Black Flame Blade is an Incantation in Nightreign. Magic Spells in Nightreign are slightly different than in Elden Ring, a total of two Incantations are preloaded to a Sacred Seal and no longer have Stat Requirements. You cast these Incantations by pressing R1 or R2 on your controller.
Weapons in Nightreign are randomly acquired from Chests and from Field Boss drops, and will be different each run. Note that since there are no Stats in Nightreign you can mix Sorceries and Incantations effectively, and you can even equip two Staves or a Staff and Seal in either hand and cast up to 4 spells without weapon swapping.

Black flame is weighty. After dealing damage it continues to sap foes' HP for a very short time.

- Apart from certain weapons having a preload of spells, weapons now have a passive benefit that applies regardless of which hand or slot you put it in, as long as it is equipped, and you can equip up to 6 weapons at once.

How long does the effect last? It feels like short, can only get 3-4 arrow shots in before it dissipates

Insane on Rev's claws especially when you stack spell duration.

Really great with bows, but it's crucial to known that it doesn't stack with multiple shots. Reapplying black flame burn to a target that was already burning will just restart its timer. Also, with arrow barrages will only apply the black flame effect once.

Works on bows, insane dps when used with barrage or rain of arrows or even the standard triple shot heavy on ironeye
