How to Get the True Ending in Saros?

Towards the end of the third act in Saros, players will explore the final biome in the game, the Yellow Shore. After reaching the end of the biome and defeating the Overlord awaiting them there, the ending will play out, followed by the credits, but this is not the end of the story. Saros has an additional epilogue section where players can unlock the alternate ending, and the requirements for that are what we will cover in this guide.

What to Do After Act 3 in Saros?

Once the third act is finished and you return to the Passage, you will get a pop-up saying the game still has more secrets and that you should explore to find the truth. Your first objective is to find the signal origin in Shattered Descent, so go to Primary and use the World Dial to fast travel to the start of the third biome.

Head left into the building where you had a different objective earlier in the game, and as you approach the door, Kayla will open it from the other side. During your conversation with her, she will mention hearing someone on the radio say she wants to meet Arjun by the red tree, which is your next objective.

Return to the Passage from the menu option or take the portal back. Head to Primary and this time travel to the fourth biome, Blighted Marsh. Run through the biome until you spot the Nightmare Strand gate. You should find the red tree soon after, where a cutscene will initiate, followed by a conversation with Kiira. She will tell you to visit the Cathedral, where you must go to Nitya’s Lab.

Visiting Nitya’s Lab was an optional quest you received while exploring the Cathedral for the first time, right before the boss fight with the Priestess, so now you have to go back there. In Cathedral, after checking both side paths and making the bell fall, a small hole will open in the middle, allowing you to jump down and check out the hologram.

Once you have done this, return to the Passage and talk to Kayla again. Your objective after the conversation with Kayla will be to visit the Banyan Tree. The Banyan Tree acts similarly to the House segments from Returnal.

Banyan Tree segments appear during the main story, but there are only two available before the epilogue that you can complete. If you have already done them, you can enter the tree and complete the third one. If you have not completed any of them, you will need to do them one by one now.

After facing the truth in the Banyan Tree, head back to the Yellow Shore and make your way to the King. Defeat the Overlord, and after the boss fight, do not interact with the boss. Instead, head up the pathway behind it. This initiates the final cutscene, and you can sit back and enjoy the alternate ending as you earn the "Let Go" Gold trophy.
