PRO TIP:
Before they die and explode on you (probably insta killing one or two of you)
Just GRAB them and THROW them either away from you, or at the other mephits that you are not in melee with.
This made the encounter like 3 times easier for me once I realized I could do this. ALSO, because of how weak these guys are, you have pretty good odds of being successful, even with a character whos main stat isnt STR.
(If you can immobolize the wood guys first, try throwing a few of these guys at em and killing just one of the mephits. Odds are that one mephit is gonna die and cause a chain reaction, which would also kill anything else near it cause like a bunch of them combined can do like 40 damage, its kinda nuts.
