Saros has over 15 different Main Weapons and 4 Power Weapons that you can unlock as you progress through the different biomes in the game. Weapons are usually found inside white, red, and yellow locked containers, and you can even reroll to potentially get a weapon you would like to use in your current run. Here is some information on how to use every weapon in the game and which biome each one starts appearing in.
Unlocking all weapons is one of the requirements for the Full Arsenal trophy in Saros. Players also have to defeat 25 enemies with each weapon, and a good way to track these kills is by checking a weapon’s percentage in the Databank and getting all of them close to 20%.

|---|---|---|
|
Eruptor Handcannon |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
This weapon has a triple burst primary fire, while the Alt-Fire charges multiple shots into the barrel to unleash a spray of bullets with high recoil and spread. |
|
Ricochet Handcannon |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
The second Handcannon fires single shots that can pierce enemies and bounce off walls to hit multiple foes at the same time. Its Alt-Fire makes the weapon shoot much faster, making short work of hostiles. |
|
Marksman Handcannon |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
The only Handcannon without Auto-Hit, this weapon has a triple burst primary fire. Its Alt-Fire, however, makes the gun more reliable, as you can charge a single power shot that marks a hostile on hit. You can then use your primary fire on the marked hostile without having to worry about the weapon lacking Auto-Hit. |
|
Tactical Rifle |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
Using the primary fire of the Tactical Rifle makes it shoot at a normal rate. Holding down L2 for the Alt-Fire increases the fire rate the longer you keep the button held. |
|
Onslaught Rifle |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
The Onslaught Rifle does not have the Auto-Hit feature. Its primary fire is similar to the Tactical Rifle, but the Alt-Fire slows the fire rate to double the projectiles fired while aiming for enemy weak points. |
|
Smart Rifle |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
A Smart Rifle that fires red colored projectiles with its primary fire, while the Alt-Fire makes the bullets spread and home in on enemies. |
|
Horde Shotgun |
Ancient Depths (Biome 2) |
The Horde Shotgun has a wide spread primary fire and is a semi-automatic shotgun. Pressing L2 changes the barrel into a vertical spread, allowing you to hit enemies farther away with more precision. |
|
Stalwart Shotgun |
Ancient Depths (Biome 2) |
This has the same primary fire as the previous shotgun, but the Alt-Fire shoots a wall of projectiles that slowly move toward a hostile. You can use your primary fire on this wall to make the projectiles move faster. |
|
Annihilator Shotgun |
Ancient Depths (Biome 2) |
This has the same primary fire as the Horde Shotgun, but pressing L2 turns the gun into a grenade launcher. The grenade deals area damage when it comes into contact with a target or surface. |
|
Repeater Crossbow |
Shattered Descent (Biome 3) |
The primary fire of this Crossbow shoots a wide bolt. Its Alt-Fire launches a single shot that, upon hitting an enemy or terrain, splits into multiple homing projectiles. |
|
Impactor Crossbow |
Shattered Descent (Biome 3) |
This Crossbow has a primary fire where you can charge a volley of bolts and either dash or release R2 to fire. Holding the trigger longer adds more bolts to the volley. The Alt-Fire makes the weapon shoot a single projectile that, when it hits an enemy weak point, spawns homing projectiles. |
|
Bifuracator Crossbow |
Shattered Descent (Biome 3) |
The Bifurcator Crossbow allows you to charge a shot and fire it by releasing the R2 button or dashing. If you hold the charge longer, more projectiles are released, and all of them home in on an enemy. Its Alt-Fire is the same as the Repeater Crossbow. |
|
Ripsaw Chakram |
Acolyte's Haven (Biome 6) |
Holding down R2 on the first Chakram weapon shoots out discs that get embedded into enemies. Using the Alt-Fire makes use of those embedded discs to deal constant damage to enemies until they die or you stop using the Alt-Fire. |
|
Reaping Chakram |
Acolyte's Haven (Biome 6) |
The primary fire for this weapon allows you to throw a disc and return it by pressing L2. Holding L2 after the disc returns spawns a ring around Arjun that deals damage to nearby enemies. |
|
Myriad Chakram |
Acolyte's Haven (Biome 6) |
The Myriad Chakram lets you fire discs rapidly with the help of Auto-Hit. Its Alt-Fire disables Auto-Hit, but the discs can target enemy weak points, allowing them to return immediately. |

Prominence |
Shattered Rise (Biome 1) |
Holding down L2 and firing with R2 launches an explosive projectile that damages enemies in a large area and can stagger them as well. |
|
Dispiritor |
Ancient Depths (Biome 2) |
The second Power Weapon deals damage over time, as you can constantly aim the swarm of projectiles at multiple enemies. If an enemy dies from this Power Weapon, they will leave behind a cell that fires small projectiles all around it. |
|
Nova Lance |
Desecrated Fortress (Biome 5) |
You can charge a powerful energy shot by holding down L2 and R2, and upon releasing it, the shot will pierce through multiple enemies, dealing significant damage to weak points. |
|
Illumine |
Cathedral (Biome 7) |
The last Power Weapon lets you charge and fire a beam that constantly damages an enemy as long as you have Power. |

What Are The Best Weapons in Saros?
All the weapons in Saros are quite good, with a few exceptions, but you can comfortably complete biomes with all of them, especially once you reach the mid to endgame. Despite that, there are weapons I would personally rank higher than others, mainly because of their sheer damage output and how easy they are to use.
After putting almost 35 hours into the game, three weapons stood out the most to me. Starting from the bottom is the Ricochet Handcannon. This is the second weapon you get in the game, and players coming from Returnal who did not use the pistols much will be excited to hear that handcannons in Saros have received the attention they deserve.
The Ricochet Handcannon can clear out rooms in seconds thanks to its piercing hostile traits. Simply pressing L2 for the Alt-Fire and spamming shots damages multiple enemies at once, making light work of most rooms in every biome. The only reason the weapon is not in my top two is because of how it performs against bosses. Since bosses are single targets, you cannot really take full advantage of the weapon.
Coming in at number two is the Annihilator Shotgun. This is another fun weapon to use, and despite the Spitmaw Blaster from Returnal being more average, shotguns in Saros work a bit differently. The primary fire of the Annihilator Shotgun works like any other shotgun, but the Alt-Fire is where the real destruction is. Pressing L2 turns the gun into a grenade launcher capable of shredding an enemy’s health bar in one or two shots.
Even in boss fights, if you can consistently land the grenades, you will see the boss’s health bar drop extremely fast, pushing it into the next phase. While it can be a bit difficult to aim the grenade launcher at smaller flying enemies, you can still rely on the primary fire in those situations and not worry too much.
My number one weapon is the Repeater Crossbow. It is easily one of the least complex weapons to use, and not only that, it does most of the work for you. I know this kind of weapon may not excite everyone, but that does not change the fact that it feels overpowered to use. The primary fire shreds enemies, and higher proficiency Crossbows have faster firing speeds.
The main reason the weapon is so good is its Alt-Fire, which allows you to aim anywhere on terrain or the ground and still hit multiple enemies at once. Its projectiles can track, meaning they constantly chase and damage enemies in a room without you having to worry about where they are. In boss fights, the weapon holds up extremely well, and you can always switch to the primary fire while mixing in the Power Moves, which makes most boss fights far less challenging.
