Shattering Crystal is a Sorcery in Nightreign. Magic Spells in Nightreign are slightly different than in Elden Ring, a total of two Sorceries are preloaded to a Staff and no longer have Stat Requirements. You cast these Sorceries by pressing R1 or R2 on your controller.
Weapons in Nightreign are randomly acquired from Chests and from Field Boss drops, and will be different each run. Note that since there are no Stats in Nightreign you can mix Sorceries and Incantations effectively, and you can even equip two Staves or a Staff and Seal in either hand and cast up to 4 spells without weapon swapping.
Sorcery of the mysterious Crystalians.
Creates a mass of crystal, then shatters it in a forward burst.
Charging enhances potency.
The Crystalians are inorganic beings, yet they live. They cleave close to the ideals of the primeval current, and as such, they are revered guests of the sorcerers.
ER Nightreign Shattering Crystal Notes & Tips
- Revive Damage: 11 per hit (up to 33 total revive damage at point-blank range)
- Stamina Cost: 35 (46 charged)
- Deals Magic Damage
- This spell is one of a few that costs more FP when it is charged.
- Shattering Crystal used to be the primary spell for both the Crystal Staff and the Rotten Crystal Staff. However, as of Patch 1.03.2, the Rotten Crystal Staff's primary spell was changed to Crystal Release.
- This patch also increased the FP cost of Shattering Crystal. The uncharged version increased from 21 to 27, and the charged version increased from 32 to 38.
- Prior to Patch 1.02.2, this spell was bugged and did not receive a damage bonus from "Improved Charged Sorceries" passives.
All Glintstone Staves for the Shattering Crystal Spell in Nightreign
AnonymousThis spell is not actually that good. It and slicer are just weirdly popular among cheaters. Probably only because Duchess has INT scaling and can replay the damage.
But... Yeah if you don't use cheated relics it's probably overhyped. It's somewhat mediocre in trios. Most people who build around it are going down 3+ times per boss in Deep of Night. Because it's close range, slow, and dedicated builds typically neglect defensive perks (even though they don't have to).
You actually need quite a few relic bonuses to make it hit as hard as you'd expect it to, and non-cheaters are unlikely to have enough without relying on 1-effect relics that are sort of crippling them in other ways.
However it is decent for reviving and it's often the best damage source in early/midgame

AnonymousThis thing just breaks the game. Everytime i see a recluse running with this stuff in depth +4, i already know i have just to hold the aggro and see the boss dying in less 30 sek.

AnonymousLiterally fought gladius and had a good setup. Did the first charged attack, 1/8th of his health gone. Yeah nah, this spell is legit broken asf.

AnonymousThis and +damage to crystalian sorceries on all relics is the most damaging setup in the game

Anonymousi think it does physical damage bc this destoys the regular moth guy and the red moth guy in everdark sentient pest fight even though theyre 50% magic resist, did 1100 per charged cast with a couple passive buffs+evergaol

AnonymousA pretty good but nothing special spell in normal ER, but somehow the fucking GOAT in NR. This spell is so insanely strong in NR lol.
