Demigods | Elden Ring Wiki

From Elden Ring Wiki

Demigods are beings of incredible power in Elden Ring and comprise the royalty of those in the Lands Between. These deific figures descend from either Queen Marika the Eternal or her second Lord consort Radagon of the Golden Order. In the base game most of the Demigods go on to claim Great Runes of the shattered Elden Ring and vie for power in a struggle known as The Shattering. The first of the Demigods would be the Golden Linage descending from Queen Marika and Godfrey, First Elden Lord. Radagon would first wed Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon and together they have Demigod children who became prominent members of the Carian Royal Family. This family would become fractured when Radagon leaves Rennala to become the second Elden Lord after Godfrey is divested of Grace. Radagon and Marika have Demigod children together who would also gain the title of Empyreans.

Most of these Demigods will drop Remembrances when defeated, allowing the player to trade them in for spells, weapons, or items unique to the Demigods at the Roundtable Hold with Enia. They can also be used to gain a significant amount of runes instead. Additionally after their defeat some of the Demigods apparel will become available for purchase from Enia. Some apparel of the Demigods can be altered at sites of grace but requires the Golden Tailoring Tools and Golden Sewing Needle from the to do so. Boc can also provide this service for free after progressing his questline and after acquiring one of the applicable armor pieces. The applicable armor pieces are; Radahn's Lion Armor, Lord of Blood's Robe, and Messmer's Helm sote new.

Godfrey, First Elden Lord

The first demigods were the Elden Lord Godfrey and his offspring, the golden lineage. Godfrey was a ferocious warrior. When he vowed to become a lord, he took the Beast Regent Serosh upon on his back to suppress the ceaseless lust for battle that raged within. The age of the Erdtree had begun amongst conflict, when Godfrey was known as the lord of the battlefield. He led the War against the Giants. Faced the Storm Lord, alone. And then, there came a moment. When his last worthy enemy fell. And it was then, as the story is told, that the hue of Lord Godfrey's eyes had faded. Godfrey was divested of his grace, becoming Tarnished, he then took his kinfolk and left the Lands Between. After the Long March of the Tarnished came to an end, Godfrey divested himself of kingship, becoming a simple warrior once more.

Godwyn the Golden

Godwyn the Golden was the son of Queen Marika and Lord Godfrey, and an important figure of the Golden Linage. His victorious role in the Ancient Dragon War earned him much acclaim as when the conflict concluded he had also earned the friendship of the ancient dragon Fortissax. He would come to wield the dragon's lightning as his own. On The Night of the Black Knives, Godwyn would be assassinated in soul and his body left to fester. Being the first of the Demigods to die after the Rune of Death had been sealed away, his passing was greatly mourned and attempts to bring him a true death did not succeed. Buried beneath Leyndell at the Erdtree's roots, deathroot emerged and spread across the land through the underground root system. Godwyn had become the Prince of Death, whose vile visage takes form in pustules and cysts.

Godrick the Grafted

Godrick the Grafted is the last descendant of the Golden Linage and bears a Great Rune. Declared weak by many, Godrick has been pushed out of his ancestral home and now resides in Stormveil Castle, using his army to capture prospective tarnished for the sake of grafting them onto himself in the belief that he will become stronger. Other victims of his include the Warhawks around the castle and innocents including Roderika's traveling party who left her a single memento. Godrick was likely responsible for attacking Leyndell in the First Defense of Leyndell, resulting in Godefroy's capture and he and his men having to flee from the capital. Still he hopes one day they'll return together to their home, bathed in rays of gold.

General Radahn is the son of Radagon and Rennala and a member of the Carian Royals. He also bears a Great Rune. With this magic he was able to still ride his cherished horse even after he grew in size. Waging war even against the stars, Radahn held them in place and earned the Starscourge moniker. He took part in many conflicts during the Shattering and engaged Malenia in one final confrontation in Caelid. Now mindless from scarlet rot, he still roams the battlefield.

Miquella the Kind

Kindly Miquella is one of the Twin Prodigies sired by Radagon and Queen Marika, and bore a Great Rune. Miquella was an Empyrean, and so a potential candidate to surpass his mother. Due to an affliction he was born with, this was unlikely to happen. Born to be forever young, Miquella sought out a way to cure his sister, bring a true death to Godwyn, and bring amnesty to those shunned by the Golden Order. Miquella's other half, St. Trina, could grant even the most tortured souls rest. With his ability to charm others Miquella wished to create a new order with his Haligtree which would allow him to grow into a god. All of his efforts failed and his body lies inert inside its cocoon. It seems without the strength of a Lord, Miquella could never bring an age of compassion.

Swearing to be her brother's protector, Malenia fought in numerous battles in his name and fought General Radahn to a standstill in Caelid, ultimately blooming into a Scarlet Aeonia that ravaged the land. Escorted back to the Haligtree by a heroic knight, she waits for her brother's return.
er melina intro 2

Melina the Kindling Maiden

Melina is heavily hinted to be the daughter of Queen Marika and so a demigod like the rest of her kin. She behaves much like a spirit, "burned and bodiless". By her own admission she was born at the foot of the Erdtree, and she can recall Spoken Echoes of Queen Marika at select locations. From within the Erdtree "her mother" tasked her with an important mission, and so she has searched the Lands Between for a worthy tarnished who will pursue the Elden Ring and to make an accord with them. She is likely the younger sister mentioned by Messmer's Kindling, the one who "bore a vision of fire".

  • A Spirit NPC at the Church of Pilgrimage recounts that "... The mausoleum prowls. Cradling the soulless demigod. O Marika, Queen Eternal. He is your unwanted child." They can be denoted by their chiming bell, including the one the spirit speaks of.
  • Sir Gideon has various remarks about the demigod shardbearers, and he rewards the player for information about those he has yet to locate.

Amounting only to sacrifices.

Prince of Death's Cyst

A fetid, overgrown cyst taken from facial flesh.

Mohg's Shackle

A fetish bathed in golden magic. 'Shackles were used to bind the accursed people called the Omen, 'and these ones were made to keep a particular Omen under 'strictest confinement.

Man-Serpent Ashes

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. 'Use to summon the spirit of a man-serpent.

This cursemark was carved at the moment of Death of the first demigod, 'and should have taken the shape of a circle.

Ranni was the first of the demigods whose flesh perished, 'while the Prince of Death perished in soul alone.

Prologue Text

Marika's offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering.

A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.

Miriel, Pastor of Vows

You wish to know more of Lord Radagon? Lord Radagon was a great champion, possessed of flowing red locks. He came to these lands at the head of a great golden host, when he met Lady Rennala in battle. He soon repented his territorial aggressions though, and became husband to the Carian Queen.
'However, when Godfrey, first Elden Lord, was hounded from the Lands Between, Radagon left Rennala to return to the Erdtree Capital, becoming Queen Marika's second husband and King Consort, taking the title... of second Elden Lord. The mystery endures, to this day... As to why Lord Radagon would cast Lady Rennala aside... and moreover...why a mere champion would be chosen for the seat of Elden Lord.

Finger Reader Enia

Ahh, Great Runes are the stuff of demigods: the children of the goddess, Queen Marika. She who is vessel of the Elden Ring. Tainted by the strength of their runes, her children warred, but none could become Elden Lord. And so grace was extended, to your kind, the Tarnished.

Listen, the Fingers speak.

"The Greater Will has long renounced the demigods. Tarnished, show no mercy. Have their heads. Take all they have left." ...Indeed. But remember one thing. The demigods are each and all the direct offspring of Queen Marika. Godrick the Grafted was but a distant relation... The runt of the litter, his divine blood sorely diluted.
