Once players start playing through a few cycles of Saros, they will make progress in the story by defeating enemies, collecting audio and text logs, and fighting bosses. During these cycles, players will gather a lot of resources, which are necessary for upgrades and making subsequent runs easier.

Halcyon is one of the rarer resources compared to Lucenite that players will come across throughout the different biomes in Saros. Here’s what you can do with it and how you can get more of it.

What To Do With Halcyon in Saros?

Halcyon has only one use in the game: in the Armor Matrix to improve a variety of attributes. The Matrix, which acts as a skill tree, has nodes that you can unlock, and the purple ones can only be unlocked using Halcyon. You can use Halcyon to unlock nodes that improve Aether to make it more effective, reduce the amount of Lucenite lost on death, and even gain a Second Chance, which grants an extra life after dying.

As you unlock more of the tree while progressing through the game, it is best to grab all the purple upgrades you can, only saving Halcyon if you feel a particular upgrade is not worth it.

How to Get More Halcyon in Saros?

There is quite a strong need for Halcyon, and thankfully, the game doesn’t shy away from giving you this resource through exploration and repeated runs of any biome. The locations for most Halcyon are random, and they can even drop from Alpha enemies, but the most common place to find them is inside red containers.

These containers offer a choice between two items, and since the other item will only affect your current run, if you have the option for Halcyon, always go for it.

There is a set number of Halcyon you can get in a biome, and this is shown when you select the World Dial on Primary. This lets you track the Halcyon in a biome before moving on to the next and farming more there. There are quite a few biomes in Saros, with the latter ones having 30 to 50 Halcyon in a single biome.

One of the earliest ways you can get a Halcyon is by defeating Consort, who is the tutorial boss of the game. The fight is not replayable, so if you died on your first encounter, then you cannot go back to get the resource.
