cast. Magic Glintblade is a safer, faster alternative, but be wary that overzealous casting can trap you in your casting animation, leaving you easy prey for Radahn.

It is recommended to avoid using Thops' Barrier. It will reduce the damage of certain magical attacks, but will still force the player prone after the attack, leading to Radahn almost definitely killing the player anyways. Thops' Barrier will not work what-so-ever on the arrows, and his multi-Gravitas will deal less damage but leave the player prone. It is currently unknown if Thops' Barrier has any effect on Radahn's quad-Rock Sling attack.

Alternative Strategies

Rotten Breath: Two fully charged casts of Rotten Breath will drain 100% of Radahn's HP, he is extremely vulnerable to this incantation. Use Torrent since it can be cast on horseback. The tricky part is timing it properly so that the cloud makes full contact and doesn't miss. The best opening is when he pauses, either during an animation or after finishing his combo, and is about to be hit by a summon.  Time your cast to make contact just after he gets hit by a summon, this causes him to focus the summon and not you. Once the full cast hits, you'll know he's rotted by the HP bar ticking down and seeing the brown cloud.  The rot persists through his phase change, so wait for it to run out entirely before casting again. Using Godrick's Great Rune and Two Fingers Heirloom gives all classes the proper stats. One fully charged cast of Rotten Breath costs 104 FP so be sure to have the necessary FP.

Horseback cheese: Radahn is a unique shardbearer boss for two reasons. One, allies from the festival can be summoned an unlimited number of times. Two, Torrent can be used in the arena. These mechanics can be cheesed to make this fight relatively easy. Radahn has a high number of melee and AoE strikes, but not many ranged attacks. By using summons to keep him busy, you can ride around hitting him with projectiles causing poison, bleed, or other ailments to chunk down his HP. If you keep a safe distance and watch your recovery time, it's possible to avoid all his attacks by sprinting. As your allies get killed off, find their signs to resummon them. Their signs will typically appear on the peaks of the sand dunes. So long as you keep summoning and remain at a distance, you shouldn't have much trouble with this fight. Rinse and repeat the process until he eventually dies.

Starscourge Radahn Notes & Trivia

  • Upon release, Radahn's boss fight was substantially critized by fans, who took issue with his huge hitboxes, high damage, and the speed of his moveset; many deemed Radahn as an unfair boss. As a result Radahn was nerfed in Patch 1.03, with his hitboxes corrected but also lowering his damage. The nerf was partially reversed in Patch 1.03.03, with the damage restored but his hitboxes remaining corrected.
  • His military rank is "General". According to the game files, his horse's name is Leonard. He learned gravity magic in order not to impair his steed, now that he had grown too large to properly ride it. While preparing his Meteor Crash attack, Leonard is pushed underground.
  • Starscourge Radahn's poise is the highest raw value of that type in Elden Ring (excluding Spirit Ashes).
    • However, is effective poise is at the same level, as there is no poise-damage reduction multiplier. In terms of "effective poise", value attributed to Radahn is not the highest.
  • According to Fromsoft, Starscourge Radahn is placed 5th place in most fought boss gaining 139 million attempts - Elden Ring Stats Reveal How Many Times Players Attempted Malenia

Starscourge Radahn Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Gravity Arrow While at a long range, Radahn will charge his arrows with gravity magic, before firing it. The arrow itself home onto you, and can deal enough damage to knock you off of Torrent. He will usually target the player with this attack. Dodge accordingly. You can use the terrain or obstacles to block the arrows if needed.
Radahn's Rain While at a long range, Radahn will draw back his bow and fire into the air, causing arrows to rain down from the sky, which track the player down. Get onto Torrent and run perpendicular to him.
Scattering Shot Radahn will draw his bow and fire a large spread of arrows. This attack is quite inaccurate, but can hit multiple targets. Dodge as needed. You can use the terrain or obstacles to block the arrows if needed.
Savage Slams and Sweeps Radahn will sometimes attack with semi random sweeps and slams. Most of the time these will be isolated, but he can chain them together up to (typically) a chain of 4. These attacks are slow and predictable. Dodge them in isolation. If he chains 2 slams together, it means he will chain 2 more after. If you notice this, dodge towards him. You are safe under him until he finishes the chain. Get a few free hits in and dodge away when his chain is done.
Double Slam Radahn will jump with both blades above his head and slam them down together. His attack down is faster than expected. It is better to dodge early rather than later. This heavy attack can do heavy damage since you will be hit by both blades. You can either dodge away freely or can dodge towards him for extra damage. It will take Radahn some time to recover from this attack.
Dive Attack Radahn roars with his blades at his side. He then dives forward, swinging twice slowly, then 3 times in quick succession and ending with a ground sweep. Dodge the first slam early and the second slam late. Dodge his next 3 attacks in a similar manner. The sweep can be avoided by rolling or by being too close to Radahn.
Alternatively, you can dodge or run towards him and stand under his feet. From here you cannot be hit and can get free greed damage. Try to stay on his right side, as his final sweep can damage you. The wind of his final sweep can damage you as well, so dodge it and get out from under him. After phase 1.5, on the final sweep make sure to either be far enough behind him that the gravity wave will miss you or be far enough away to give yourself time to dodge it.
Gravity Step While close to Radahn, his foot will surge with gravity energy. 0.25 seconds later he will quickly step back and sweep everything that was close to where he was standing.  This attack is dangerous when you are close. Watch for when gravity surges through his leg and immediately dodge. When he makes his wide swing, either dodge towards him to get extra greed damage, or dodge away for safety.
Quick Swings Radahn will build up with both blades on his right side. His left arm will be across his body, with the blade horizontal with his shoulder. His right arm will be vertical above his right shoulder with his right blade vertical above his head. After a 3 second build up, he will sweep with his left blade followed by a slam with his right. He will immediately sweep back with his left blade from the other side with no delay. He will pause for 0.5 seconds with both his blades on his right side. He will spin with a wide swing of both blades on opposite sides of himself, traveling a large distance. Finally after 0.5 seconds, he will spin with both blades close together on his right. It is possible to stand below Radahn to avoid these attacks, but it is very dangerous, especially after phase 1.5. It is more consistent to avoid his attacks. Be patient during his build up. Dodge left through his first sweep. He should miss you with the immediate slam. Instantly dodge back to the right into his second sweep. Wait 0.5 seconds for his double sweep. Dodge through it to the left. Wait 0.5 seconds again for his final sweep. If you dodge to your front right, you will end close to him and you can get a few free hits in. If you dodge back left of his final attack, you will have a moment to heal if needed.
Forward Slam While close to Radahn, he will sometimes lay both of his blades on top of each other in front of his face and slam forward. Radahn will use this to punish greedy attacks. While right next to him, if you see him lean back with his blades in front of his face, immediately dodge. He will take a moment to recover from this attack. Either dodge forward to get some greedy damage, or dodge away to recompose.
Chasing Slash Radahn will begin to chase and circle around you while he is close. Depending on which way he is circling you, his one blade will be trailing him. After a long build up, he will make a wide swing.  It is very easy to panic roll during this attack. When you notice him chasing you with one of his blades trailing, count 3 seconds and dodge.
Quick Spin Radahn will make 2 spins with quick sweeps all around him. While spinning, he will move quickly and typically move away from you. Stay away from this attack, as it can stunlock and lead you to an early death.

Cragblade (Phase 1.5)

Radahn will move to stand in front of you and clash his blades together. After he will slam straight down and burry his blades in the ground. Gravity will start to surge through his body and blades. When he pulls his blades out of the ground, they will be covered with rocks, causing them to deal extra damage. He will then gain a few new moves after this. Use this opportunity to hit him a few times or heal. He will usually do Starcaller Cry immediately after this transition.

Starcaller Cry

Radahn will cross his swords and release a mighty roar, causing everything around him to be pulled in, similar to Gravitas. He may also do a follow-up, where he slams his swords down in front of him, causing an explosion. Riding on Torrent will either knock you down, or simply deal damage. If you do get pulled in, make sure to immediately get behind him to avoid the follow-up attack.
Cross Dive Only after phase 1.5, Radahn will run away roaring on his horse. He will turn to face you and charge with both his blades crossed in front of him. When he gets close he will jump up and dive down quickly. A gravity wave will erupt from him. After phase 2, if he has his meteors up, he will send those to attack Do not try to dodge through the dive. During his charge and jump, run away. After the dive, dodge through the gravity wave when it reaches you. If meteors are up, dodge side to side as he charges.
Gravity Waves Only after phase 1.5, Radahn will charge his attacks with gravity magic. At the end of attack chains when he does this, he will send out a wave of gravity magic. He will do this on 3 different attacks. As the last part of his cross dive, as the final sweep of his dive attack, and as a stand alone attack where he digs into the earth before sending the wave After phase 1.5, you need to be less greedy and watch for this. It can be deadly if too close but easy to dodge when far enough away. If possible, get onto Torrent and double jump over the wave. Otherwise, it is easier to jump over instead of dodging through it.
Collapsing Stars Only after phase 1.5, Radahn will slam his swords on the ground, sending out a pulse of gravity magic around himself in a dome. Multiple gravity orbs will then appear. After a short delay, they will start flying towards you. If they hit, they will drag you closer to Radahn. Dodge as needed or run perpendicular to him on Torrent. Getting hit by even one can cause you to get hit by the rest, which will also bring you closer to Radahn, giving him an opportunity to hit you with melee. If you are on foot, just dodge to the sides.
Meteor Crash
(Phase 2)
Radahn slams his swords on the ground, before leaping into the air. After a delay, Radahn will fly back into the arena, crashing back to the ground in a glorious explosion. Radahn will use this move when transitioning into phase 2, and every three minutes after that. Heal up as needed. You have a long time here. When you hear the roaring of his flames, look for him. He tends to be in the direction you were facing when he jumped. Ride Torrent perpendicular as soon as the sky goes red and you see Radahn entering the arena. This will likely kill any NPCs remaining, so make sure to go out of your way to re-summon them.
Meteor Summon Only after phase 2. Radahn will slam both blades into the ground. After some build up, he will pull his blades out of the ground and 4 meteors will be flying around him. He may release these to fly at his target at any time. Be prepared to dodge once the meteors are released. They will curved in an arc to catch you. Getting off of Torrent and dodging them can help.
Spiralling Death Only after phase 2, Radahn will quickly move back and hover in the air. He will then begin spinning like a drill while charging at his targets twice in a row. Dodge to the sides or use Torrent and run away.

Festival Mechanic

Radahn can only be fought when the festival is active. Otherwise, the arena where you talk to Jerren will instead contain the Crucible Knight and Misbegotten Warrior fight.

Because the fight takes place during the "combat festival", you're allowed to summon up to six NPCs at a time from summon signs placed all around the map, around spectral banners that hover above the arena. If any of the summons dies, you can resummon them after a 25 second delay. Each of the ten banners scattered across the arena has a specific pool of NPCs that can be summoned. There are enough summons that it's possible to defeat Radahn with summons only. If you travel too far from Radahn, the summons will return to their world.

The following cooperators can be summoned:

  • Blaidd the Half-Wolf
    • Primarily attacks using his Royal Greatsword, sometimes using its skill, Wolf's Assault. He is very tanky, and will often survive through many attacks. He is also the fastest of all the summons. His high health could allow him to survive Radahn’s Meteor Crash attack.
    • Progress through Blaidd's or Ranni's questline is not necessary for him to appear at the festival, meaning it can be the first time the player encounters him.
    • Blaidd has total of 6 summon signs.
  • Alexander the Warrior Jar
    • Alexander will fight by swinging his arms, occasionally doing a spinning attack. He will also sometimes perform an area-of-effect slam with his fist. He is by far the slowest of the summons, but is very tanky.
    • Alexander can only be summoned in Phase 1, and will always die during the transition to Phase 2.
    • Alexander has total of 3 summon signs.
  • Great Horned Tragoth
    • Primarily fights with melee using a Giant-Crusher and an Arbalest in his offhand.
    • When first summoned, he will perform the Casual Greeting gesture, granting it to the player. He will perform the gesture every instance of his "first summon", effectively making him the slowest NPC to make their way to Radahn for the first time.
    • Tragoth has total of 6 summon signs.
    • If he was assassinated for the Volcano Manor, he does not appear as a summon.
  • Patches
    • Will only be available as a summon if you spared him after his boss fight in Murkwater Cave.
    • Flees from the fight a few moments after being summoned, making his other two summon signs unavailable.
  • Lionel the Lionhearted
    • Will primarily utilize melee attacks with his Great Epee, though he tends to approach slowly on some summons and bull-rush on others.
    • He will occasionally cast Rancorcall, summoning many skull projectiles that home in on Radahn. He is tankier than most, but does not deal a great amount of damage.
    • Lionel has total of 6 summon signs.
  • Okina
    • Fights primarily with melee using Rivers of Blood and the Wakizashi. He will sometimes use its skill, Corpse Piler. With enough hits, it's possible for him to proc Bleed.
    • He is very aggressive, but also quite frail, usually being the first summon to fall in battle.
    • Okina has total of 5 summon signs.
  • Finger Maiden Therolina
    • Will be available for the fight regardless of your progression in Ranni or Seluvis's questlines, and will provide the Polite Bow gesture if spoken to before the festival begins.
    • In combat, she attacks by throwing Holy Water Pots. When an ally needs healing, she will occasionally cast Great Heal. Unfortunately, she seems to only do so if player is very close by to the boss, and will opt to chase the player down rather than the boss, unlike other summons. This can make her seem useless for ranged players, as you'll generally be staying away from Radahn so he doesn't smite you between NPC deaths and re-summons.
    • Despite her tendency to prioritize healing, if other summons are low on health, she seems to mostly - if not completely - disregard the player's health. However, she does not seem to make any effort to actually move to the NPCs she's attempting to heal, making her more or less become a sitting duck for several seconds. If the target she's attempting to heal doesn't have its HP increased, she will attempt to keep healing them until either they go above a certain threshold, die, or the player wanders too far from the target.
    • Therolina is scripted to follow the player instead of attacking Radahn. So players need to stay close to the other summons if they want to make full use of her healing
    • Therolina has total of 5 summon signs.
  • Castellan Jerren
    • Does good damage attacking with his Flamberge with the Flaming Strike Ash of War, but he cannot tank quite as well.
    • Progress through Sellen's questline does not determine whether or not he's available for the fight, as Radahn must be killed in order for Jerren to move in accordance with Sellen's quest.
    • Jerren has total of 6 summon signs.

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirits of two of Radahn's soldiers.

Both spirits wield fiery weapons to perform powerful skills. Such is their valor that they will immediately attack after being summoned.

General Radahn's soldiers were all reputed to be masterful warriors, and it was popularly said that the Redmanes knew no weakness.

Redmane Surcoat

Armor worn by soldiers who fought by General Radahn's side.

The surcoat depicts a red-maned lion raising a sword in the image of Radahn. Thus, they were redmanes, and all proved they were worthy of the name.

Redmane Knight Ogha Ashes

Legendary ashen remains. Use to summon the spirit of Ogha, the Redmane Knight.

Spirit of a mighty knight versed in the use of a greatbow. A valiant warrior who will attack immediately after being summoned.

The longest-serving member of the Redmane Knights, Ogha studied techniques to manipulate gravity alongside Radahn. May use a rain of gravitational arrows in response to a war cry, but only once.

Eccentric's Hood

A pointy, ragged hood. Worn by the knight Jerren.

The hood hides an aged, bearded mask.

Jerren served General Radahn as a guest commander, and they are said to have sworn an oath of honorable death to one another.

Gravity Well

One of the glintstone sorceries that manipulates gravitational forces.

Fires a projectile of condensed gravitational force. Those struck by it will be pulled toward the caster. Charging enhances potency.

A gravitational technique studied by the young Radahn. His master was an Alabaster Lord with skin of stone.

Redmane Fire Pot

Craftable item prepared using a ritual pot. Engraved with the crest of red-maned lion.

Throw at enemies to inflict heavy fire damage.

Even today, the survivors of Radahn's battalion employ fire to stave off the scarlet rot.

Remembrance of the Wild Boar Rider

Remembrance of Commander Gaius, hewn into the Scadutree.

The power of its namesake can be unlocked by the Finger Reader. Alternatively, it can be used to gain a great bounty of runes.

Both were as elder brothers to the lion, and both were cursed from birth. In spite of, or perhaps because of this very reason, Gaius was both Messmer's friend and the leader of his men.

Blades of Stone

Gravity-manipulating sorcery of Commander Gaius.

Pulls blade-like clumps of rock from the earth. Charge to form three successive clumps.

Gaius and Radahn were good rivals in their youth, and this sorcery is a product of their friendly competition.

Dialogues Related to Starscourge Radahn

Witch-Hunter Jerren

General Radahn is cursed ever to wander. Eaten from the inside, by Malenia's scarlet rot, his wits are long gone. Now he gathers the corpses or former friends and foes alike, gorging on them, like a dog. Howling at the sky.

Champions, welcome! The stars have aligned! The festival is nigh! General Radahn, mightiest demigod of the Shattering, awaits you! A celebration of war! The Radahn Festival!

At last, the war festival has ended. Brave champion you have our gratitude. The Celebration was spectacular. General Radahn is surely pleased. Festering with rot, and crippled by madness, all he wanted was an honorable death. Finally, my work is done. I am no longer bound to this fortress. I have a task in mind...

Gideon Ofnir

General Radahn, the famed Red Lion and scourge of the stars, is a ferocious warrior. He fought Malenia and her rot to a standstill in the Caelid Wilds to Limgrave's east. And now Caelid has been engulfed by the scarlet rot, even approaching the region is no mean feat. I've heard survivors of Radahn's army are still in the wilds, staving off the rot with fire. And if it's true, I suspect Radahn is still there as well, in Caelid. Though I doubt he much resembles his former self anymore...

Sword Monuments

The Starscourge Conflict
Radahn alone holds Sellia secure
And stands tall, to shatter the stars

The Battle of Aeonia
Radahn and Malenia locked in stalemate
Then, the scarlet rot blooms

I completely understand why people like him (music, atmosphere, story and the whole festival mechanic) but the fight itself is kinda mid. somehow i just never understood fights with such big enemies that you straight up can't see what the bos is doing most of the time

      • Anonymous

Wish i fought this guy earlier, i went in so overprepared at lvl 109 with a 20+ weapon and 50 vig. First tried it and didn't enjoy the fight at all. Even had to create a new save file just so that i could enjoy the fight and see the rest of his moveset and lines.

When I finally learned how not to get into an endless circle of me and Radahn trying to get to each other's rear, I became all knowing

          • Anonymous

The best boss in the game. Its movements, music, atmosphere, and story are all excellent. No offense to the rage-quitters who got crushed and those who beat it at level 150. At the right level and without summons, it's incredible.

            • Anonymous

the move where he sends out the 4 rocks is so bs they activate at such a random time you literally can never know when youre mere moments away from instant death

              • Anonymous

Just beat this guy with my shitass build I used in the entire game and bc I am a masochist I used against him as well, took me +150 tries because I suck at this game but I did it. Don't let his attacks scare you, you can beat him, it's just gonna take a while for you to learn his patterns and etc. Don't feel ashamed if you want to change builds or use mimic tear, but just know that it is possible. I ran a quality dryleaf arts with no armor and no summons, if you are curious

                • Anonymous

Im trying to no hit him and after some attacks he spins extremely quick with both of his swords i have not been able to dodge that a single time and i hate that attack so much what makes it worse is that besides that he is one of the most fun bosses in the game it probably is my fault but it just feels so out of place to have this attack it feels strange but it has to be dodgable since he can do it at any time

                  • Anonymous

First boss to miss because he's actually aiming at you. I'll always summon at least Blaidd and Alexander for the hype but its so much easier to just whack his balls as he whiffs every swing

                    • Anonymous

look at the two most recent degenarate ragebaiters, like, we know you are clowns and bad at the game and have all right to complain, but the truth is you both are cringe and childish, you both goon so much for Malenia that you even think she will appear irl to marry you, and for that you guys hate Radahn simply because: "he is rival in game to my fan favorite FICTIONAL character = bad". Absolute childish fanboys, specially the absolute PoS people who type Fraudahn (or Fraudlenia, because this pathetic behavior happens the other way around too)

                      • Anonymous

Fraudahn, the biggest fraud in the Elden Ring. Wants to idolize Godfrey but has poor strength. Gets beaten badly by Margit with a stick. Then to cover his poor strength learns gravity magic. The so call biggest chud is an Intelligence user. Talk about being pathetic. The biggest feat is holding bunch of rocks using gravity, a basic ability of Stone lords and Astels. Yet fanboys shamelessly tout him as holding whole stars and solar systems or even universe. Talk about being overhyped.

Is a Warmonger and enjoys slaughtering innocents. A sight visible throughout his castle. Cant defeat a blind, amputated, disabled woman. Gets brain rotted and turns into a zombie. Becomes a cannibal dog eating corpses while torturing his poor donkey. Dies like a rabid dog.

Then gets resurrected in Mogh's body. Forgets half his fighting techniques and immediately falls to his knees despite having a strong body. Then gets mind controlled by a femboy twink. Needs backshots of said twink's forbidden juice in his buttocks to have a fighting chance. Goes on to become biggest garbage fight by using his flashbangs which results in blindness and seizures. Then dies again while having the twink still inside him.

Talk about one of the most overhyped, fraudulent character. Yet fanboys have trouble accepting the truth. Maybe they are similarly brain rotted like their fraud idol.

You guys use summons? I literally just soloed Starscourge on New Game Plus after the DLC as a mage. Without dying. At all.

it says that alexander always dies in the transition to phase 2 even though I've seen him survive way longer.

One of the most well animated bosses in the entire series next to Gundyr. It was so disappointing to see how robotic Consort’s animations looked in comparison to this.

                              • I'm sorry but you CANNOT tell me he let himself get to this state because he secretly fully wanted to marry Miquella. He held the stars in place because he wanted his destiny (and therefore his oath) to never come to pass.

Man, Jeren’s speech before, Radahn’s state in the aftermath of an epic battle, fighters from all corners across the lands between hearing the tale and joining in arms. Hosts summoning every one of them and dying in one hit. You can’t not love this boss.

                                  • Anonymous

Probably the first boss in Fromsoft history that's only fun during your first playthrough with summons because of the spectacle and scale of the battle.
Boring on replays, absolutely **** in solo (very easy to punish his lunge, but the fight takes too long and I hate bosses where you run away most of the time instead of actively engaging them).

                                    • Anonymous

This fight is most fun solo on horseback. There are only two problems: the gravity pull, which is countered by eating some raisins, and the drill move, which I just hop off Torrent for.

                                      • Anonymous

Finally beat him on a true RL1 run and I have to say: this boss is pretty bad, but mostly because of the camera. I played unlocked most of the time and still couldn’t fucking see anything half the time. 2/10 boss one of the worst for low level runs imo better to just spam poison and rot.

                                        • Anonymous

alright listen up chumps , when u use the teleporter instantly use torrent andstart running behind untill either "radahn dissapears from screen" or "you see the Spear and a few other weapons left of you pass through" it'll lead to the boss not doing his bs arrows and come to you giving you enough time to buff up while he arrives

                                          • Anonymous

Doing this fight severely underleveled and without rot is just not fun. I can't no-hit this guy's second phase for the life of me.

                                            • Anonymous

imagine being so cool that you beat your "unbeatible" sister and force her to use her last ditch, kamikaze nuke attack, and survive it. Even when your some husk of a man your old soldiers cant kill you and hold a festival in your honor to give you a proper farwell. And even then your twink brother brings you back in the body of your other half brother to be his consort.

                                              no glaze btw

Im currently working on a homebrew RPG system based on Elden Ring. Does anyone know if Radahn is circumsized?

                                                • Anonymous

Wow I've been impressed that this boss fight was some kind of "true rpg experience"
You can take the challenge and solo-melee him.
You can gang up on him with summons or just become a pacifist and use summons only.
You can spam spells from afar or cast rotten breath on him.
The only thing missing is "persuading him to give up with a high charisma speech only character" lol

Bullshit. if they die two times they ‘return to their world’ and their summon sign disappears from the arena

The camera was my worst enemy this fight. All that said, a fun boss. Reminds me of shadow of the colossus in how open the arena is.

                                                              • Anonymous

This guy is a different beast on RL1 with no summons. I actually had to learn his attacks because I had no summons aggroing him. And after doing a bunch of attempts with this guy on RL1, he is definitely meant to be a raid boss. So many attacks that have huge range and can really punish you.

                                                                • Anonymous

Killed this guy on the first try in less than a minute. Not sure whether something went wrong or I was just overleveled for him, but since I ventured to Caelid right after Limgrave and Liurnia it's more likely to be the former. All it took was to get close to him on Torrent ASAP and then just spam light attacks. His close combat attacks are so easy to dodge and if he gains some distance just jump back onto Torrent and repeat. Bro didn't even get a chance for his meteor thing

                                                                  • Anonymous

The run up (especially rain of arrows) sucks, but the fight itself is pretty fun, and dodging his two big gravity attacks at the end is Absolute Cinema.

Like every other fight in the game, it’s better to do solo because it makes his attacks more predictable.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Why do people like him?

                                                                      • Tbh this fight is still annoying lmao, at least trying it solo on horse back it's impossible to dodge some stuff he does. Why do we always get a dogwater horse

                                                                        • Anonymous

Who wouldn't go mad after thousands of years of your family jewels being stabbed, jabbed, slashed etc. Poor bastard.

                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Should have done altus first to get the ritual shield talisman as he didn’t have a single attack that did not one shot me without a rune arc + opalin hardtear. No summons of course.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Like it was a cool and wholesome fact, but he's still a warlord. And having the whole horse gravity thing said 99% of the time in any discussion of elden ring made it more annoying than a cool fact.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

Ansbach: "As if using Lord Mohg to gain entrance to the land of shadow were not enough, [Miquella] plans to use his corpse as the vessel of his king consort. He has forsaken Lord Mohg's soul. He desires only his empty shell."

                                                                                          • Anonymous

It's radahn's body posessed by mohg's soul. Mohg had his taint somewhat tickled by little marika and mohg fell in love with the maggot. That's where the "consort" comes from in Consort Radahn chat. That is the actual lore chat. And look, didn't need a 5 hour video to explain it. Wow.

                                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                                              • Anonymous

Considering that his backstory was that he was essentially nuked by rot and is currently living in a rot-induced craze, you would think he would be used to it by now or have become resistant to it.

                                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                                  • This is one of those fights to me where the less tries it takes to beat it the more fun it is, I think. The first couple times you see this fight ever is extremely over-the-top bombastic and awesome, with the meteor and the giant AOE and all your summons running into battle with you. If you struggle with it, it can be a slog to repeat just because you have to hoof it over to him every time and he's got a large health bar. Even worse if you're trying to do it "without cheesing" him, or something. Personally I'm pretty bad at this fight so it's hit or miss for me, but the theatrics are S+.

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

It's my first time on Souls Game and I just did so many things before this encounter... I was o 102 level... and it was so fk easy and fast... I wanted to die as I saw in another videos, but I feel.I should deal with a Level of 40 to have a better experience.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

To me, he was just a pathetic warmonger trying to follow in the footsteps of someone he didn't understand so the adoration was very off-putting. Come Shadow of the Erdtree, the monkey paw curls. The diehard Radahn fanboys have completely warped the narrative of SotE while "Fraudahn" haters are genuinely some of the most obnoxious people on this planet.

Be careful what you wish for, folks.

I'm doing a RL1 run and it's really annoying me. like I have to roll to dodge his shotgun arrow shot but I have to be on torrent to dodge the tracking rain of arrows? so I just have to get hit?

                                                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                                                            - Brainrotted in the literal sense by Malenia, eating corpses like a zombie who just wants to die
                                                                                                            - Got his soul stolen by Miquella only for the twink to put it inside his step-brother's deceased body and then brainwash him into his forced lap dog

                                                                                                            My General deserved better

Even if i dodge the initial hit - there's a lingering hitbox city of a city that delivers SO much damage. I'm talking oneshotting 1450 HP coopeator with ~10% defenses.
                                                                                                              No idea.

If you guys, like me, didn't know, here's the rundown of the Radahn nerf: They corrected his hitboxes in 1.03 in march 2022 because people were complaining (more than usual) about getting hit by invisible hitboxes. Unintentionally this greatly reduced Radahn's damage, like you could tank 4 hits with like 25 vigor. They reversed the damage reductions in patch 1.03.3 in April 2022.

I always thought the hitboxes were a big deal, and they probably were, but I think the main reason people are obsessed with pre-nerf radahn is because there was a 1 month period where he truly was a pushover. Also they want to feel superior for accomplishing a feat that is practically impossible to complete now.

                                                                                                                • Anonymous

Can someone edit the lore part to cut out some of these embarrassing misreadings?
"Radahn was awarded many nicknames and titles during his life due to his many accomplishments and feats, among those are: "The Red Lion", "The Great Lion", "The Champion's Cub", "The Proud Red Lion", "The Starcaller", "The Loyal Blade", "The Champion of the Festival" (and those mentioned earlier:) "Starscourge", "Conqueror of the Stars"."

When Miquella says "My Loyal Blade", he's obviously referring to Malenia, and when he says "Champion of the Festival", he's obviously referring to the player character, thanking us and Malenia for putting down Radahn so that he can be revived. ****ing unbelievable that someone can have such low comprehension as to not understand this.

                                                                                                                  • Anonymous

Nobody will believe me.

                                                                                                                    • Anonymous

The summon mechanic needs an update on this page. The summon signs WILL reappear. It takes a few seconds after the character dies, and there is a slight randomized spawn location. There is a tear drop shaped area of where the spawns can happen. You start in the tail portion of the tear drop, and the rest rounds out on the three hills that Radahn is on.

You can stagger/stage at intervals the summons, then just run around summoning. You can beat Radahn at super low levels with 25-30 endurance and Torrrent, it just will take a little bit. Dodge his initial long range attacks. When the summons start meat grinding, just keep distance. When he does his dive attack you are already running on torrent to get out of the way. In addition he targets you with it so you can kite the attack away from the summons, and then run back towards the summons to resume the meat grinder.

                                                                                                                      • Aye guys, he was definetly harder at launch. Took me 5 days to beat him at level 25, 20 Vigor, +3 Broadsword, no idea how to use buffs, mix flasks and spread my stat points properly and one Talisman equiped. Yesterday I beat him first try at level 60, 40 Vigor, +15 weapon while using Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength, Life+Stamina regen tears and three optimized Talismans. They totally butchered him guys, it's Radohver.

This is hot take, but I think PCR is an even match for Goddess of Rot Malenia (even without Miquella's help). Consort Radahn is confirmed to be his "prime" version, being at the peak of his physical prowess, he's much stronger than his Aoenia war self who could fight Malenia to a standstill. After transforming into her Goddess form Malenia didn't get physically stronger in any way, judging by the fact that her stats in both 1st and 2nd phase of her boss fight are the same, she only gets the scarlet rot hax and some new attacks. Consort will be basically ragdolling her in 1v1 and Malenia can potentially win only due to scarlet rot.

Use the carian staff for casting with metiorie staff for the buff, then switch between his swords, Freyas great sword with crag blade and the sword lance with spinning gravity thrust
