The adventure begins

The quest will start at The Incognito's Cockpit, with a navigation terminal at the front. Exit the room to find Niles Abara waiting in the main area of the ship. Niles Abara wants to talk to you about the new model of the TTDD, or Tactical Time Dilation Device, and the reduced brain damage effects. During this conversation, you can ask him about the new device and give him pointers on how to become a better Earth Directorate agent- your reply will be remembered by Niles. To progress the quest, exhaust all dialogue options until you see the option to leave the conversation. Go towards the marker where you need to contact Agent De Vries, but first, you need to find your Credentials.

Before you head up, explore the break room/pantry to get some items from the table. You can get Earl's Grey Tea and Purpleberry Crunch. Head outside and climb the ladder next to VALERIE, and if you have either Brawny or Engineering 1, you can unjam the door to the Commander's cabin on the left. Otherwise, proceed to the room on the right.

Drop down the hatch on the left side, crouch, and walk towards the other end of this crawl space. You can find Bulk Smokes and a Cigarette Lighter on the floor. Then, stand up to jump and enter the room with the jammed door. Inside the commander's room, you can interact with the terminal to learn about the following topics: [Cargo Mishandling Incident Procedure (CMIP)] and [Use of Force Guidelines (UFG)].

The credentials are on the table, next to an Agent Helmet, which gives +5% Base Health when equipped. Return to the console to begin contact with Augustine De Vries and hear her report about Arcadia and the plan to infiltrate the skip labs. When Helen Pascal butts in with a joke, Augustine will lose her temper and raise her voice at her. The next options are to de-escalate the situation, acknowledge Augustine's temper, or dismiss the situation through one of the following dialogue choices. The first option, "[Leadership or Speech 1] You do remember who's the commanding officer on this mission, right?" will put an end to this situation, and before Augustine ends the call, Niles Abara will speak out and call her attention. The two appear to have known each other for a long time. After the contact, go back to the Cockpit and interact with the navigator. Travel to Horizon Point Station to progress the quest.

Infiltrating Horizon Point Station

Upon arriving, you will see the objective on the second floor of the building in front of the ship. Walk towards the building together with Helen and Niles. Take the stairs to the upper level and interact with the trooper's body to get the Mechanist Badge and Power Fuse, then pick up the items on the ground and shelf to get Exultation Lung Sanitizer, Compact Rounds, and Rabid Sprat. Interact with the console to restore power to the landing pad, then head downstairs to speak with Helen, VALERIE, and Niles again.

The next part of the quest requires you to get past the mechs either by convincing whoever answers the intercom or by lockpicking the vent. Niles will give you a Mag-Pick, while Helen will tell you that the badge is a good idea to have a cover story. You can also just take the fight head-on with guns blazing, but this playthrough will opt to do the Lockpick option since that's the skill that our character has. We also recommend using the intercom to prompt a conversation with Cadet 4th Class Corbin. You will need Speech 1 to convince him to help you out. This will have an impact on your conversation with him, once you meet him at his station.

Sneak Past the Mechanicals

If you failed to convince Corbin, the safest way to go about the quest is to sneak past the mechanicals. Go to the vent in the next room and open it to access the crawl space (you'll need Lockpick 1 and a Mag-Pick to do this). Follow this to the end, heading towards the quest marker. Once you reach the outdoors again, you will get near the mechs roaming this section. Wait for the nearest mech to turn around, then cross to the boxes ahead. Get on top of these boxes and crouch to sneak past the mechs, while making sure that they're looking away.

Pick up items at the corner to get Moderation Mini Rolls, Prestige Soda, and Cloth. Continue to the corner on the left and scan the area for patrolling mechs. Stay crouched so that it's harder for the mechs to spot you, then enter the building on the left. At this point, Augustine will radio in to give an update about the situation. Open the gate at the end and wait for the cutscene to play. The next choice that you will be faced with is deciding which path you want to take between Security Ops and Central Dispatch. The Security Ops path highlights the sneaky gameplay using Lockpick, Hack, and stealthy attacks, while the Central Dispatch highlights the combative approach of fighting enemies head-on.

Disable Defenses At Security Ops

This playthrough will feature choosing the Security Ops while the two agents will go to Central Dispatch. Proceed to the path on the left, and De Vries will contact you again about a drop that they left in the watchpost for the maintenance tunnel into the building. Head down the ramp and take note of the purple light on the left corner- this is the door that you will unlock later. For now, head to the path on the right, towards the marker to locate the key.

While on the way, you will notice a Construction Mechanical is malfunctioning in the left corner. This mech is unable to do anything, but you can at least get some items nearby, such as Flywheel and Shiny Servo on the small crate. Continue towards the marker, and pick up the item on the table to examine the Maintenance Access Map. You will also get Horizon Point: Security Map and Horizon Point: Security Ops Maintenance Key. Before you exit the room, open the lockers to get Compact Rounds and Embiggen Antiseptic.

Return to the vent near the purple light and open it to access the crawl space. Jump down to the room below and open the next vent. Soon after, you will hear from Sandoval and Jepsen about "clearing" their path. Continue to the room ahead, and go towards the next vent at the top of the stairs. Exit to the area on the left to reach the main area with mech patrols. To get past them, you will need to stay crouched, avoiding their line of path, and remain stealthy throughout the area.

Let the Protectorate Wasp pass towards the left side, then proceed to the stairs on the right. Open the vent and quickly go in and go up the ramp to open another vent. Once you reach the hallway, Augustine will contact you again about a stashed knife. Proceed to the room and pick up items from the table and lockers to get the Bypass Shunt and Pitchball Card: Nathan Lawter. Then, open the vent with blood trails and take the Sentry Blade. Equip the blade and exit the room.

Turn right and go to the end of the hallway. Look out for the soldier on the left side of the stairs who's currently doing some work on the pipes. Since he's facing the wall, you can sneak behind him and do a Stealth attack. Take the Mag-Pick from his body, and examine the device on the nearby cart to learn about the Security Instruction Manual - Part 1. If you have Lockpicking 1, you can return to the previous room to open the locker there and get Compact Rounds and Exultation Lung Sanitizer.

Return to the stairs and head up to the big room. Go up another stairs and listen to the conversation happening next room. Wait for the 2 soldiers to break apart and isolate one target. The nearest one is busy reading something, so stay crouched so it's harder for them to detect you. Do a sneak attack, then start crawling to the other soldier to eliminate him too. Inside this room, you can pick up items from the desk, crates to get Tribute Digna-Tea and Mag-Pick. Use the computer to access information about Messages and Pumping Station Access Keycard. If you have Hack 1, you can decrypt the code and eject the keycard currently inserted, which gives you the Pumping Station Keycard.

Proceed to the hallway, and then go inside the bathroom on the left. Eliminate the soldier cleaning the wall and take the Prestige Mentholated Cigarettes from its body. Look through the cabinets on the wall to examine the gadget to read about Security Instruction Manual - Part 2, and take the item to get Embiggen Antiseptic.

Continue to the next hallway, and open the door to the left. Inside, you can find a computer with information on Messages and Incident Reports. There are items you can loot nearby to get Bypass ShuntShock Rod, and Flywheel. After that, you can open the safe with the red ring light on the ground (Requires Lockpicking 1 and Mag-Pick). You can get the Bit Cartridge and Foil from this. Next to the safe, you can examine the Automechanical Repair Station and rewire or tamper with it if you have Engineering 1 or Innovative.

Exit the room and go to the next room across from this one. Open the door to hear from Augustine again about additional instructions on how to breach the control room. Go towards the marker to pick up the Distraction Devices and continue to the marked location, again. Crouch as you open the door, then throw the device in the corner of the room to distract them. If you get detected, this will blow up into a fight against 2 soldiers and 1 Security Turret. After securing the room, go towards the control panel and disable the deployment. Another option is to use the Automechanical Targeting Module to rewire the mechs if you have it.

Go towards the elevator on the opposite side of the room and use it to go to the Ground Level. Go towards the large door and interact with the AutoDoc to replenish your health charges.

Clear Enemies at Central Dispatch

After splitting from your crewmates, head to Central Dispatch on the right. As soon as you turn at the end of the path, you will come across several Protectorate troops. Defeat the enemies on the platform, then loot the bodies of the fallen enemies to replenish your ammo. You can also find some Compact Rounds on the shelf next to the door.

Open the door and enter the building to listen to updates from Eric Sandoval and Helen Pascal. On this level, you will encounter some drones and the Protectorate enemies. Defeat them and head up the stairs in the corner. Defeat the enemies in the hallway, then turn right to enter a small room. Here you can get a Mag-Pick and some ammo. Continue to the hallway and proceed to the next room.

You will learn from Augustine that there's a Transformer Manual, which you can find in the locker to the right of the entrance. In the nearby locker, you can also loot a Stun Baton and a Pitchball Card: Nathan Lawter. Go towards the lever in the room and use the manual to override it. You will gain +10 XP after completing this. Proceed to the door on the other side of the room to progress.

Inside this room, you will find more Protectorate enemies. You can also find a small room to the right of the entrance, with access to a Vending Machine and bathroom stalls. Continue to the other end of the room, where you can find 2 doors. The one on the left will progress the quest, while the one on the right contains items that can be opened with Explosives 1, or a Lockpick 1 and a Mag-Pick. This room contains the following items: Compact RoundsExplosive GrenadeShort RoundsRegal TartsSecurity Nitrogen-Flushed Meal Pack, and Bypass Shunt.

Open the door to the next room to reach the control room. As soon as you enter, enemies will be alerted to your presence, and your goal here is to defeat all enemies on the ground level. After that, go to the stairs on the right side of the room to reach the upper level. Here you can see the quest marker at the end of the hallway, but before going there, go inside the small room to the left. You can get a Mag-Pick from the table and access the computer that will allow you to take the confiscated 500 Bit Cartridge. You will need Hack 1 and a Bypass Shunt to do this.

Head towards the marker and interact with the prompt to remove the Backup Power Core. After doing so, you can also insert Earth Directorate Media, which will play an advertisement through the speakers. Proceed to the end of the hallway, and use the elevator to reach the lower level. Step out of the elevator and go to the front desk to pick up a Mag-Pick. Open the nearest door and go inside the room to pick up the item called Cadet 4th Class Corbin's Journal, which you can use as leverage when talking to Cadet Corbin at his station later. In the same room, you can also get 300 Bit Cartridge from the shelf at the back. Exit the small room and proceed to the outdoors to regroup with your crewmates.

Regroup with Crewmates

Open the door and head towards the next door to enter the building. As you open it, Helen will radio in, but she will stop her message. Keep going towards the marker, then shortly after, something will explode near your crewmates. Go towards the explosion to check on them. Speak to VALERIE to learn about the situation. When asked about Niles, your response will be remembered. If you choose the dialogue that says, "Abara needs more help than you can provide here. Take him back to the ship. Now!" VALERIE will refuse to follow you and tell you that he needs to be stabilized first before he can be moved. VAL will advise you to continue with the mission and head to the skip labs. You will receive Abara's Repeating Rifle from VAL. Then, look around the room to pick up the Security Nitrogen-Flushed Meal Pack and Compact Rounds from the table. Get out of the burning room and head towards the quest marker on the left. Watch out for the soldiers coming out who were alerted by the explosion. Stay crouched and hide between the pipes. If you get detected, you'll have to fight the nearby soldiers.

Cadet Corbin: How to Start Missable Task in Horizon Point Station

Head inside the Skip Drive Diagnostic Laboratories and open the door at the end of the path. You're getting closer to entering the Skip Labs, and before you is a choice that you have to make. You can either strike a deal with the cadet, enter his station to kill him and lower the bridge, or enter through the Pumping Station. During our playthrough, we opted to speak to him on the intercom and pretended to be one of his colleagues.

As you approach this building, Cadet 4th Class Corbin will call your attention. This conversation can have 2 different outcomes: You can convince Corbin to lower the bridge and let you cross, or it will end up in a fight against different enemies if Corbin calls on them. We recommend you convince Corbin to help you so you can unlock the secret task. You will need Speech Level 1 and Hack 1 to accomplish this. After this, offer your help once again to seal the deal, and Corbin will lower the bridge for you. This will also prompt the secret task, The Cadet's Degrading Dilemma. This allows you to cross the Skip Labs without alerting the rest of the troops. Go inside the building, where you can see Augustine De Vries on the opposite side of the glass, cutting down the exploration time. This is the fastest way to progress the quest, and if you chose this option, click here to see the continuation

Open Corbin's Station and Steal the Pumping Station Keycard

If you prefer to attack Corbin, or you simply do not have the means to convince him to help you. Your next option is to pick the lock in his station and steal the Pumping Station Keycard. For now, go to the opposite side and look for a crate in the right corner to get Explosive GrenadeCompact Rounds, and Short Rounds. Then, go to this small section across Corbin's building to pick up Mag-Pick.

Go to the back of Corbin's building and pick up the items on top of the crate to get more items like Explosive GrenadeCompact Rounds, and Short Rounds, and examine the note Notice: Day of Remembrance. Open the door to Corbin's building and throw a grenade inside to take out Corbin. Loot his body to get Pumping Station Keycard, Compact Rounds, and Embiggen Antiseptic. Interact with the lever on the left to lower the bridge in the middle of the path.

Access to Pumping Station

Go to the Pumping Station nearby and use the Keycard to open the door. Walk towards the janitor mech on the ground level and pick up the nearby items to get Energy Canister and Scrap Metal. Go up the stairs and crouch as you approach the hallway. Go inside the vent on the left side, and go to the end of the crawl space to activate the turret. Open the vent nearby and carefully watch the charge crawling on the ground.

When the charge resets, quickly go inside, then turn right to pause there. Wait for the next round of the charge to pass, then quickly go into the left side of the vent. There are 2 vent exits here. The one on the right is connected to the hallway with the Turret, but the one you need to go to is the one in the middle. Follow this path until you exit to a wider room. Jump across the gap to enter the next crawl space, then look for the lever to activate the next turret. However, it seems that they have control of this turret, and they will disable it immediately. Instead, you have to take them out by throwing a grenade or firing with guns. Take the items from the crate to get Explosive Grenade and Compact Rounds. Loot their bodies to get Short Rounds

Go to the quest marker and continue to the hallway. Look out for a small room on the left where you can use the computer to read messages about the Pumping Station Personnel. There's also another option available to players with the Hack skill, which also requires a Bypass Shunt. If you have a spare Mag-Pick, you can open the safe on the corner. Continue to the vent on the left side and jump down to the next area at the end of the crawl space. Exit to the left side, where you can see 2 soldiers. Take out the enemies by stealthily approaching them. You can take out one enemy before the next guy will be alerted, so you can switch to a gun right after. Loot their bodies to get Compact Rounds. Opposite this side, you can hear Augustine call you out. She will call out your reckless behavior and tell you to take the lift behind.

In the upper level, you can get Tribute Digna-Tea, and a Cigarette Lighter from the desk. Use the computer to get information about messages between Cadet Aldermann and Mechanist Vaughn about Automechanical Tasking and Retrieval, and Restoration. Go to the next room to find two doors. The nearest one on the left requires Lockpicking 1 and Mag-Pick, and the next one is the toilet. Loot items at the bottom of the shelf inside the toilet to get Cloth and Mercy Oxymorphone. For players with Professor background, they can read the note on the board. After this, proceed to the quest marker to receive intel from Augustine. Deal with the newcomers either by sneaking around or engaging in a gun fight. Defeat all enemies and loot their bodies to pick up Compact Rounds and Bit Cartridge. You can also find Cigarette Lighter on the desk, and Earl's Grey Tea from the table.

There's also a Fuel Control Panel here that is useful for players with Science 1, Explosive 1, and Lucky trait. Proceed to the quest marker and continue to the stairs, and use the AutoDoc on the ground level. You can also pick up items near the bottom of the stairs to get Explosive Grenade and Compact Rounds. You can also interact with the vending machine to buy Consumables like Food and Drinks, and some ammo. Here you can also sell some items you've found so far.

Continue to the door to enter the next room. From this level, you will get a bird's-eye view of the enemies below. Watch out for the rectifier because this enemy can move quickly. There's also an enemy that will throw an explosive at you if you keep your distance from them. Loot their bodies to get Compact Rounds and Bit Cartridge. Loot the items on the shelves on the left side to get Embiggen AntisepticTribute Digna-Tea, and Mercy Oxymorphone. Open the locker near the exit to get the Bracelet and Exultation Lung Sanitizer. You can also examine the document on the bench to read about Aldermann's Observation Notes Part 2.

Go inside the next room and defeat the enemies patrolling. You can take a sneak approach or commit to an all out combat. After the fight, go inside the control room on the left. Examine the item on the chair to read about the  Machine Lab Safety Log. Then, interact with the lever to open the door. Continue to the quest marker and open the door, where you will encounter Augustine de Vries. She reveals her true identity as a traitor, and no matter the dialogue choices you make, she will act on the plan, ending the conversation. Shortly after, a cutscene will start playing, showing the station exploding, while a tiny pod escapes, free floating into the universe. This pod will later be rescued by a ship cruising nearby, prompting the next scene.

After the Failed Mission

You will regain consciousness while inside the pod and listen to a conversation between Niles and VALERIE. However, Niles will step out of the room, and you will talk to VALERIE alone once you've regained your consciousness. There will be a series of dialogue choices as she informs you about the backpay and the unapproved 3,468-day sabbatical as a result of floating for over 10 years. As the conversation goes on, VAL will tell you about how Niles spent years teaching himself skills. After the conversation ends, the next quest, Recalling the Score will start immediately.

After being recovered by VALERIE and Niles, you will regain control of your character on the ship. There are several changes on the ship since you were floating around for 10 years. The door to your cabin will now be fixed, and you no longer need to go around the crawl space for access. From the main room, you can also open the previously locked door on the left side (when facing the console). This door will lead you through a pod room, and at the end, you can see an intricate system room.

Go around the back of this room and pick up the item to get Commander's Safe Key. This time, go inside the Commander's cabin located on the second floor. Look for the safe and open it using the key you found earlier. Opening the vault rewards +300 XP, and you can collect the following items: Tossball Card: Eva Wierzbicki, x318 Bit Cartridge, x2 Bypass Shunt, x2 Mag-Pick, x2 Numb Rum, x1 Ascendant Bourbon, and x1 Spectrum Vodka. Below the vault, you can also find a Crumpled List note item. Then, you can also interact with the computer to read communications to and from the Directorate during your absence.

When you're ready, proceed to the cockpit to speak with Niles and progress the quest. Niles will mistake you for VALERIE and will talk casually while facing the rift. This conversation will consist of bringing up the past, especially what happened at the Horizon Point Station. After this, he will further share info about the best plan, and the quest objective will be updated to Land on Paradise Island.

After talking to Niles, interact with the Navigation Terminal on the right side of the cockpit to prompt the travel to Eden, Paradise Island. Before you disembark, go to the area below the cockpit where you can find VALERIE. You will receive a report about the lockboxes that are tucked in the ship's dispenser, or the High Security Lockboxes. You will receive an Advanced Decryption Key, which you can use to get an Auntie's Acidic Dematerializer. After opening it, the next lockbox will appear, which contains an upgrade kit for the VALERIE. When you're done, proceed to the quest marker and interact with it to prompt the disembarkation and Companion selection screen.

Once you arrive at Paradise Island, the quest will be marked as completed, and the next quest, The Saboteur of Paradise will start immediately.

Arriving at Paradise Island - Landing Pad

The quest will start upon landing in Paradise Island with Niles and VALERIE. Your first objective here is to find information on de Vries, together with seeking help to infiltrate the station. Go inside the nearest house and use the elevator in the middle of the room to go to the top of the tower. You can find a radio here, or pick up items in the area to get Crude BiomassLucky Sprat FootBit Cartridge, and Boarstloaf.  You can also interact with the computer to find messages addressed to Subjects of the Protectorate, with details about Invasion, Betrayal, and Decommissioning of the Landing Pad. You can explore the outdoor area in the Landing Pad to search the perimeter for some items.

About southwest of the Landing Pad, you can also explore Crabble Spawning Grounds, which is a cave with various crabbles and some Items that can be looted. At the back, you can find a Rift Anomaly along the narrow path. Look at the wall to the left of this anomaly, and watch out for a wall covered with crabble eggs. Break this wall of crabble eggs to reveal a corpse holding a Pitchball Card: Sam Gould, which increases Critical Chance by 1%.

Back to the Rift Anomaly, jump down to the small building behind it to find a terminal within Crabble Population Research Station, containing information about an active, rampaging Automech. This terminal also contains a combination code for the Locked Safe in the same room to get the Recipe for Plasma Grenade

Head Towards Fairfield

After exploring the areas near the Landing Pad, continue towards the quest marker in the distance, into Fairfield. Stay on the road until you spot a uniformed corpse next to a van. Interact with it to find Trooper Chascarillo's corpse holding a Commemorative Tossball. Continue forward and follow this path until you see the toppled van next to trees with pink leaves. Walk in front of this and watch out for 2 drones that will attack from the toppled van. Defeat them and loot the items to get Short Rounds and Shells. You can also loot some junk items from the drones, like a Pneumatic Piston and Coolant Tank. Then, continue to the town, where you can speak with Corporate Trooper Coetze.

If you prefer to enter Fairfield peacefully, we recommend choosing the friendly options while talking to Coetze. To unlock a task, you can also ask her about the mechs, and this will prompt her to share about having a friend on the convoy and a keepsake. If you picked it up earlier, give the tossball to Coetze to earn +1 Reputation with Auntie's Choice. After this, she'll ask you to take care of the trooper mechs, and that there's a bounty for doing so, which unlocks the task called Diabolical Drones of Doom. When given this information, you can ask her about the Bounty terminal to find out that it's next to the jail, across the bar. You can also choose to ask her about Auntie's Choice merger and the person in charge of Fairfield.

Exploring Fairfield and Meeting NPCs

Your main objective while in Fairfield is to look for individuals who might be able to offer help in locating de Vries. Although optional, we recommend looking around town to speak with NPCs, unlock Side Quests, and get additional Equipment. Some of these NPCs will also give you information about the current situation in Fairfield and how to get inside the Vox Relay Station.

Go inside the clinic on the right side of the town. Here, you can find a receptionist and injured victims lining up for medical service. One of them is Trooper Erickson whom you can strike up a conversation. You can ask VAL if they can help out Erickson, but VALERIE will respond that they are not permitted to operate within corporate-owned medical facilities. He will then share the info that he was on sentry duty when he got shot by a Protectorate Drone. After this, you can ask him about how they survived, or tell him about how drones aren't known for their "manners".

Choose the option that asks him about how he survived to prompt him to talk about Trooper Faulkner and the Forward Operating Base. When you ask him about what the base is, he tells you that it is the most lucrative post a soldier could be assigned to because of the hazard pay. Head further inside the clinic where Doctor Barnes is examining an injured trooper, whose leg needs to be amputated due to a risk of infection. You can then ask to see his supplies, which are mostly Consumables like Trauma Kit. Food, Drinks, and an upgrade for the Medical Inhaler. The Extra Primer Port can be bought for 750, or 638 if you have a Consumerism Flaw. You can also find items on the table, but they will have a "steal" label on them. There's also a Clinic Chemset that can be used to formulate a Coagulant, by characters with Medical 3.

Go to the back of the clinic and explore the perimeter of the building next to it. On the other side, you will find the Fairfield Drone Terminal. Here you can hack this to change target priorities [Requires Hack 2 and 1 Bypass Shunt]. You can assign a new target priority by setting Auntie's Choice to Friendly and Protectorate to Hostile.

Go to the front of the building, where you can find Corporate Trooper and Huell Chaudry at the patio. You can talk to Huell to start a Task called Perilous Journey to the Grove. For more information on how to start this, please see this page. Behind Huell, you can also interact with the Bounty Terminal and check the bounty that Coetze mentioned earlier. You can look up local bounties, including your own.

When you go inside the jailhouse, you can find a computer that you can interact with. On this computer, you can find a message with the subject A Profitable Resolution. Upon reading this message, you will start the quest, Schemes of the Secret Smugglers. You can read a full walkthrough by going to this page here. At the back of the desk, you can also talk to Trooper Murphy and Trooper Kemp, who are deciding on how to break open the armory.

Next to the armory, you can speak to Warden Sterling, who can be prompted to talk to you about the contents of the armory. You can even convince him that you should get the contents instead of going to the members of Auntie's Choice. After that, go to the bar across the jail. Here you can talk to Sanitizer Magnus, who's cleaning the toilet, and speak with the barkeeper, Intoxicant Facilitator Cole to check their items for sale, but they're mostly Consumable drinks. There are also items throughout the building, but these items will have the [steal] label, making them a crime in Fairfield. In the wall next to the bar fridge, look for an item above the barrel and pick it up to get Pitchball Card: Alex Wilson.

You can also get some information about the Forward Operating Base from Cole, similar to what Trooper Erickson at the Clinic told you about. At first, she'll talk to you about her business plan. Choose the following dialogues to get helpful information from Cole. Towards the end of the conversation, she would have told you about the bridge, Milverstreet, and Acquisitions Officer Kaur. After this, she'll ask you if you have anything for her. It's up to you if you want to share something, but you can also shut down her interest by choosing "Don't have much!". She'll be a bit disappointed, but it wouldn't put you in danger.

You can find a Workbench and a Vending Machine on the side of the More Perfect Goods building, indicated on the map. This is a useful station that will allow you to craft, add mods, and upgrade your equipment. If you go inside the building, you can talk to Arthur Cromby, who's running the shop. He sells equipment like ModsWeapons, Items, and other Clothing. If you go to the back of the store, you can steal a Mag-PickExtra Holster, and Crude Biomass.

Town Hall in Fairfield: Meet Kaur and Milverstreet

Go to the Fairfield Town Hall and speak with Minister Milverstreet to ask him about Augustine De Vries so you can access the Town Hall's records. NOTE: During this conversation, you can tell him about your plan to enter Vox Relay, but once you agree to deal with him, you will get locked out of Acquisitions Officer Kaur's questline. Choosing to deal with Milverstreet can help you learn about Inez Silang, the Mental Refreshment project of Auntie's Choice, and get help from him to get inside Vox Relay. Once you choose "I prefer diplomacy and subterfuge to frontal assaults. I'd rather work with you", this no longer lets you work with Officer Kaur.

Once you're given the go-ahead to access the records, head back down to the main hall and go towards the quest marker. You can find Acquisitions Officer Kaur standing at the door, near the entrance, and you can enter the room behind her to examine the Town Hall's Records, which contain the information about De Vries and her assigned house.

On the other hand, you can chat with Acquisitions Officer Kaur to get an idea about her plans. She will ask for your help to sabotage the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center to eliminate the chances of the drones being repaired to help the Protectorate in the war. Once you choose "I prefer to work with you rather than Milverstreet. I prefer the direct approach", you will no longer be able to work with Minister Milverstreet. After leaving the Town Hall and you accepted help from either Milverstreet or Officer Kaur, VALERIE will prompt a task called Tiny Metal Death Pellets.

Doing Side Quests in Fairfield

Exit through the back of the house and go to the house on the right to enter Emeline Galloway's house. Here you can find her Personal Terminal, which is important for the related quest, Schemes of the Secret Smugglers. While progressing this quest, you can also stop by the building northwest of the greenhouse in Fairfield. You will encounter Loss Prevention Officer Warren L. Warren outside the building — speak with him to gather information about a case involving a suspected burglar. This conversation will prompt the quest, The Mystifying Case of the Midnight Marauder.

At the northwestern section of Fairfield, you can find Ethel Tinsley inside a large warehouse where she works as a Chimeric Scientist. You can access her personal terminal to read about her messages to Milverstreet, one of the relevant NPCs who could give information about how to access the unguarded drainage pipe that leads to the heavily-guarded Vox Relay Station

Aside from the quests within the town, you can also find Director of Resource Exploitation Betsy Szmuch, who can give you the quest The Routine of Reconnaissance of Rarefied Resources. She is located deep within the forest, and may be a little bit hard to find without images. You can find a complete walkthrough by going to this page

Finding Augustine De Vries' House

De Vries' House is located at the edge of Fairfield, where you see a purple plant next to the door. Inside the house, you can access the computer and read messages about her plans and directives. You can steal the Cigarette Lighter below the sink. Then, use the button next to the toilet to reveal the secret room. You can get some items here, like Compass and Bracelet. You can also see the submerged tracker inside the tank. The computer can also be accessed for info on Mission Logs and messages from other respondents.

After discovering the truth behind Augustine De Vries' actions and going through her hidden computer, you will unlock a Task called Stalking an Associate of Angry Ascendance, where you will track down Savannah Lockwood to get some information about de Vries' past. Back in De Vries' house, Niles will start a conversation, angered by the truth about Augustine's actions. He will remind you to continue asking around if anyone might know something related to de Vries. After exploring Fairfield, your next stop is to head towards Sovereign's Sweet Spire Grove, due southwest of Fairfield.

Minister Milverstreet Questline

After accepting Milverstreet's deal, go to the main station of Ministry of Accuracy to progress A Refreshing Bit of News. During this quest, you will meet Inez Silang, one of the possible Companions in The Outer Worlds 2. Inside this building, you can also use the terminal on the second level of the main building to print the Euphoria ARC Pass. The ARC Pass is used to safely enter the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center if you cannot persuade the guards to let you in, especially if you do not have an Engineering skill level of 3.

After going to the Ministry of Accuracy, return to the Town Hall to deliver your quest. You will find Inez in a heated argument with the Minister about her work in Auntie's Choice, which will eventually make her quit her job. Continue talking to Milverstreet to complete the current quest and unlock the next quest, which is The Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice. During this quest, you need to convince the people of Westport to defect to Auntie's Choice. You can find a full walkthrough of the quest by going hereNOTE: This quest will take you to meet with Vigilant Hogarth, who will give you the quest The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals- it is highly recommended to be completed first, as progressing through The Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice will make you unable to complete it.

Inez Silang Companion Quest: Better than Nature

NOTE: It is not necessary to accept A Refreshing Bit of News to find Inez Silang at the Ministry of Accuracy. As long as you go to the Ministry and talk to her there, then return to the town hall in Fairfield, she will eventually quit her job. Since Inez Silang quit Auntie's Choice, you will also be able to recruit her as your companion, which also prompts the quest Better than Nature. This quest will give you two options on how you want to complete it. You can acquire both specimens, but once you make a decision, the choice is final, and it will complete Inez's graft. You can either go to the Mysterious Cave in the southern area of Paradise Island to get the Skeleton Crabble Grafting Specimen, or travel to the Raptidon Den in the northern area of Paradise Island to get the Raptidon Matriarch Grafting Specimen.

Acquisitions Officer Kaur Questline

Choosing to work with Acquisitions Officer Kaur will prompt a different series of quests, where your goal is to decommission the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center facility. This will unlock the quests Above and Beyond Repair, followed by Ascent in the Howling Tower. The second quest will require the player to get inside Skycutter A102, where they must recover the Schematics to send a power surge that will weaken the defenses of Vox Relay. The downside to helping Officer Kaur is that you will not unlock the quest that will allow you to convince the people of Westport to move to Auntie's Choice, but you will reap the rewards of her quests, which give you her armor and weapon (Kaur's KuirassDesignator Triple Barrel Shotgun, and Kaur's Korroder).  Additionally, you will not be able to complete the Vanquishing of the Vexing Vapors should you agree to deal with Officer Kaur to sabotage the facility. NOTE: You can still complete other quests, such as An Aegis Against the Miasma and The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals, while Above and Beyond Repair is an active quest.

Western Paradise Island: Sovereign's Sweet Spire Grove, Redactor Quesnel, and Ministry of Accuracy

After picking up the quest, Perilous Journey to the Grove in Fairfield, follow the task marker and head southwest of Fairfield to find a broken funicular, which can be repaired if you have 3 Engineering. Once the funicular is repaired, use it to go up to find the Sovereign's Sweet Spire Grove. Go to the task marker, and you will witness an event wherein Jackson Plum jumps from a balcony — head to Jackson Plum's corpse to examine it. The quests in the nearby area can be completed simultaneously, and you can find a full walkthrough by going to the quests' dedicated pages: Perilous Journey to the Grove and A Final Death for Gravity

After completing the quests above, you can visit Redactor Quesnel's cabin to the west of Fairfield in Paradise Island. Make your way to the cabin and interact with her to start learning about the Quest. For the complete guide on where to find all 10 copies of Science Adventures Quarterly, please head over to the quest page, In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda.

Ministry of Accuracy and West Substation

When you're done, open the map and switch to Region to see a zoomed-out map by using the RT button on the gamepad. You will see an icon where you can hover your indicator to see Diabolical Drones of Doom over on the left-hand side of the map. You can set the Task as your active one to track it. From there, follow the main path to the southwest. Following the lamp posts and orienting yourself to follow the marker that appears on your screen. Go down the winding path towards the West Substation of the Ministry of Accuracy. You can head to the quest page Diabolical Drones of Doom for the full walkthrough.

After completing this mission, the next stop should be the main station of the Ministry of Accuracy, where you will meet Inez Silang, one of the possible Companions in The Outer Worlds 2. Inside this building, you can also use the terminal on the second level of the main building to print the Euphoria ARC Pass. The ARC Pass is used to safely enter the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center if you cannot persuade the guards with Engineering skill level of 3. After clearing these missions, return to Fairfield to turn over the tasks Diabolical Drones of DoomA Refreshing Bit of News, and Perilous Journey to the Grove.

Eastern Paradise Island: Excogitation Chapel, Westport, Eden's Agricultural Center

Proceed to the eastern area outside of Fairfield to track down one of Augustine's associates, whose information you were able to find inside her hidden computer. Follow the quest marker to track down Savannah Lockwood in Excogitation Chapel to have a conversation with her. For a complete walkthrough, head over to Stalking an Associate of Angry Ascendance. After your encounter with Savannah, set the marker to Pressing Cares in Westport.

Westport: Meet Zebulon Tran and Vigilant Hogarth

Another character worth pursuing if you want to seek help in entering Vox Relay Station is to look for Zebulon Tran in Westport. This location will be revealed to you upon starting Niles' companion quest called Pressing Cares. During our playthrough, this quest started after spending the first day to night in Paradise Island. For quest progression, this happened after we had discovered Augustine de Vries' house and secret computer in Fairfield. Zebulon Tran has crewmates who were captured at the Vox's Landing Pad, and he will ask for your help to rescue them. He will give Niles the authority to use his call sign so his crew will recognize them as allies.

After meeting Zebulon Tran, head up the ramp to go inside Westport. You can freely access the area, but you can also talk to Interim Chief Mechanist Pinckney at the gate. To start exploring here, go to the stairs on the right side of the main building, then look for the door on its right side to enter the main building. As soon as you enter, go inside the small room on the right of the hallway and pick up the item on the desk to get the Keycard - Westport Broadcast Facility. You can also find a workbench and other items in this room.

Walk towards the main hall and go up the stairs in the middle of the building. Go to the balcony to meet Vigilant Hogarth, who can help you get inside Vox Relay, prompting the side quest, The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals. By completing this side quest, Vigilant Hogarth can help you get inside Vox Relay undetected by giving you a Writ of Conscription.

You can also find Hogarth's Cabin on the second floor, to the right of the stairs. At first, this door is locked, but you can either pickpocket Hogarth to get the Key to Vigilant's Personal Quarters or use a Mag-Pick with Lockpick 5. This room will also be unlocked after you complete The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals. You can access his personal terminal and get various items from his quarters.

Eden's Agricultural Center

Head towards the building southwest of the outskirts of Westport. As you approach the building, a station will be available, named Auntie's Choice-Brand Distress Signal. Listen to it, and you will hear a man saying to find him in the renovated grain silo and help him formulate a cure. This will prompt the quest, The Lab that Shouted Incoherently and Often. Head towards the building discreetly, and once you reach the perimeter of Eden's Bounty Agricenter, you will find several Homicidally Irritable Employees roaming around. If the enemies appear as "Dangerous Enemies", then it might be too early for your character to complete this quest. We recommend gaining a few levels at the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, then coming back here later.

Southeastern Paradise Island: Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center

One of the ways that you can gain access to the Vox Relay Station is by extending help to The Protectorate in the Automech Repair Center. This is an area located southeast of Fairfield, but access is limited to those who will get approval from Marshal Donelson. At the gate, you can talk to Sub Mechanist Cade Tierney and Sub Mechanist Missy Aubuchon. Alternatively, you can also gain access here by printing the ARC Pass in the Ministry of Accuracy, especially if you don't want to spend Perks on Engineering.

Once inside, look for Marshal Donelson at the center of the facility. Talk to him and offer your help to hear about the quest, An Aegis Against the Miasma. To start this quest, you need to speak to Chief Deviser Delphinia Bryant, who will give you directions and ask for items that she needs to create the gadget. For a complete walkthrough, you can visit this page. After this, you can complete Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors and The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals. The second quest can get you a Writ of Conscription from Vigilant Hogarth, which is a key item that can get you inside Vox Relay without being detected.

NOTE: If you accepted Acquisitions Officer Kaur's deal, you will have a quest here, Above and Beyond Repair, where your objective is to decommission the facility. Note that you can still finish other side quests in the facility, but you will not be able to get the full rewards.

Head towards the Northern Part of Paradise Island through the Desalination Plant

NOTE: We recommend completing An Aegis Against the Miasma before going here to get the equipment (Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus) that protects you from Zyranium toxins. The northern part of Paradise Island can be accessed by following the path to the north of the Ministry of Accuracy. This area is located on the western section of Fairfield, next to the large body of water that resembles Earth's sea. Continue ahead, where you can come across Trooper Ashby sitting on the ground, traumatized by the deaths of his comrades. You can have a conversation with him to encourage him to collect himself first, or maybe agree to give him an Explosive Grenade to protect himself.

With VALERIE as a companion, it will advise you to caution against the high levels of Zyranium. Thick fumes of Zyranium cover this area, and this can be cleared by deactivating the desalinator. To do this, make sure you will need a Bypass Shunt and Engineering 3. The switch is located on the left side of the facility. To get there, go past this bridge while the gadget is activated. Pick up the Bypass Shunt from the corpse on the bridge. Explore the area to the right to find materials like Energy Canister and Coolant Tank scattered between metal objects. Proceed to the switch on the other side while the gadget is activated. You will get +10XP for turning off the desalinator, and this will also clear the area of toxic fumes.

Go behind the switch to take the Gears from the box, then open the locked box with Lockpick 2 and a Mag-Pick to get Spauldered UniformEmergency Deflectors, and Antimorbidic Soda. You can also loot Screws from the lowest level of the metal scaffolding near the switch. When you're done here, cross the island to complete the current quest objective.

Although optional, we recommend going inside the facility to the left, known as Skycutter A102. You will need the Skycutter Entrance Key or Lockpick 3 and a Mag-Pick to get inside. NOTE: You can also complete a quest called Who Else But Us while inside Skycutter A102, and opt to complete the mission of the Cadre that will damage the defenses of Vox Relay Station and obtain the Vestige Datapad - Cadre 618. After exploring Skycutter, you can head towards Vox Relay Station by using the lift outside the building, then following the trail of white wire.

Reaching the Outskirts of Vox Relay Station: Niles' and Inez's Companion Quest

There are multiple ways to get to Vox Relay Station: you can either start from the northern fields of The Bridge of the Reverent, jump across the crashed ship north of Westport, or pass through the Zyranium hazard on the western side through Skycutter A102. The Bridge of the Reverent's path is more straightforward and will largely depend on whether you want to fight the Protectorate or sneak inside their secured facilities, while the crashed ship north of Westport will require the double jump mechanic that you can acquire from A Final Death for Gravity.

After completing the exploration inside Skycutter A102, face the direction towards the quest marker in the distance, and then call for the lift using the mechanism on the left. At the top, you will reach one of the small facility buildings outside of Vox Relay Station. You can bypass the gate controls with Engineering 3. This facility is guarded by a Protectorate Dragoon MK 1, which is a powerful robot that can hop over the fence and shoot powerful weapons. Once inside the facility, look for the electricity-charged entrance on the container. Deactivate the switch next to it to loot the items inside. You can get Peacekeeper ArmorAdvanced Decryption KeyFoil, and Bit Cartridge Special: Treasure Hunter.

After exploring this area, you have the option to head towards the Vox Relay Station or progress Niles' companion quest to rescue Audra and go to Raptidon Den to progress Inez Silang's companion quest. We recommend rescuing Audra first, as this will give you an edge in combat later on, especially when you want to explore with Niles as a companion, since he will earn an upgrade at the end of his quest. To get there, follow the white wire outside of the facility and head towards the quest marker. This will lead to a crawl space between two large rocks that will take you to the outskirts of the station. Once you get there, you can switch the objectives to Pressing Cares to get the quest marker for Audra's location.

The Bridge of the Reverent

Another way to reach the Vox Relay Station is to face The Protectorate's stronghold in The Bridge of the Reverent. This is located in the center of Paradise Island, north of FairfieldNOTE: You can get clearance to cross the bridge if you complete the quest, For Whom the Bridge Tolls. Outside the bridge, you can also find some troops from Auntie's Choice camped at the Forward Operating Base. You can access the terminal inside the van to get information about Torres' personal logs and messages to other troops like Doctor Barnes. While you're here, you can also talk to Commander Torres to start a task called A Sprat to Die For.

NOTE: During our playthrough, we completed Niles' companion quest before we arrived at the bridge, and opted to attack the facility holding one of the captives. This resulted in our character being recognized as a trespasser and made The Protectorate hostile towards us on sight.

When approaching the bridge, remain on the road and stay clear of the fields that are planted with mines. These mines will immediately explode when you come into contact with them and will take a chunk out of your health. At the gate, Senior Warden Weintraut will command you to keep your hands where they can see them, but once she gets a good look at you, she will command the rest of the troops at the bridge to open fire. The Senior Warden has armor and a large health pool that makes her a dangerous enemy to fight head-on. If you happen to find yourself in a fight against the Protectorate at The Bridge of the Reverent, remain outside the bridge for as long as you can. This will minimize the number of enemies that you are fighting because some of them will run out to attack you.

During this battle, you can use your Companion Perks to gain the upper hand, despite being outnumbered. Once the gate is cleared of nearby enemies, approach the gate where the senior warden was standing. Loot the senior warden's corpse to get the Bridge Armory Keycard. Defeat the rest of the troops on the ground, then make your way to the ramparts by climbing the stairs on the right side, or jump over the containers. Go inside the main building, then turn right to find the locked door. Use the Bridge Armory Keycard to save on Mag-Pick and gain +600 XP. Inside this room, you can steal the following items: Bomb SuitConcussive MineShock Machine GunShock RodWelded Helmet, x2 Magnet, x2 ScrewsShock Rod, and Compact Rounds. You can also get the Pitchball Card: Kelvin Nakamura from the weapon carrier case.

Exit the armory room, and interact with the Vending Machine nearby to shop for Items. Go up two flights of stairs, then fight the remaining soldiers in this area. Inside the next room, pick up the item from the desk on the right to steal the Pitchball Card: Gaby Gonzalez. Interact with the lever on the left desk to lower the bridge, which will give a direct path to the Vox Relay Station. Exit the main building and turn left towards the station. If you want to get additional loot, you can take the path below the bridge. To go there, turn left past the building, and use the ladder on the right side of the passage.

There's a storage room on the other side that you can open with Lockpick 4 and a Mag-Pick. Inside, you can steal the following items: x25 Shock Rod, x11 Compact Rounds, x3 Explosive GrenadeClothFoilPeacekeeper Armor, and Prestige Soda. Take the narrow path below the bridge until you reach the other side. Turn right at the end, and use the ladder to go to the ground level. If you attacked the Reverent of the Bridge similar to our playthrough, then that means that all enemies have been cleared here, and you're free to move once you see the "Access Granted" next to the mini map on the lower left side of the screen.

Go inside the small room to find a lever that can also be used to lower the bridge. There are also items here, such as Silenced Repeating RifleInfantry Cap, and Bandolier Uniform. Next to the shelf, you can use the Workbench and the Zyranium Refilling Station. Once you get past the bridge or reach the northern area of Paradise Island, you can continue the Better than Nature quest, where you have to get the Raptidon Matriarch Grafting Specimen from the Raptidon Den.

How to Get Inside the Vox Relay Station Undetected

If you have completed Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors, you can find the container on the path that lets you activate dragoons that will set off as a distraction and start attacking Protectorate soldiers on the ground.  While the dragoons are shooting at the soldiers, you can get past Vox Relay security to sneak inside or join the dragoons to eliminate the soldiers to do a direct assault.  Alternatively, you can also approach the gates of the station and talk to Sentry Second Class Lehman to convince her to help you sneak inside the station. IMPORTANT: This option requires the Writ of Conscription, which will help convince Lehman to help you. This item is acquired by completing The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals.

If you don't have the Writ with you, there's a side entrance on the left side of Vox Relay that you can open using Lockpick 3 and a Mag-Pick. The best way to reach this area is by following the white wire that you can track from the facility west of Vox Relay. The white wire will trace a path going to a small opening in a cave, with direct access to a hatch with a ladder inside the grounds of Vox Relay.  NOTE: This is a recommended path for players coming from the Skycutter A102, where they can use the lift to reach the upper grounds to Vox Relay.

Hand over the Writ of Conscription to Lehman and accept her offer. After this, the game will do a quick transition to transport you and your companions inside the station.

Exploring Vox Relay

Once inside, walk towards the door on the other end of the hallway to prompt a cutscene showing Brigadier Montelli executing Protectorate troopers. If you completed The Cadet's Degrading Dilemma, you will find Marshal Corbin here watching the horrible scene. Show him the Wrist of Conscription from Vigilant Hogarth to prompt him to share his plans to convince Brigadier Montelli to surrender. If you prefer to have Montelli surrender, make sure to choose the option where you'll agree to do things his way. Marshal Corbin will suggest checking Brigardie Montelli's private terminal, and then he will direct you on what you need to do to get to the upper levels. The objective will now be updated to obtain the Command Credentials to get access to the upper levels in Vox Relay.

Proceed to the hallway on the right and open the door to the next room. This is a multi-level room with stairs on the right and an enemy positioned for a sneak attack on the left. You can avoid making noises and take down this enemy silently, then move towards the vent to avoid alerting the enemies to your presence. However, if you get caught sneaking, this will launch a fight against all troops in the area. There will be a mix of enemies, including Protectorate Proponents, Protectorate Resolutions, and Protectorate Loyalists. Once you have defeated all enemies, move to the upper level and take out the Security Turret near the ceiling.  Exit through the door below the turret to proceed.

If you chose to sneak through the vent next to the terminal, follow the crawlspace to the right until you reach the next hallway. As you exit, follow the path to the left and open the door. Defeat all Protectorate troops here, then go to the left side of the room. Look for the red container on the metal shelf and take the items to get the Vox Relay: Uninitialized Keycard. On this side, you can also get Purpleberry Lunch and Boarst Rockets from the desk and a High Security Lockbox from a top shelf.

After looting the area, look for the vent near the ceiling. Climb the crates to get inside, then follow the crawlspace until you reach the next hallway. Jump down and follow the hallway ahead. If you have Hack 4 and a Bypass Shunt, there's a Drone Deployment Controls that you can operate to release drones. Proceed to the vent at the other end of the hallway and follow it until you reach the door to the next room.

After that, open the door to the right and prepare to take out the Protectorate troops inside. For a better chance at surviving, you can stay near the door and shoot enemies in the distance, then take cover in the walls when you need to reload your weapons. Once the room is cleared of enemies, go down to the lower area by taking the stairs on the edge of the room.

Look for a small room with a glass window and a ladder going down. Use the stairs to find Cadet Warden Atarah rambling to herself. You can convince her to leave through the sewers if you have Speech level 3. If you have progressed in Inez Silang's quest, you can also tell her that you cleared the den of Raptidons, granting her a safe passage. In return, she will give you a Vox Armory Key.

Return to the upper level and go towards the quest marker and open the door to enter the Credentials and Clearance room. Use the terminal to print the ID by choosing [Access Clearance Controls] and [Insert Credentials]. After this, you will acquire the Vox Relay: Command Credentials that you can use to enter the upper levels of Vox Relay. Return to the previous area where you dropped down, and go down the stairs. If you prefer fighting enemies head-on, you can assume position and start firing while you have the high ground advantage. You can shoot the nearest enemy to alert them to your presence. Watch out for the Protectorate Stalwart enemy, as they have heavy-hitting damage that can easily take you out if you're not careful. Try to eliminate the other troops before this enemy gets close to you.

Explore this area and look for the locked door on the left to find the Vox Relay Armory. Use the key from Cadet Warden Atarah, or use Lockpick 4 and a Mag-Pick to unlock it to reach a Workbench and get the following items:Piezoelectric Stun BatonIncendiary Light RevolverTrooper Plate CarrierPeacekeeper HelmetTrauma KitExplosive GrenadeCompact Rounds, and Short Rounds.

Head towards the quest marker to return to the area where you met Marshal Corbin earlier, or where you saw Brigadier Montelli execute his troops. Use the key to open the door. Prepare to take out the rest of the Protectorate troops and try to position yourself behind the desk and control panels to have a shield against incoming attacks. After the fight, proceed to the elevator and use it to go to the upper levels, where you will be taken to a room with 2 doors. In here, you can also replenish your supplies through the Vending Machine, do upgrades through the Workbench, and heal injuries using the AutoDoc.

Enter the room next to the Workbench to access the Brigadier General's Private Terminal to read Messages, Private Entries, and send Corbin's Official Notice of Relieving Montelli of Command. Inside Montelli's room, you can also look at the red-painted wall to reveal a secret with Observation skill. Go inside the room to get Trauma KitAdvanced Decryption KeyPitchball Card: Marc Carlton, and the 300 Bit Cartridge.

When you're ready, proceed to enter the next room where you can hear Brigadier Montelli talking to someone. Once you open the door, he will stop talking to face you. Note, our playthrough has additional dialogues because Marshal Corbin is present, and we read messages and other logs in Montelli's private terminal. To make him surrender, you will need maximum of Speech 5 or Leadership 5, and make sure that Corbin is present during this encounter.

After convincing Montelli to stand down, he will drop his weapon on the ground and you can loot it by the round platform to get Chainspark Cannon and Officer Regalia. If you fail to convince Montelli to surrender, Montelli will be supported by the rest of the Protectorate troops when the fight starts. Now is the time to use your gadgets and devices to increase your chances of survival. Try to use the round control panel and position yourself away from Brigadier Montelli's line of sight. After the fight, loot his body to get Chainspark Cannon, Officer Regalia, Bit Cartridge, and Shock Rod

To continue the quest, go towards the quest marker to locate De Vries' safe room. There are 3 ways to reveal the safe room:

  • Once inside, look for an item on the desk called White Chocolate Yummies to get De Vries Rootkit. Use it on the Control Panel at the center of the room to reveal the safe room.
  • With the Observation Skill, you can spot the fake wall in the corner
  • Examine the connection interface using Hack 3 and a Bypass Shunt

Go towards the newly-revealed room and take the following items from the container: Advanced Decryption KeyCrisis DefensesBit Cartridge, and Trauma Kit. Then, use the computer and access all her files to find out about her contact, Victor Clemens. Once you try to exit the terminal, De Vries' voice will suddenly play and prompt the self-destruction of Vox Relay, prompting you and your party to escape the station.

How to Change the Vox Relay Course

When you see the prompt to escape, remain in the room and go to the Control Panel in the center of the room to alter the course of Vox Relay's crash. NOTE: If you fail to change it, the station will crash at Fairfield, killing all civilians in the town.

  • DEFAULT: Vox relay crashes onto Fairfield. Town gets destroyed, and only Ethel Tinsley's barn/lab remains.
    • Inez is furious, but if you have Speech Skill Level 3, you can lie and keep her as a companion. Without this skill, default dialogue choices will result in Inez leaving the party PERMANENTLY.
  • Set the course of the Vox Relay to space. Requires Hack 4 and a Bypass Shunt.
  • Change the course of the vox relay to Westport. Destroys Westport, kills all NPCS there if you didn't do Milverstreet's quest and persuaded members to defect. NPCs in Westport survive if they all move to Fairfield by completing The Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice by defecting. Zebulon Tran is nowhere to be found.
  • Trait Lucky: Results unknown.

Head towards the elevator on the opposite side of the Command Center. Use it to go to the lower levels, then open the door at the end of the hallway to escape to Paradise Island. Shortly after, a cutscene will play showing the Vox Relay crash into the destination of your choosing. The end of the cutscene will mark the quest as completed, and the next quest, On the Trail of the Traitor, will automatically start.

We recommend stopping by the area to pick up and complete Quests, including meeting Tristan, one of the possible Companions. You'll also get 500 XP for discovering the location.

Picking Up Side Quests at the Free Market Station Guide

Once you arrive at the Free Market Station, head down the landing pad and keep going southwest to find Archivist Stallworth beside Guard Seybold — talk to the archivist, and she will ask if you know anything about the crash of the ACS Free Market. While talking to her, choose the option that says, "Sounds like you need some assistance. I could lend a hand," to start the quest, The Last Voyage of the ACS Free Market , and she will offer you a stipend for anything that you discover. Ask her for a tip on where to start, and she will tell you to go to the saloon or the bazaar to gather information. For more information on how to complete this quest, go to this page.

Next, you need to go to the second floor inside The 2nd Choice Saloon at the Free Market Bazaar in Free Market Station, find Fionna F. Walker, and speak to her, and start the quest, you A Collection of Rogues. If you were able to collect 15 Pitchball/Tossball cards prior to this, you can access her wares immediately. Otherwise, you have to collect more, and come back to her later.

To start Arbitrary Measures, head inside The Second Choice, located south of the bazaar in the Free Market Station. Talk to Tristan and Barney "Bruiser" Bass at the bar counter, and listen to them argue about Barney trusting Tristan. Choose the dialogue option, "If it's risk you're concerned about, have him prove himself to you," to continue the conversation, and Barney will suggest that you, along with Tristan, should head to the refugee camp in Golden Ridge to check on them. Agree to take part in his suggestion to start the quest. Arbitrary Measures will continue at the Golden Ridge, where you need to investigate the Refugee Camp, then later, return to Golden Ridge to complete it. You can find a full guide on the quest by going to this page.

After Escaping Vox Relay

After triggering Augustine De Vries' fail-safe system, head towards the Landing Pad, or use the map to fast travel. As soon as you approach your ship, Order Courier Acosta will approach you to deliver a message from one of the custodians of the Order of the Ascendant. You will receive an Order Missive, and once you go inside The Incognito, you can play it on the console in the main room. The missive will play a recording from Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar, who will direct you to meet Abbot Newell in Golden Ridge. After watching the video, head to the cockpit and use the navigator to travel to Golden Ridge in Dorado.

Golden Ridge - Landing Pad: Head to Matriarch's Mercy

Upon arriving at Golden Ridge, set your quest marker to On the Trail of the Traitor and follow it. Exit the ship, and go towards the area on the left where you see the trail of yellow wires. Turn left at the end of the ramp, and remain on this path, where you will witness a massive explosion in the distance. After seeing the disastrous event, turn left to enter the building. Cross the platform gaps and go to the opposite side, where you see murals on the wall. Pick up the 2nd mural from the left to gain a perk called Art Enthusiast. Proceed to the elevator nearby and use it to reach the ground level.

As you exit the elevator, you can see a Vending Machine in the left corner, but to progress, follow the path to the right. Exit through one of the two doors to arrive at Alexandra Station Entrance. From here, head towards the Matriarch's Mercy by following the quest marker.

If you stay by the road, you will come across an Order of the Ascendant outpost. You can talk to Initiate Orvens to get some information about the ceasefire between the two factions. Behind him, you can find his chest that can be opened with Initiate Initiate Orvens' Chest Key or Lockpick 8 and a Mag-Pick. The key can be pickpocketed or looted from Orvens. You can get Prism Burst Assault Rifle and Leaded Jumpsuit from the safe. You can also unlock a nearby locker with Lockpick 5 and a Mag-Pick to get Speedy Light Pistol.

Arriving at Matriarch's Mercy

Matriarch's Mercy is a camp where you can talk to multiple NPCs to start a number of Quests. While you're here, you can start Doctors Inside BordersPresent and Future Company Excluded, and a terminal task, For a Few Digits More. When ready, go towards the quest marker to enter the main building. Once inside the building, go up the stairs in the middle, where you can find Abbot Josef Newell and Seer Landon Wiley. When you approach them, Abbot Newell will acknowledge that he was told to expect your arrival. Towards the end, he will ask if you can help at the Outpost Opportunity for them, to preserve the peace. If you accept his request, he will give you the Writ of Investigative Inquiry, which gives access to the Manufactory.

Continue talking to Abbot Newell to accept a quest, The Invocation of Inconclusive Innocence. After learning about Victor Clemens' work at The Order of the Ascendant, you will have a new quest market at the Zyranium Manufactory VII, which is located north of the Matriarch's Mercy. To get there faster, you can teleport to the Alexandra Station Entrance, then follow the road towards the marker. Alternatively, you can also stop by the Outpost Opportunity to progress the side quest from Newell.

Investigate the Zyranium Manufactory VII

As you approach the walls of Zyranium Manufactory VII, you will start to hear announcements about the lockdown in the facility, prohibiting unauthorized entry. Continue towards the bridge and once you get to the gate, a voice will call out to you through an intercom. Use the intercom on the right side of the gate to speak with an Initiate Metadier/Initiate Agutter. At first, they will try to get you to leave, but you can explain your side by presenting the Writ from Abbot Josef Newell. By choosing this option, they will direct you to speak with someone of authority, which also prompts the beginning of the side questBeginning at the Endpoint. They will open the gates to the Manufactory, and once inside, head to the small room to the left to speak with Factor Metadier. There are multiple outcomes for this quest, and you can find the complete walkthrough by going to this page. During our playthrough, we chose to investigate the incident and sided with Marisol. This led to finding a message from Abbot Josef Newell about A Matter of Some Advisement, which also updated the objectives for On the Trail of the Traitor.

Northwest Golden Ridge: Outpost Opportunity, Fort Endurance, and Mantisaur's Nest

The Outpost Opportunity is a location that will be revealed to you by Abbot Josef Newell. He will ask you to help preserve the peace between the two factions. While you're here, you can also pick up another quest, Hazard a Gas, meet new NPCs, and gain access to a Chemistry Station. You can find a full walkthrough of the quests by going to their respective pages: The Invocation of Inconclusive Innocence and Hazard a Gas. Fort Endurance is also another location that can be explored to start the optional quests Pinching the Pupa and The Curious Case of a Cankered Chief.

Southwest Golden Ridge: Refugee Camp and Guardian Estates, and Extractorium

After exploring Northwest Golden Ridge,  fast travel to the Alexandra Station Entrance to get to the nearest checkpoint to the southwestern section of Golden Ridge. This location will be revealed by following up on the quest, Arbitrary Measures, which you can pick up at Free Market Station. Your task is to go to the Refugee Camp, and while you're here, you can also go to the Guardian Estates to pick up the quest Missive from the Lost Days.

You can also head inside the Decommissioned Autonomous Extractorium to meet Aza, one of the possible Companions in The Outer Worlds 2. Approaching the building will reveal her quest, and you can follow up on it and recruit her as you progress The Dawn of a Glorious Betrayal.

Heading to N-Ray Range

Exit the Extractorium, and follow the path to the left to go to the tracks above. While following the tracks, you can spot a cave to the left, which once served as Trooper Baylor's hideout. Stay on the tracks until you come across corpses scattered on the ground. One Order Suppressor holds a Mass Distributor. You can also find a Burst Assault Rifle, a Bit Cartridge, and a Distraction Device from an Order Intercessor.

Return to the tracks and continue down the bridge to arrive at N-Ray Range. You can see some enemies still actively fighting one another. Defeat the enemies in the area and enter the first building on the right. Open the door at the back of the room to reveal the hatch going to N-Ray Range.

Investigate N-Ray Range: Discrete Mathematics Quest

Upon entering the building, you will find a room with a trail of bloody footsteps leading towards a door. Trace the footsteps and go towards the room on the left side. You will see a corpse by the door, and there's a vent at the back. Open it and follow the path to find the Control Panel that lets you override the system lockdown. You will need the N-Ray device that lets you scan the area to see the wiring underneath to solve the puzzle. For now, leave this room and continue to the room next door, where you can find Exemplar Foxworth. Talk to her to make sense of the situation, and try to get information on Victor Clemens. It is also recommended to provide some kind of healing for her to treat her wounds, to ensure she survives during the quest.

If you heal Exemplar Foxworth, she will thank you and you will receive +1 Reputation with Order of the Ascendant. After that, she will ask you to locate the N-Ray device, and the quest Discrete Mathematics will automatically start, where you have to track down Victor Clemens to confront him. This quest can end in 3 ways: You can either eliminate Victor, persuade him to surrender, or let Aza torture him to learn about Augustine De Vries' plans. You can find a full walkthrough of this quest by going to this page. In the end, you will get the Maintenance Hatch Key to access his quarters.

During our playthrough, we chose to spare Victor Clemens. After the conversation, drop down to the left side of the room and look for the vent. Use the Maintenance Hatch Key or Lockpick 1 with a Mag-Pick to open it. Follow the crawl space until you reach a wider hallway. Then, continue to the vent on the right side until you reach Victor Clemens's room.

Once you enter the room, a transmission from Seer Landon Wiley will start playing, revealing himself as an agent working with Augustine De Vries, along with the code access to the monastery. After that, you can pick up the items inside the room to get Compact Rounds, Short Rounds, Plasma Grenade, Advanced Decryption Key, and Large Plasma Charge.

When you're done, you can exit the room through the vent. As you pass through the crawl space, you will receive a notification to accept a Flaw. If you accept it, you will gain a chance to become Camouflaged automatically, but you will take an additional 5% of your max health as N-Ray damage. At the end of the crawl space, you will arrive at the area where you spoke to Victor Clemens via the intercom. Use the elevator on the left side to go back to Matriarch's Mercy to talk to Abbot Newell to progress the quest.

Report to Abbot Newell in Matriarch's Mercy

Speak to Abbot Josef Newell at his previous spot. This time, he will be alone and panicked about the incident happening at the Monastery, and he thinks that Seer Landon Wiley is trapped. You will learn from him that his code is not working, preventing him from using the lift. You can find out from him that both sides of the factions are discussing peace talks in the Monastery. After this, he will give you directions to go to the Observatory, where the peace talks are being held. You can input the conspirators' code on the terminal if you went inside Archivist Victor Clemens' quarters at the N-Ray Range. After that, go inside the lift and interact with the prompt to travel to Alexandra Monastery.

Arriving at Alexandra Monastery

Exit the elevator, then go to the back to find the corpse of an Order Novice. Loot the body to get an assortment of Consumables, including a Trauma Kit. As you step out, you'll hear 2 students talking together near the telescopes. You will find corpses lying on the ground, which you can loot for Items and Junk. Go towards the open door beyond the balcony to hear Seer Landon Wiley talking through a broadcast. Inside this room, you can pick up Distraction Device and an Explosive Grenade from the table.

Open the door in the middle of the room to venture further into the Monastery. To the right of the hallway, you can find a Vending Machines at the base of the stairs. Return to the hallway and continue towards a door at the end to arrive at the garden area. You'll find Rogue Order Disciple and Rogue Order Seer enemies here who are immediately hostile. The enemies also use a healing drone that must be destroyed when you get a chance. After defeating all enemies, go towards the bathhouse area that looks like a binocular on the map. If you're having trouble locating this, you can use the N-Ray Device Scanner to trace the wires. On the left side of the hallway, you can open the door to a locker room where you can find a Datapad with a Bathroom Note.

Return to the hallway before, and defeat the enemies in the bathhouse. Go to the building on the right and examine the Datapad next to the Circuit Breaker to read about a Note of Complaint. This includes information about Raleigh's need to locate a reference book for their research. If you have Hack 8, you can redirect the power to the courtyard; otherwise, you have to locate The Essential History of Mechanized Doors: How They Open, Close, and Everything in Between. To find this book, head towards the Anchorhold mentioned in the data pad. This area is located opposite the bathhouse, and the quest marker will also be updated to this location, making it easy to follow.

Once you enter the room, you will hear Anchoress Chao and Anchoress Brun having a debate. You can prompt a conversation by interacting with the podium in the middle of the room. You can interrupt their debate and ask them if they have the book. To which Anchoress Brun will tell you that she'll put it in the collection drawer after they're done with their debate. Allow them to continue their debate, then contribute to the discussion when asked. Choosing the second option, "There are times when war is necessary to prevent greater evil from taking place.",  will prompt them to talk about a reference material that they need to settle their debate. You can entertain their request and offer to help them to start the side quest Imprisoned by the Riddles of Reality. You can find a walkthrough by going to this page here. After the conversation ends, you can go to the Anchorite Drawer to pick up the book for the circuit breaker

Return to the bathhouse and use the book to rewire the power. Then, exit the bathhouse, and go to the newly opened door to the building on the left. Follow the quest marker by going up the stairs. Turn left on the second level, where you can see a Vending Machine. Go inside the room next to the machine to reach the hallway to the Novice Dormitory.

Turn right and open the first door to enter the dorm area, where you can fight a Rogue Order Coercer enemy. You can also loot a Synergy Boosters from the cabinet in the dorm common area. Then, go inside the kitchen to loot Items like Resources, Distraction Device, and the Log: Novice's Complaint recording from the table. Unbar the door to the right of the kitchen to unlock the shortcut back to the hallway with a vending machine. You can also unjam the door at the back with Brawny or Engineering 5, but this path also leads to the same hallway as the one outside.

Inside this room, you will find an enemy lurking on the right side, under a cabinet. Open the door at the back and watch out for the enemy that will immediately attack you. Turn left and cross the hallway to reach the building on the other side. The first room on the right is Abbot Josef Newell's quarters, where you can go inside to loot Items, Junk, and Resources. You can also open the cabinet to pick up the Corrosive Plasma Pistol. In the corner of the room, you can find Newell's personal terminal, which you can access for information, Messages from Proctor Svoboda, Ruth Basar, and a conjecture that can be solved by finding the required information, or Science 8, or Hack 8 with a Bypass Shunt. The room also has a locked door that you can open with Lockpick 8 and a Mag-Pick.

Continue to the end of the hallway and use the stairs to go to the ground level. Here, you can see Seer Landon Wiley on the TV broadcasting their propaganda. You can also find a Vending Machine at the back of the tables, on the base of the stairs. Proceed to the reception area, and go to the next hallway to see a path going down. Use the stairs at the end to reach the Applied Science Quadrant, where you can hear hostages calling out for help. Enter the room to progress the quest.

Step on the platform in the middle of the room to prompt the call with Seer Landon Wiley. He will warn you that the hostages will die unless you intervene. If you have Aza in your party, she will talk to you about the action you should take. Saving them will buy some time for Seer Landon Wiley, but you will earn +3 Reputation Points with Order of the Ascendant. On the other hand, choosing to abandon them will cause you to lose 3 Reputation points with the same faction.

How to Save the Hostages in Alexandria Monastery

To save the hostages, go through the door on the right that says "Be a Hero". This room leads to a table with the mark "Orb Here" and an AutoDoc at the base of the stairs. Use the stairs to go up to the upper area. You'll notice a control panel in the middle of the garden that controls the openings for the orb. Directly behind this, you'll find the door to the Library and Special Collections building.

Eliminate all the enemies inside this area and go up to the 2nd floor. Look for the jammed door, which you can open with Brawny or Engineering 5. Pull the lever to enable the power, then pick up the book on the table to get Only Real Numbers: The Casualties of Appeasement (Second Edition) by Exemplar R. Kuang. If you don't have a means to unjam the door, you can look for the doorway with the red paint pointing to it, then follow this path to go through the vent to reach the same room.

To progress the objective to save the hostages, step on the pressure plate to prompt the orb or marble to roll. When the orb comes to a stop, drop down the hole on the ground to reach the first floor. From here, go to the middle of the yard and shoot the 3 metal boxes blocking the path of the ball. Use the lever to adjust the metals to clear the path. Then, step on the two pressure plates to keep the ball rolling.

Go to the table where the orb dropped and pick up the items to get Auto-Pneumatic Keypunch Activation Keycard and Pinnacle Perfume Kilo. Go inside the room where the hostages are being held to restore the Keypunch Controls, then click the prompt again to disable the Keypunch to save the hostages. Alternatively, you can activate the cycle to kill the hostages.

Where to Find the Bell Towers

After deciding the fate of the hostages, proceed to the door that says "Betray Your Values". You can find a Vending Machine on the left side of the path and corpses of Order members everywhere. Proceed to the door at the end to reach the courtyard, where you'll see a few Rogue Order Disciple, Rogue Order Suppressor, and Rogue Order Seer enemies.

Defeat all enemies here then go to the center to reach the gazebo. On the right, you can enter the building to get a Mural Fragment that is essential to complete this collectible quest. After that, head towards the stairs and interact with the lever on the podium to unlock the Bell Tower. Defeat the enemies that will be alerted to your action, then take note of the new quest markers on your map.

Go towards the first Bell Tower then go up to the second floor to activate the lever will prompt the bell sequence. Continue to the next quest marker and defeat the Rogue Order enemies that will spawn.  Enter the building and go up to the second floor to activate the second bell tower. After this, head to the top of the grand stairs again to enter the Observatory.

Inside the Observatory

Open the first door to reach the upper level of the observatory. To the right, you can examine a datapad next to a control panel to learn about the Order Initiate Scavenger Hunt. It gives hints about the dial setting to solve the riddle.

Go down to the middle platform, then look to the right where you can see a display case. You can open this Display Case using the Abbot's Universal Key, or pick the access with Lockpick 12 and a Mag-Pick, or find a vulnerability in the Access Podium (requires Ex-Convict). The universal key can be acquired by killing Seer Landon Wiley and looting it from his body, or spare Seer Landon Wiley and speak to Abbot Josef Newell in the Observatory, or pickpocket it from Seer Landon Wiley.

Go to the hallway behind the display case to find datapads that can be examined to gain information about the riddle. Proceed to the quest marker and open the doorways to enter the room where you can confront Seer Landon Wiley. This conversation can end in 2 ways: You can persuade him to stand down, using Speech 5 and the information containing Abbot Josef Newell's acts from the terminals. Otherwise, all conversation choices will lead to a fight where you must defeat Seer Landon Wiley. NOTE: Seer Landon Wiley will also become hostile if you somehow ended up killing the Abbot before getting to him.

To spare Seer Landon Wiley, choose the Speech skill check to end the conversation. Use the terminal behind him and view all of their transmissions to learn about their plans and all their actions in the past. Copy the Peace Talks Data to cartridge to acquire the Peace Talks Data Cartridge, and to complete the quest On the Trail of the Traitor. After this, the next quest Fiends in High Places will automatically start.

Leaving Golden Ridge

After the encounter with Seer Landon Wiley, exit the Observatory to find Abbot Josef Newell waiting for you at the steps. He will ask you about what happened with Seer Landon Wiley, and you can tell him exactly what happened, or instruct him to go inside to check the Observatory. We recommend being friendly with Abbot Josef Newell since you can get an item from him, especially if you have not had the means to open the display case in the observatory.

Choose the friendly options to prompt him to acknowledge that he needs to do better. After that, he will give you Abbot's Universal Key, if you haven't opened the display case. You will still earn +1 Reputation Point with the Order of the Ascendant, regardless if the case was opened prior, or not.

Mission Briefing at The Incognito

When you enter your ship, you'll find your companions gathered at the main room. VALERIE informs you that the best plan is to head to Greater Tranquility Substation, while the others are in the middle of planning the next steps. Niles is focused on going after De Vries, and suggests stopping her before she gets to the peace talk delegates. If you choose to save the hostages in On the Trail of the Traitor, VALERIE will inform you that De Vries has the codes to control the station's security automechanicals that can be deployed to stop you.

With Leadership 2, you have a dialogue option that says "I'm not worried. With our team, we can handle anything". After this, you will lose the Peace Talks Data Cartridge, and you can now space travel to Greater Tranquility Station using the Navigation Terminal in the cockpit.

Arriving at the Greater Tranquility Station

Go towards the parked ship opposite The Incognito. Jump over the short pillar in the corner of the fence and do a double jump to enter the parking perimeter. Open the door to the ship, where you can find an Earth Directorate Satellite at the back. You can interact with it if you have the Scrapper perk. Examine the data pad on the ground next to the tools to read A Private Journal. You'll also be able to acquire an Advanced Decryption Key next to the Private Journal. Head towards the facility with control desks. On the right side of the path, you can find a control wheel that lets you disable the Landing Pad Gate Hydraulics with Engineering Level 5.

Go to the hallway and enter the room on the right to speak with Factor Iuvino. He demands to know your identity, and it appears that De Vries has already warned him about you. We recommend defusing the situation and persuading him to not attack you. If you're successful, he will give you the Greater Tranquility Mechanist Override Codes, and he will tell you about Agent De Vries' plans to go to the forum chamber to eliminate the peace talk delegates. After that, he will immediately run after talking to you. You can also find a Workbench in the corner of the room to do upgrades for yourself and your party.

While it is not recommended, you can also opt to fight with Factor Iuvino by choosing the dialogue that has the [Attack] option. You'll be facing him along with a few other enemies, such as a Rogue Order Disciple, Verachnid Mines, and Protectorate Wasps. Choosing this option does not grant you the Greater Tranquility Mechanist Override Codes.

Making Your Way Through The Station

After using the Workbench, there's an elevator next to it that you can use to scale upwards. There will be a hallway you can enter on the right side. Inside, you'll find a locked container with a Trauma Kit, Bypass Shunt, and an Exultation Lung Sanitizer. After acquiring them, work your way towards the end of the hallway to find a terminal to learn more about the closure of the Greater Tranquility Substation. Once you're done in this area, head back and make your way down the lift.

From the elevator, proceed to the left area and use the stairs to reach another lift below. This will lead you to the lower floors of the Greater Tranquility Substation. Once you're there, head inside the open path on the right side.

There will be a Fuse Box you can examine, as well as a terminal. You'll need to have a Greater Tranquility Station Fuse to complete the power circuit. You can acquire one just beside the control panel in the corner. You can also opt to use a Fashion Makeshift Fuse using 1 Scrap Metal, 1 Foil, and have your Engineering Skill to level 4. You can also rewire the Fuse Box with Hack 4 or the Perk Electro-Therapist

Afterward, head to the terminal to revert the Automechanical's targeting protocol by choosing the option [Automechanical Function Commands] and [Revert Targeting Protocol]. Afterward, you'll have to choose [Write to Cartridge]. You'll then gain the Greater Tranquility Station Targeting Protocol.

Before you head to the next spot, double jump your way to the platform across. You'll be able to find a container with a few bits, along with a Sniper Rifle. You can now proceed by entering the lift just outside the room. This time, the lift will travel horizontally and will lead you across to the next area.

After arriving at the next area, head right. You'll be able to see a control panel where you can upload the targeting protocol using the Greater Tranquility Station Targeting Protocol retrieved from the terminal or use the Greater Tranquility Mechanist Override Codes retrieved from Factor Iuvino. You can also overload the dispatched Dragoons with Hack 4 and 1 Bypass Shunt

We recommend uploading the targeting protocol as this will cause the Dragoons to malfunction and aim at the enemies in the next room. Once that's done, you can enter the room using a vent on the left side or use the main door in front of the lift. You still have to be careful here, as the room is filled with multiple Protectorate Dragoon MKII.

Get rid of all of the remaining enemies and head to the middle area. Here you'll be able to acquire Potassium Crystals and a Greater Tranquility Maintenance Access. Head inside the small entrance next to the control panel and you'll be able to see a ladder leading to a lower floor.  Once you're at the bottom, keep moving forward and you'll enter an area with a secret door. To access the hidden door, make your way across the area and head to the middle section. There will be a Flywheel on the ground that we can use as an indicator for the secret room. You'll have to search next to the Flywheel in the middle area to unlock a secret door. Do note that this requires you to have Observation or Tristan with you to find the secret passage.

Inside, you'll be able to pick up a Greater Tranquility Staff Log and the Pitchball Card: Erica Wang. Once you've acquired the items, head outside the secret room and make your way across again. On the right side, there will be a door where you can use the Greater Tranquility Maintenance Access. This will lead you to an area with a giant fan on the right corner where you'll have to use your Tactical Time Dilation Gadget to squeeze through. Once you're through, you'll find a small opening on the right. Enter that room and you'll be able to find a Greater Tranquility Station Fuse

Once you've obtained the Fuse, the door behind you will now be accessible. Head outside and climb the ladder to the top. This will lead you to a door that you can open to easily access the Fuse Box. Insert the Station Fuse and head outside. There will be another lift that is now accessible.

Use the lift to get to the next area. Once you're there will be another fan you'll need to squeeze through. Use the Tactical Time Dilation Gadget once more and climb up the ladder on the left side. This will lead you to a room with a Mod Bench where you'll need either Guns 5, the Brilliant Trait, or the Tinkerer Perk. There will also be Vendor Mech where you can purchase an Advanced Decryption Key and The Black Hat. You can also enter the room the Vendor Mech is in by having 1 Mag-Pick and Lockpick 12. Additionally, there is a Vending Machine, an AutoDoc station, and a Pitchball Card: Ryan Powell you can pick up inside the locker on the left side of the room.

Head downstairs once you're done in this area. Below, you'll see a terminal with a message about the decommissioning process. Behind the terminal is a control panel where you'll need another Greater Tranquility Station Fuse. The Station Fuse can be acquired by proceeding to the right most area beside a door. There will be a Greater Tranquility Station Fuse you can remove. Head back to the terminal area once you've removed the station fuse and place it into the control panel.

This will unlock a door next to the Workbench. Inside, you'll be greeted with Verachnid Mines. Defeat them so you can explore the room. On the left side, there will be a locked door which you can access by having Lockpick 8 and 1 Mag-Pick. Once you've unlocked the door, you'll be able to acquire the Volted Plasma Beam Caster, Union Diffuser, and a Large Plasma Charge. You'll also find a broken-down wall in front of the door. Here you'll need to use the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus to reach the other side. Here, you'll be able to find the Mechanist De Soto's Notes, along with a few other resources.

Head back outside and remove the Station Fuse from the control panel. Afterward, head back to the right most section of area and proceed to the control panel in front. Insert back the Greater Tranquility Station Fuse and use the lift outside the door to reach the next area. Once you're past the lift, progress forward and you'll see a control center nearby. Next to it is a trolley with a container. Here you'll be able to acquire the Pitchball Card: Siri Xie. You can also discover a notepad "Bridge Maintenance Notes" if you have Observation or Tristan in your party.

Once you've acquired them, keep progressing forward and you'll eventually reach the Automechanical Control Hub behind the stairs. You'll have three options here to disable the automechanical bays.

It is recommended to choose the first option to disable all of the automechanical bays. You can only get this item if you were able to successfully persuade Factor Iuvino to hear you out. Afterward, head upward the stairs and defeat the enemies across you.

On the two corners of the platform, there will be a Greater Tranquility Station Fuse you can pick up. Once you've picked up the fuse, head over to the fan behind it and use the Tactical Time Dilation Gadget to sneak through. Drop down from the fan and head inside the area below. There will be a control panel where you can use the Greater Tranquility Station Fuse. Repeat this for the other corner and a bridge will open up in the middle. Defeat the remaining Rogue Order Obviators and enter the door across. Inside the door, there will be a terminal you can use to learn more about the decommissioning process at Greater Tranquility Substation. Once you're done, inside the elevator to reach the next area.

From this point on, it will be a linear path until you reach Augustine De Vries'. You'll encounter a few deceased technicians and engineers along the way. You can loot them for a few resources but once you're done, keep progressing forward. At the end of the path, above the staircase, is a door where you will confront Augustine De Vries.

Should You Spare or Kill Augustine De Vries in Outer Worlds 2

Once you enter the door, you'll strike a conversation with Augustine De Vries. You'll have three options here. To kill De Vries, spare De Vries but she kills the delegates, or let her live and surrender, saving the delegates. While you can choose any of the three options to your liking, we recommend sparing De Vries while saving the delegates as it is the best outcome possible.

To spare Augustine De Vries, and get her to surrender, you'll first need to talk to her. On the very first dialogue, you may choose any of the options available. She'll tell you that she had no choice but to do as she did in Horizon Point and that she's prepared to do it again. She claims that killing the delegates is the only way to close the rifts before it's too late. Tell De Vries that you both can work together. She'll tell you that she's at her limit and an additional info about a high priority message from the Chief of Ops inside the cartridge. You'll then acquire the Earth Directorate Data Cartridge. The rift near the station will also explode, and you'll have to escape the station. Ultimately, sparing Augustine De Vries, saving the delegates, and stop Niles from turning hostile towards you. This is one of the choices you can make during the Fiends in High Places Main Quests. Do note that Niles does not approve of sparing De Vries, but you'll be able to calm him down. You'll need to speak with him once you're back at the ship.

If you opt to kill Augustine De Vries, you can choose any of the dialogue that has [Attack] in it. This prompts a battle with her. She'll be alone and will deal little to no damage, offering no threat to you. Once you've defeated her, you can still acquire the Earth Directorate Data Cartridge from a stool next to her, and you can loot her body to collect De Vries' Jacket and a Plasma Pistol. If you choose to spare De Vries, and allow her to kill the hostages, Niles will turn on you. You'll be left with no choice but to kill him then and there, permanently removing him. Essentially, all of the choices will result in the rift exploding. Whether you spare Augustine De Vries or not, you'll still be able to acquire the Data Cartridge. Aside from that you can also pickup The Simplifier next to the stool as well as the Pitchball Card: Chris Cheung.

Escaping the Station

Once the rift has exploded, you'll have to return back to Incognito. You'll see that the whole station is running down and in fires. Starting from your current location up to the Incognito Ship is just a linear path. There are no enemies nor any items you can pick up, so work your way around the debris until you reach the ship. Once your back at the ship, you'll enter a cutscene where you see the station getting destroyed and the Grand Plan Wireless station starts. The quest Fiends in High Places is now completed.

Escape to The Incognito

After the events at the Greater Tranquility Station, you will escape to The Incognito to reconvene with your Companions. First, VALERIE will give you an update about the information you've gathered after completing Fiends in High Places, and it will inform you about the fate of the delegates. NOTE: In our playthrough, we opted to convince Augustine De Vries to stand down, and we were able to save both delegates. After this, VAL will ask about which mission to pursue first. Then, once you learn about receiving a message from Auntie Cleo, choose to respond with "Tell me what it says" to find out that you have been invited to their headquarters at the ACS Undisputed Claim and hear about a Faction quest called, Now Hiring: Invaluable Disposable Agent.

Speak with Companions Aboard the Ship

Leave the cockpit to find Niles Abara waiting outside. He is visibly distraught after letting Augustine De Vries escape. He's at a crossroads and is having trouble trusting you to make hard decisions. NOTE: This conversation can lead to Niles Abara leaving your party permanently and affect his personal ending if you fail to reason with him. Choices you make here will be remembered. All choices except "I've had enough of your judgments. If you have a problem with me, then leave" will prompt him to ask for time to think about his plans. The mentioned dialogue choice will cause him to leave the party permanently, and you can confirm this by talking to VALERIE. We recommend reasoning with him so you can still do his Companion quest and unlock a better mod kit for him later on. After this conversation, you will be unable to talk to him for a while, but he will remain in your party, regardless.

Look for Tristan Rao and talk to him. Entertain his concerns to unlock his personal quest called Listening For a Clue, where he will ask you to visit Vox Relay in Paradise Island to follow up on a lead.

The ACS Undisputed Claim: How to Ask Auntie's Choice for Support

Using the astrogator in The Incognito's cockpit, hover to The ACS Undisputed Claim to travel to Auntie's Choice headquarters. Your goal here is to gain the trust of Auntie's Choice by doing quests for them, and eventually ask them for their help to take down the Archive. You can either opt to work with just Auntie's Choice or persuade them to work together with the Order of the Ascendant. The latter requires having a high Speech level (max of 20) to pass the required skill checks, as well as negotiating a deal that's amenable to both sides.

From the Landing Pad, head towards the building that says "Client Intake"; the sign is easy to spot since there's a large picture of their CEO and an Auntie's Choice sign. Before you enter, go to the right side of the path to speak to Auxiliary Dabbler Hacklemesh and accept his request to work with him to prompt a quest, Wanted: Loose Raptidon Wrangler, and gain Creature Cargo Access Card. Go further towards the building and use the intercom to speak with the Client Intake Specialist.

Client Intake Specialist Hoogerhyde will then check your standing with corporate affairs. You can tell her that you have an invitation from Gertie Hewett (if you received one), but she will tell you that she still needs to check your record with them. She'll also ask you if you want to agree to putting up an Auntie's Choice advertisement on the ship. If you have the Intimidator perk, you can choose the dialogue option that says, "I could beat you severely around the face, torso, and neck. Or you could throw in more." This will prompt her to give you x850 Bit Cartridge, and you will earn +3 Reputation points with Auntie's Choice.

Inside the Client Intake

Go inside the facility after providing your information to Hoogerhyde. Once inside, go to the room behind her, then open the door to the bathroom on the right. You can pick up a Tossball Card: Casey Hambrick from the toilet, and steal the Auntie-Biotics Creme on the sink.

Return to the hallway and continue towards the Tram Station. Past this sign, you can talk to Contract Query Replier, but she charges bits for each question. You can also steal a Mag-Pick from the table behind her, but you need to distract her, or she'll be watching you closely.  Continue to the hallway to the right of the replier, and follow this path towards the quest marker. Wait for the tram to arrive, then go inside it once the door opens. The control panel on one end lets you choose your destination. For now, you'll have access to the [2] The Value-Added Esplanade.

The Value-Added Esplanade: Side Quests

Exit the tram, and you will hear the Courier call out to you, asking if you're traveling with an Inez. Talk to him to receive a Message for Inez from Ortiz. You can watch it once you return to your ship, to prompt Inez's personal quest, A Most Extraordinary Specimen. For now, go towards the center and go through the large door to arrive at the area where you can find various Vendors in their storefronts.

While walking, you will hear an NPC (Suspicious Character) call out to you and say that you dropped something. You will receive a message discussing an "exciting business opportunity" from a Middle Manager Twombly. You will gain a Surreptitiously-Conveyed Employment Offer, which mentions a quest that you can follow up on. You can find the full walkthrough of this quest here.

While in this area, you can also find Thessaly Falk standing in front of a wall-sized advertisement. Speak to her to learn about the advertisement that they're working on. You will unlock a quest that can increase your reputation with Auntie's Choice. Click here to find a full walkthrough of the quest.

Going to the Head Office Tower: Speak to the Representatives

Continue to the hallway behind her and head towards the door at the end marked "Head Office Tower". Once inside, go up the stairs and enter another room, where you can speak to Head Office Intake Specialist Tolliver and Vice President Gertie Hewett. Speak to the VP, who is standing on the left side of the room. You can unlock the quest, An Equitable Arrangement, which allows you to pursue an objective where you try to get both factions to work together.

First, you'll need to work on a series of Faction Quests to earn the trust of the leaders. NOTE: This is optional, but is recommended for players who wish to have a diplomatic approach to the ending, which also requires a high level of Speech (Level 20). This quest can also be unlocked by talking to the representative of the Order of the Ascendant, Vicar Laureate Alden Levin, in LaPlace's Garden.

To progress, speak with Tolliver at the desk, and he will give you the direction to enter the room on your left. Go inside the next room, and talk to C F Pendergrass III VP of Strategic Reconfiguration, and Ursula Ormsby VP of Proprietary Insight Acquisition. They will tell you about the quest, Now Hiring: Invaluable Disposable Agent, where you have to break the strike at the Product Refinement Center on Praetor. You have to speak to the employees and representatives at Auntie's Fine Product Revitalization Center to negotiate terms that are agreeable for both parties. After doing so, you will return to ACS Undisputed Claim to report the results of your negotiations.

When you're done, your next quest is to work on Mysteries of the Mental Modulators. During this quest, you'll be tasked to find a way towards the western side of Praetor, and reach the Placid Waters Wellnitarium to recruit the Head Refresher and collect Mental Refreshment Materials. After this, you will return to ACS Undisputed Claim to report the results of your investigation. You will be granted a conversation with Auntie Cleo, where she'll tell you that she'll accept this deal if you agree to give them the Archive. She will warn you that you'll get on The Order's bad side if you agree to this deal. This is where you will make a decision to proceed working with Auntie's Choice only, or if you want to approach this diplomatically, and have both factions work together.

IF you accept Auntie Cleo's offer, you will unlock a quest called Recall Order for the Trifurcated Brain. This quest will require you to secure the Archive in Praetor for Auntie's Choice, while they will offer support to deal with the Protectorate troops in the area. NOTE: Accepting to work with one faction will also fail the quest An Equitable Arrangement and lock you out of the opposing faction's questlines. You will also be deemed traitorous and earn the "kill on sight" status from the opposing faction at the end of the quest. After completing the third quest, you will unlock The Last Day of William Wray. This quest is only available if you choose to work with AC exclusively.

How to Get Both Factions to Work Together in The Outer Worlds 2

In the quest A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum, you have the option of convincing both faction leaders to work together to take down the Protectorate's defenses at the Archive. To do this, you will need to complete the Faction Quests of both sides, then, once you start talking to either Ruth Basar or Auntie Cleo, tell them that you want both factions to work together. Specifically, the dialogue choice that says "[Speech Level 7] I consider you a wise leader, Bishop. Wise enough to see the potential benefits here" or the one that's available to the Negotiator perk. After you choose this, you will get asked again if you are sure of this attempt at alliance, than to work exclusively with one faction. This option is available by completing the quest, An Equitable Arrangement, which will eventually require Speech Level 20 while mediating the negotiations.

After confirming that you want both factions to work together, go to the other faction (in this case, Auntie's Choice in ACS Undisputed Claim) to prompt a conversation with their representative. Vice President Gertie Hewett will confirm that she heard the news from Alden Levin. After this, you will need to complete the 2nd Faction quest, which is the Mysteries of Mental Modulators. This will allow you to speak with Auntie Cleo herself, giving you the chance to convince her to work with the Order of the Ascendant. Auntie Cleo will bring up a message from Ruth Basar, to which you can reply with one of the following choices:

  • Whose idea it was is unimportant. Are you willing to speak with her?
  • Why lie? It was all my brilliant idea.
  • Well, it was really the delegates who put me up to it...
  • Yes, but now that I've had time to think about it, I don't think you should meet with her.

Choose the first option, and she will ask you again if you are sure about this collaboration. Then, finally, you will decide that you want this to continue by choosing the dialogue option that says, "I'm sure. I want Auntie's Choice and the Order to work together." Use the elevator in the reception room, and go to Level [1] Secure Telecommunications, where you will handle the negotiations between the two leaders. This negotiation requires specific dialogue choices to convince them to work together, which you can find in this quest page. Right before Auntie Cleo leaves the call, she will ask you to meet her, which prompts the quest called The Mechanical Matriarch. (This quest must be completed first before progressing the main quest and the An Equitable Arrangement.)

As the negotiation goes on, you will hear from Ruth Basar about the Computronical Key called the Calcaduceus, which will grant full control of the Archive systems. By proceeding to work with factions, the objectives of securing the Archive and liberating the Spireton can be found under the quest An Equitable Arrangement, as opposed to the exclusive quests Methods of Applied Force (The Order of the Ascendant) and Recall Order for the Trifurcated Brain (Auntie's Choice). You will also unlock Agenda for Altered States, a faction quest that will be prompted by Ruth Basar herself.

After completing the individual quests of the Faction leaders, you will hear from them again for another quest. Each of them will ask you to assassinate the opposing leader, and you can unlock either Head Games of the Marketing Maven (Auntie's Choice) or The Final Lesson (Order of the Ascendant).

Other Quests in ACS Undisputed Claim

After completing Inez's companion quest, A Most Extraordinary Specimen, you will be able to unlock one of two quests: Full Measures or Half-Truths in Advertising. Both of these quests will start in the ACS Undisputed Claim, but the availability of the quests will depend how you choose to end the previous quest. You can find the full walkthrough and guide on this page

    1. Defeat Vaillancourt and return to Dr. Hurley if you convinced her to stay
    2. Defeat Vaillancourt and check on Dr. Hurley if she survived (if you let her distract Vaillancourt)
    3. Accept the deal and leave the facility without having to fight him

How to Get to the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center

Upon arriving at Praetor, your goal is to reach the facility that keeps the Rift Anomaly Modulator. This device is contained inside the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center, which is heavily guarded by The Protectorate. There are 3 ways to get there: (1) Find your way through Auntie's Choice tunnel, (2) Pass through the Automech Production Facility, or (3) Pass through the secret tunnel within the Tomb of the Matriarch. This walkthrough will include all options that are available for this quest, and each section will cover a specific guide per pathway.

Pass through the Automech Production Facility

From the Landing Pad, proceed to the western area by following the road that leads to the factory. First, walk towards north, where you will encounter various Raptidon creatures and Scrapper troops. Once you turn west towards the facility, you will encounter Gorvid Brute, Gorvid Regurgitator, and Gorvid Lurker enemies. These enemies have high health bars and powerful attacks, which makes a direct encounter difficult; it is recommended to eliminate them from a distance before they get close to your party. As you walk towards the facility, you will receive a message from VALERIE when you're about 100m away, prompting the Better by Factors Companion quest. This is VAL's 2nd and final companion quest, which will give you a Mod Kit to upgrade it.

The compound of the facility is filled with several hostile drones, turrets, and automechs that will shoot you on sight. It is recommended to stay outside of the facility while you shoot down the Dragoon MK IV. After this, you can turn your attention to the turrets that are stationed at the compound.

Enter the building with the red light on the left side. Pick up the Shockwave Pulse Hammer from the table. Next to this, you can find a terminal that can control the facility's loading dock charging stations. To do this, you can insert The Loading Entrance Security Keycard, or manually engage recharge routines with Automech Jammer (Perk) or Manual Reset (Perk).

Enter the facility through the main door. On this level, you can find a Workbench to do party and personal upgrades. Open the door to progress your exploration. You will find Protectorate troops in the next room, who you need to defeat to continue. Defeat all enemies, including the ones that will be alerted to your presence if you choose to fight them head-on. After the fight, you can use the Vending Machine on the right side of the hallway.

Open the door at the other end of the room to proceed to the locker area. Turn right to examine the nearest row of lockers. The 2nd locker from the left holds the Pitchball Card: James Melilli. You can find another Vending Machine here, right next to the other row of lockers. If you want to find VALERIE's Mod Kit, you can go to this page for the full walkthrough. From here, look for the door to the next room, just past the Vending Machine.

The next room will be guarded by Protectorate troops, Protectorate Wasp MK IV, and a Protectorate Dragoon MK IV. Minimize the enemies that you are fighting by staying in the previous room. This lets you take out enemies one by one, giving you an advantage over the swarm of enemies. As you move inside the next room, watch out for the troops that are stationed on the upper floor.

At the back of the room, you can interact with the Automechanical Assembly Station that lets you recover a Zap Mod. You can do this with Guns Level 11 Skill, Nimble (Trait), or Scrapper (Perk). From this table, open the door to the right to find the exit to the western side. The grounds are guarded by Protectorate Wasp MK IV and Protectorate Dragoon MK IV. Once you step out, the quest objective will be updated. Interact with the lever next to the gate to disable the power, and safely pass through the gate.

Heading Towards the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center

From the facility, follow the road towards the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center. Watch out for the Protectorate troops in this area, as they are stationed in nearly every corner. In the distance, you'll see a tower with Protectorate Executor on the right side. Across this tower, you'll find Protectorate Vanquisher, Protectorate Opposer, and Protectorate Testifier enemies. Make sure to defeat each group of enemies as you move forward, or they can outnumber you.

As you follow the road, turn right to find a blockade that is also being guarded by Protectorate troops. Continue past this area, and follow the road leading to the quest marker. Towards the end of the road, you'll find a Protectorate Dragoon MK III guarding the post. However, this automech is not immediately hostile, and you can approach it without getting shot. It will warn you that non-Protectorate personnel are considered enemies, which will prompt it to attack you after it delivers its orders.

Climb the tower through the stairs on the right side and examine the Datapad next to the control desk. This contains the Personal Datapad of Warden 3rd Class Preston. Then, pick up the Mag-Pick right below the screen next to it. Go to the opposite side and interact with the terminal to access information about Confiscated Items and Messages. Read all of the entries, and pick up the Bypass Shunt on the corner.

Pass Through the Tomb of the Matriarch

From the Landing Pad, proceed to the Tomb of the Matriarch by following the road that leads to the northern area of the map. As you walk towards the north, you will encounter various Raptidon creatures and Scrapper troops. Once you arrive at the steps, you can see Zebulon Tran waiting. Ideally, you will want to pass through the tomb while traveling with Niles Abara, and while progressing his personal quest, Do More Harm. This quest will help you navigate the area, which has a secret tunnel that is connected to the western side of Praetor.

Outside the Interstitial Reconfiguration Center

After exploring the outpost, return to the road and continue towards the quest marker. The entryway is empty, and there are no guards stationed, just like what the Datapad mentioned earlier. As you enter the perimeter of the facility, you will hear an announcement from Security Chief Vaillancourt asking everyone to head inside for an important announcement from the Consul.

Look for the lift on the left side of the building, then interact with the switch to go to the upper grounds. The upper grounds are patrolled by Protectorate Dragoon MK III, together with Protectorate Wasp MK III. There are also turrets located throughout the grounds. Head towards the door across the lift, and you can open it with Lockpick 4 and a Mag-Pick. ALTERNATE: You can use the N-Ray Device to track the switch that operates this door, or jump over the fence on the right side by following the yellow wires. After getting past the locked door, use the door on the left side to finally enter the facility.

Upon entering the facility, you will find yourself in a storage room with a Workbench. Open the door next to the workbench, and once you step inside, you will hear another announcement from the Security Chief, restricting access to the Interstitial Hall. If needed, you can use the ladder right outside the door and use it to access the balcony, where you can use the AutoDoc. On this level, you will also see the control switch that indicates "Lockdown Active".

Just behind this switch, you will see a Rift Anomaly floating near the stairs. Drop down to this area, but avoid getting close to the anomaly. Go up the stairs, then turn left until you reach the other end. If you have Engineering 4, you can interact with the control wheel that seals the Arcillary Hangar Doors. It is recommended to do it before you proceed further into the facility, especially if you will choose to help Dr. Hurley and fight Vaillancourt later on. This prompt will prevent the Protectorate troops from entering the hangar, limiting the support of their Security Chief.

Look for the door with the sign "Security" above it. Once you enter, you can see a terminal by the entrance. Examine it to find information about Arrival & Departure Logs and Requisition Error. Read all of the entries, then pick up the Bypass Shunt next to it. As you walk towards the middle of the room, a broadcast from Consul Emory Thoreau will start playing on the screen. The broadcast announces that the beloved Sovereign has submitted himself to Mental Refreshment, and he, Consul Emory Thoreau, will now be guiding everyone during his absence.

To the left, you can use a Vending Machine to replenish resources. To the right, there's a jammed door that you can access with Brawny (Trait) or Engineering 7. To progress, go through the door on the other end of the room, past the jammed door. The door opens up to a large room with Protectorate Troops, together with scientists.

Where to Find Lead Researcher Hurley

After the fight, go inside the door with the sign "Lead Researchers Office" above it. Before you reach Dr. Hurley, you can find a Standard IRC Chem Set on the table, which you can use to mix chemicals based on properties with Science 4 or Brilliant (Trait), or haphazardly Mix Chemicals with Dumb (Trait) or Roustabout (Background). You can get an Exultation Lung Sanitizer if you choose to mix chemicals based on properties.

Talk to Lead Researcher Hurley, who will be startled by your presence, especially if you have Tristan Rao with you. Ask her what she's doing, and you'll find out that she is looking for proof related to the recent incident. She will tell you about Alban Vaillancourt, who is in charge of the facility. You can prompt her to talk about the prototype, but she will steer the topic back to helping each other out. She will say that she can't help with the acquisition, but she will offer her knowledge about the facility and the lockdown protocol when the prototype will be taken. She said that she can help you exit the facility later on. You can ask her about the next steps, the kind of evidence that she's looking for, or thank her for the tip about the lockdown.

Where to Find the Rift Anomaly Modulator

Return to the previous area and go up the stairs. As you approach the door to the Rift Containment Laboratory, you will hear Protectorate troops talking to one another. The laboratory is a large space, guarded by multiple enemies. Your objective here is to reach the lift to the Exhibition Tower, but first, you need to get past the security. You can either sneak your way in or defeat the enemies inside this room.

Inside the containment room, you can interact with the mannequins to pick up the Awakened Seer Tutelary and Moon Man Helmet. Before going up, you can also check out the generator room on the western side. The floor has a voltage trap that you can disable with Science Level 11 using the control panel inside the room, or you can bypass this with PALE (Double Jump). You can pair it with any equipment with the Medical Limbo (Mod) to gain the hover effect. At the end of this room, you can get a Volted Sniper Rifle and a Nonconductive Laboratory Garb.

Use the lift to reach the tower, where you can get the device. Before you pick up the item, make sure to check the Vending Machine to replenish on Ammo and other Consumables. You can also use the AutoDoc on the left side of the room. When you're ready, get the Rift Anomaly Modulator from the display. Then, this will prompt the lockdown sequence and change the objective to escape.

Escape the Facility with Hurley's Help

After you take the device, Lead Researcher Hurley will tell you to open the rift using the Rift Anomaly Modulator. Get close enough to the rift where you see the option to open the rift. This will cause parts of the building to fall apart and create platforms for you to jump on and reach the upper level. Security Chief Vaillancourt will speak to you through the intercom, asking you how you managed to get the device. This presents an opportunity for you to strike a deal with him. NOTE: You can give up the information about Dr. Hurley in exchange for your easy exit. He will release the lift for you to use, but you will still get attacked by Protectorate troops. He will let you leave the facility without the need to fight him, and you can also earn bits for striking a deal with him. During our playthrough, we chose to keep quiet about Lead Researcher Hurley's involvement and found a different means to escape.

Since we refused to give up Dr. Hurley's identity, the Protectorate troops will arrive through the lift after the conversation. Defeat the enemies, then go to the opposite side of the room where you see a lit lamp. Pick up the item to get the Maintenance Access Card.  Access the vent on the left side of the elevator using the access card. Use the ladder to go down and follow this crawlspace until you find the exit. You can play a recording from Hurley about On the Nature of Rifts and pick up a  Rift Residue from the table.. Then, open the door to the Main Lab Research. On the right side, you can find a terminal that you can use to find information about [Laboratory Observations] and [Private Messages]. The Private Messages can be accessed with Hack Level 2 and a Bypass Shunt, which reveals messages related to Doctor Sofia Hurley's research.

After using the terminal, open the door across it to return to the Interstitial Hall. Return to the upper level, and this time, open the vent on the right side of the elevator. This will take you to the room where Vaillancourt previously talked to you through the intercom. Defeat the enemies and destroy the turrets on the wall.

Go up the stairs to reach the Control Room. Inside, you can access the IRC Security Console to disable Lockdown Contingencies that will prevent IRC Automech Reinforcements from accessing the Rift Containment Lab. Go to the desk in the corner and examine the item to read about the Security Room Maintenance Log. With the N-Ray Scanner, you can see the panels that you need to disable. However, there's a security cache here that can be accessed by turning on the middle panel. To do this, you need to pull the levers [Left to Right] 2, 4, 2, 5. Then, the cache will be revealed behind the painting, containing a Stun Counter.

After this, you can turn all panels on by pulling 1 and 5. Now, you can disable the Lockdown Contingencies using the IRC Security Console. Return to the previous area by going down the stairs. Then, you can use the Workbench on the far end of the room before you return to the Interstitial Hall.

Use the Elevator to Go to the 2nd Floor

When you're done exploring both areas, you can use the lift to go to the [2] Prestige Observation Suite. The other levels are currently unavailable. Exit the elevator and go to the right side. Watch out for the enemies that will enter through the hallway on the right.

Go to the area across the hallway and pick up the Distraction Devices and Mag-Pick from the table. After that, jump on top of the metal crates to reach the vent above the door. You can defeat enemies while you're peeking through the opening. Drop down the room and pick up the weapon from the bar to get the Reflexed Trench Shotgun. Then, loot the Protectorate Upholder to get Pitchball Card: Brandon Adler. You can also find items and consumables throughout the room.

Walk towards the wall next to the bench, and you can reveal a secret room with Observation. Inside this room, you will find Tribute Unfiltered, Boarstloaf, Neatly-Penned Note, and play a recording of A Sovereign's Hope. There's a sealed safe on the other side of the room that can be opened with the Neatly-Penned Note or Lockpick 7 and a Mag-Pick. The safe contains the Pitchball Card: Chris Parker and a Rift Residue.

Return to the bar and open the door that was previously barred. Then, go through the vent that's next to the red plush seats. This will take you back to the Rift Containment Laboratory. You can use the device on the rift anomaly to reveal the path to the Barracks. This path also saves you from fighting a Dragoon MK III below, but if you were able to disable the IRC Security Console, then you don't have to worry about the Automechs. You can go to the ground floor to go inside the Interstitial Weapons Development room, where you can open the rift to acquire the Armageddon.

Once you enter the Barracks, the room is filled with Scientists and Protectorate troops, and they are easier to fight than the Automech below. You can also use the window on the left side to protect yourself from incoming enemy attacks or sneak past enemies to enter through the vent below the glass window. (The vent will take you to the area outside the Security Chief's quarters).

After the fight, go up the stairs and turn right to find another Rift Anomaly. Jump on top of the cabinet and use it to go to the upper level. This will take you to a crawlspace around the Barracks and access to Vaillancourt's quarters.

Use the terminal to view information about Incident Logs. There's also a prompt that requires Hack 11 and Bypass Shunt that contains evidence about the incident and the attempt on the Sovereign's life. After using the terminal, pick up the card from the desk to acquire the Restricted Wing Access Card. On one side of the room, you can unlock the door with Lockpick Level 11 and Mag-Pick, or Explosives Level 11.

Return to Dr. Hurley on the 1st Floor

Proceed to the next room, and open the door to the right to return to the hallway with the Rift Anomaly. Continue to the end of the hallway and go towards the door with the sign of "Main Hangar" above it. Use the stairs to go to the ground floor. Open the door, then turn right to return to Dr. Hurley. Tell Lead Researcher Hurley that you have the card. If you were able to hack into Vaillancourt's private terminal, you will unlock the dialogue option that says "I have the keycard, and I foudn evidence on Vaillancourt's terminal proving he was behind the accident." She will lead the way to the restricted wing.

When Hurley stops in front of a door, use the Restricted Wing Access Card to open the door. She will instruct you to use the device to open the rift anomaly, in hopes of finding the truth about the incident. Examine the objects and corpses, but more importantly, look for the Protectorate Officer holding the Reassembled Note and x23 Bit Cartridge. The large pieces of metal can also be investigated with Science Level 7 or Observation Level 11. You can pick up a Rift Residue at the back of the room.

Present the note to Dr. Hurley and if you were able to investigate the cause, you can submit your findings to her. While talking to her, you will start planning how to escape the facility. You can work with Lead Researcher Hurley by investigating the cause of the failed experiment. Alternatively, if you gave up Dr. Hurley's identity to Vaillancourt earlier, you have the option to kill her after she takes you to the Restricted Wing so you can leave the facility without fighting Vaillancourt.

While discussing the plan with Dr. Hurley, she will ask you if she can count on you to do the rest while she distracts him. Alternatively, you can reason with her and make her stay by choosing the option that says "You should stay here and let me handle this". This option will unlock a Speech Level 7 Skill check, "If you end up dead, Vaillancourt can tell whatever story he wants about you", that will make her stay.

If you do agree to let her lead, then follow Dr. Hurley behind, but do it in a manner that Security Chief Vaillancourt will not be able to spot you. You can listen to the conversation and allow Hurley to confront him. When he finally spots you, the fight will start. He will be supported by a Cannonade Mech MK III. During the fight, you can open the rift on the left side to reveal a path going to the balcony on the other side. This lets you access the Turrets control, and you can turn it on with Hack Level 4 or Melee Level 4 to change targets to Protectorate troops, aiding you with the fight against Vaillancourt and the automech. After defeating them, you can loot Vaillancourt's body to take the Advanced Decryption Key and a Notice of Disciplinary Review.

Go towards the door where you see a Protectorate Upholder standing. Exit towards the quest marker to return to Praetor. Once you're outside, the quest An Instrument to Unfold Space and Time will be marked as completed. If you were able to convince Lead Researcher Hurley to stay, go back to the Restricted Wing to talk to her again. She will be curious about what happened to Vaillancourt, then she will give you x3 Advanced Decryption Key for helping her.

What Happens if You Kill Lead Researcher Hurley?

When you first talked to Vaillancourt through the intercom, you have the option to give up the identity of Dr. Hurley, as someone who helped you with the thievery. This requires saying that you had help from one of the researchers in the facility, then giving up Dr. Hurley's name. After this, you can choose the dialogue option that says, "I could make that happen. For the right price." This gives you the option to leave the facility without having to fight Security Chief Vaillancourt at the hangar, provided that you do as agreed.

If you decide to eliminate Lead Researcher Hurley, you can get Advanced Decryption Key, Laboratory Garb, and a Trauma Kit from her body. When you go to the hangar to confront Vaillancourt, you can report to him about what happened and choose the option that says "Time to fulfill your end of our bargain." He will give you an Advanced Decryption Key and x2000 Bit Cartridge.

LaPlace's Garden: How to Ask the Order of the Ascendant for Support

Travel to LaPlace's Garden in Cloister, where the Order of the Ascendant's headquarters is located. If you're traveling with Tristan Rao, you will need to convince Obviator Cosgrove to make an exception and let Tristan pass. You will need the Speech 7 skill to do this; otherwise, you may consider changing your party composition.

Once inside, speak to Junior Seer Amaryllis, who is standing in the middle of the hallway. She will tell you where to find Vicar Alden and the Artificer Laureate. Go up the stairs towards the inner area of the garden. Continue towards the large building in front, then use the stairs on the left, leading to the upper hall. Go inside the building where 2 troops are guarding at the entrance, then open the door to the right. Walk towards the NPC standing alone to speak with Artificer Laureate Enola Kraft. Tell her that you received a message that Ruth was indisposed (acquired by talking to Amaryliis at the entrance).

She will instruct you to complete A Study in Disruption, where you need to clear out the Cultists in Newton. Once successful, return to Enola Kraft to unlock the next quest, which is Crash Course in Telemetry. While on this quest, you will be tasked to travel to Paradise Island to recover the data of the recently crashed satellite, before the Protectorate gets their hands on it. When you're done with this, speak to Artificer Laureate Enola Kraft again, and she will be pleased to hear about your success.

This will grant you an audience with the Presiding Bishop. Go to the main hall of the building and go up the stairs. You will be greeted by Vicar Laureate Alden Levin, who can tell you about how they escaped the station (this only happens if you were able to convince Augustine De Vries not to harm the delegates at the Greater Tranquility Station). You will learn that it's possible to have both factions work together, where you can unlock the faction quest, An Equitable ArrangementNOTE: This is optional, but is recommended for players who wish to have a diplomatic approach to the ending, which also requires a high level of Speech (Level 20). This quest can also be unlocked by talking to the representative of Auntie's Choice, Vice President Gertie Hewett, at the ACS Undisputed Claim.

Enter the door behind Alden Levin to prompt a cutscene showing Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar exiting a pod. She'll ask if you know anything about the messages being exchanged between their headquarters and ACS Undisputed Claim. You can tell her that this is a good opportunity to save lives if you have the Negotiator perk. After this, you will make a decision to proceed working with the Order of the Ascendant only, or if you want to approach this diplomatically, and have both factions work together. She'll ask you to deliver the Archive back into the Order, and she will warn you that Auntie's Choice will become hostile towards you, should you agree to work just with them.

IF you accept Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar's offer, you will unlock a quest called, Methods of Applied Force. This quest will require you to secure the Archive in Praetor for the Order of the Ascendant, while she will give you a Spireton Access Override Card, a means to get to the facility discreetly, the Order's support troops, and a way to divert the power and disable the Protectorate's turrets. NOTE: Accepting to work with one faction will fail the quest An Equitable Arrangement, and lock you out of the opposing faction's questlines. You will also be deemed traitorous and earn the "kill on sight" status from the opposing faction at the end of the quest.

How to Get Both Factions to Work Together in The Outer Worlds 2

In the quest A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum, you have the option of convincing both faction leaders to work together to take down the Protectorate's defenses at the Archive. To do this, you will need to complete the Faction Quests of either side, then, once you start talking to either Ruth Basar or Auntie Cleo, tell them that you want both factions to work together.

After this, you will need to complete the 2nd Faction quest, which is the Mysteries the of Mental Modulators. This will allow you to speak with Auntie Cleo herself, giving you the chance to convince her to work with the Order of the Ascendant. Auntie Cleo will bring up a message from Ruth Basar, to which you can reply with, "Whose idea it was is unimportant. Are you willing to speak with her?"

When you initiate this, she will ask you again if you are sure about this collaboration.

Crossing the Bridge to the Archive

Before proceeding to the bridge, you can complete the optional objective of liberating Spireton and securing the Archive as part of the quest An Equitable Arrangement. This area is located to the west of the bridge, and completing this quest will give your allies the access they need to help you with the large number of Protectorate troops guarding the Archive. You can find a full walkthrough of how to complete this quest on this page

Once you arrive in Newton, proceed to the area ahead, then turn right at the first building. Head towards the bridge, then use the Rift Anomaly Modulator to open the rift. Use the reformed bridge to cross to the other side. Approach the nearest building to enter the perimeters of The Archive. Go inside the building to find an elevator. Before you proceed, explore the bar on the left side. You can pick up a Disinfecting Spray and an Exultation Lung Sanitizer from the desk. Then, walk towards the round table on the left side to pick up a Tossball Card: Steven "The Chaos" Moret next to some Pinnacle Pills.

Arriving at The Archive

Use the elevator, then open the door to the 2nd floor of The Archive. Here, you can use the Vending Machine to replenish ammo and Consumables, and use the Workbench for upgrades. You can use the lift on the left side of the path where you see the sign "Central Interface". This will prompt a direct assault against the Protectorate troops stationed here. Alternatively, you can climb the yellow cable to the left of the signage and follow it to the top to find the vent door.

Once inside, you will hear 2 Protectorate troops vomiting inside the cubicle. You can take them out by sneaking behind them, but if you make a noise, the other soldier will hear the commotion. Defeat the enemies, then look for the vent next to the door. Follow this crawlspace until the end until you find a Sprat. Attack it to get Cloister Shivering Sprat Tongue, and pick up some Items like Stun Baton, Plasma Grenade, Jeweled Ring, and Necklace next to it.

Exit through the door, and stay crouched to remain undetected. Go up the ramp, then go inside the room on the right side when the Protectorate Soldier turns around. Once you're inside the room, examine the control panel to access the Protectorate Declaratory Access System. Insert the Mysterious Audio Cartridge (this item is obtained during the quest The Case of the Mystery Rations, which also prompts the task Confessions of a Sub-Finagler). Once the audio starts playing, the Protectorate troops will begin to feel sick, and one of them will approach the turret. Shortly after, the turret will explode, clearing this area of enemies. When the enemies die, the task will be marked as completed.

Go back to the washroom and exit through the vent and crawlspace. Use the lift past the sign that says "Central Interface" to arrive at the area where the turret exploded. Open the large door on the left side of the path to reach the room where you can see a door going to the Underlands; however, this door will be locked for now. Before proceeding, defeat the Protectorate troops here. You can also unjam the door on the left with Brawny (Trait) or Engineering Level 5. This opens the door to a bunker room containing an Advanced Decryption Key, an Incendiary Burst Assault Rifle, and a Shock Rod.

To progress, follow the trace of cables on the right. This will lead to the control panel that will let you restore power to open the door and activate the Spireton lift. First, you need to investigate the monitor next to the lever. This will prompt a task called, The Starving Remainder, which lets you recover the item needed to activate the lift. For a full walkthrough, please head to this page. Alternatively, players can also loot and pickpocket the Spireton Lift Control Components from Auxiliary Dabbler Hoyt Schermerhorn.

After acquiring the quest item, return to the Control Panel and interact with it to slot the missing component. After doing this, you will hear an update from your allies. At this point, you can see the Automechs and Protectorate troops patrolling the bridge. Call in the reinforcements to have them help you take down the enemies by summoning the Spireton lift. After the fight, cross the bridge and head towards the building.

As you approach the door in the middle, you will hear a voice looking for a Calcaduceus. After this, go to the left side of the room where you see a sick Assessor Torbert Ostergard. Ask him if he has the Calcaduceus, and he will acknowledge that he has it. Due to the condition he's in, he will easily give up this item. You can either threaten him to give it to you or ask him what it is. He will gladly give up the Calcaduceus, as long as you guarantee his safe passage. Once the deal is made, you will receive the item, and he will walk out of the building. Behind him, you can enter the washroom to pick up items like Heavy Revolver, Trooper Steel Helmet MK IV, and Trooper Plate Carrier MK III. If you linger in the hallway for a bit longer, you will hear Torbert die due to the Crabble ration he consumed. You can loot his body to get Breath of the Sovereign Silver, Fried Crabble Patties, and a Music Box.

Walk up the stairs and interact with the machine to grant yourself the operator privileges, which now grants you access to UENIAC. Go inside the room to prompt the conversation, and you will find out that the Universal Equation Numeric Integration Analytic Calculator is not functioning to its fullest, due to incomplete reprogramming efforts by different operators. Every now and then, the UENIAC will switch programs and respond with a differing tone. You will learn that you need to address the damages that were caused by the previous operators.

How to Repair UENIAC

Once you offer to help, UENIAC will reveal that it is unlocking the passage to the Underlands, granting you access to Cold Storage and Thermal Transfer, which are key external systems to its functionality. After this, you can ask UENIAC to reveal more information about what the key external systems are for, how the Factions ended up damaging the Archive to this extent, ask why restoring Thermal Transfer is optional, and change all nearby turrets to target Protectorate forces.

At the end of this conversation, you will hear from the [PRIORITY: PROFITALIST] saying that it has unsealed one of the display cases holding the Seer Cerebellum Protector, or the Emanating Enlightened Seer Tutelary. After getting the item, cross the bridge and go back to the room with the door leading to the Cloister Underlands. From the entrance, you can find the nearest objective in the western area, where you need to retrieve the data from cold storage. Although the next objective is optional, we highly recommend completing the next objective in the southern area, where you are tasked to restore the Thermal Transfer systems, to ensure that the Archive will remain functional after initial use.

Retrieve the Data from Cold Storage

Follow the tracks and keep to the right. Once you see the bridge, take a moment to scan your surroundings and watch out for the seemingly non-functional turrets. The turrets will start targeting you once you cross the bridge, and we recommend disabling or destroying them before crossing. To the right, you can go inside the station to access the Bridge Defense Controls. You can modify the connections with Hack 14 or Innovative (Trait).

Once you cross the bridge, follow the path and go through the tunnel. As you exit, you can find a group of soldiers of the Order of the Ascendant inside the building to the right. You can speak to Provost Coulter here to learn about the situation they're facing. When he asks for your help, you can either ask him what he needs or state that you're going to the Cold Storage. If you agree to help him and his troops escape, you can start the quest A Way Back to the Light.

From there, exit the building and head towards the Cold Storage. Take out the Protectorate troops at the bridge, then press forward to reach the door. To the right, you can enter the building to loot Ammo and some Consumables. When you're ready, open the door to the building to hear the instructions from UENIAC. You can find frozen bodies of the forces here, just like what Provost Coulter described.

Proceed towards the monitor and use the Calcaduceus to progress the quest. Shortly after you bring back the power, you will hear someone ask you what you just did. You can find her in the room to the left. Use the intercom to speak with the Curativist Holder, and she wants to know how it works and what it does. We suggest giving her the information she needs, so she will be willing to open the door for you. If you refuse to help her, she will also call on the Protectorate troops to attack you. To convince her, you can use any of the following dialogue choices:

  • [Requires Speech 2] Not a thing. should probably just stick to trying to make this work for you.
  • [Requires Medical 5] A bit. I've studied enough medicine to understand what you're working on.
  • [Requires Brilliant] Not much, more than smart enough to tackle this Challenge.

By passing one of these skill checks, she will allow you to go inside the room. Once inside, you can access the terminal behind her to read information about her logs while she goes out to examine the frozen corpses. Next to the terminal, you can play the recording of Warden Powell's Confession. If you choose to activate the Fire Suppression System, this will cause the Curativist Holder to freeze outside and meet the same fate as her subjects.

Open the door to the back of the room, follow it to the next hallway, and use the elevator at the end. After riding the elevator, the door to the back will open, revealing a small bridge. Defeat the enemy at the bridge, then go inside the next building, where you will fight more Protectorate troops. Use the terminal in the middle of the room to transfer the storage tank suppressant to the Archive. Go up the stairs and use another lift to the Cartridge Extractor Controls

Exit the elevator and open the door across it. Defeat the Protectorate troops in the area and go up the stairs after the fight. Go to the middle of the upper level and interact with the Control Panel to start Data Brick Extraction. Shortly after, Protectorate troops and automechs will swarm the room. Defeat all enemies before proceeding to the next objective.

Drop down the destroyed fence on the edge of the platform, then head towards the Rail Operations Platform on the right. Use the stairs to go up one level, then crouch to find a path below the pipes. Pull the breaker lever to enable power, then exit through the narrow hallway to the left. Go back to the Control Panel and use it to start the conveyor.

After this, turn around and ride the lift to go up. Walk towards the edge of the platform where you see the Data Gateway Station and some Protectorate troops. Defeat all enemies, then jump towards the platform below, then the platform to the left. Head inside the building to the right and interact with the lever to open the conveyor doors. To the left, you can pick up a High Security Lockbox and a container where you can get Chilling Plasma SMG and Insulated Plasmamancer Armor. Open the door on the opposite side to go back to the entrance of the Cold Storage. After this, you can either complete A Way Back to the Light, go back up the to Central Interface in The Archive, or repair the Thermal Transfer systems.

Repair Thermal Transfer Systems

To go to Thermal Transfer, backtrack your way to the bridge with the defense turrets, then continue to the opposite path, or towards the quest marker. Ride the lift to go down, where you will encounter Auntie's Choice soldiers. NOTE: If you are exclusively working with the Order of the Ascendant, then these soldiers will be hostile to you. Aside from the soldiers, you will also encounter Ursopods and Crabble creatures down here. Remain on this path until you reach the door that leads inside Thermal Transfer. Use the Calcaduceus to unseal the doors to the facility.

Defeat the Crabble enemies, then follow the connecting path forward. On the other side, destroy the wall of crabble eggs so you can see the Auxiliary Pump that needs to be activated, but needs to be repaired first. Behind it, you can see the pump that can be repaired with Engineering Level 9 or Auxiliary Pump Readjustment Kit

If you need to find the kit, follow the bloodstains on the ground. Track it to the other side, then destroy the wall of Crabble eggs on the left. You can find this item next to a corpse of a Protectorate trooper, along with other items like Advanced Decryption Key, Trooper Plate Carrier, Explosive Grenade, and Bit Cartridge. Activate the pump and go back to this area to progress further.

Go up the path to the right to find the Release Valve Generator, before you can interact with it, you need to locate the Water Release Valve System Fuse. Turn around to see the broken bridge slightly to the right. You can cross this if you have the double jump gadget, then go towards the small building here. Make sure to defeat the remaining Crabbles that are present in the area.

Once inside the building, you can find the fuse in the left corner, on a bench. Return to the generator and insert the Water Release Valve System Fuse, then pull the lever next to it to open the Water Release Valve. After this, follow the path on the right side, but watch out for the Crabbles that have burrowed themselves.

Continue on the path ahead and follow the cables to find the terminal. Choose [Adjust Power Settings], and then [Restore Power] to fully repair the Thermal Transfer systems. Shortly after, you will hear an update from UENIAC, telling you that you can return to the Archive Central Interface, where it can give you further instructions.

Return to The Archive: Central Interface

Go back to UENIAC's room to progress the quest. At the door, you will be greeted by a representative of your ally/allies. In our playthrough, Junior Seer Amaryllis is standing at the door. (This changes depending on who you choose to hand over the Archive to. If you chose Auntie's Choice, Ursula Ormsby will be here instead. The representatives will inform you about the hidden cache with useful items in the Punch Processing and Reactor Control. You can convince her to tell you more about this if you have Speech Level 9.

Go inside UENIAC's room behind her. It will unlock the upper levels in The Archive to restore the Reactor Control and the Punch Card Processing. After this, [Priority: Actuational] will unlock the next display case, which holds the Tremor Cleaver. Before proceeding to the next objective, we recommend upgrading your Equipment and restocking on Ammo and Consumables.

Re-enable Punch Processing Walkthrough

Head down the stairs and open the use the lift on the left side of the Archive Support Wings. Walk towards the center of the room, where you can hear Protectorate Opposers talking to themselves. Use the terminal in the middle of the room to read information about [Upper Wing Subsystem Status], [Concealed Operation Panels Command Menu], and [Logs].  If you were able to convince your ally to reveal information about the hidden cache, select [Concealed Operation Panels Command Menu], then [Enumerative Exultation] to unseal them. You can use the AutoDoc opposite the terminal, the Vending Machine to the right, and the Workbench to the left.

Open the door to the right, and follow the path towards the building. Defeat the Mantipillar on the path, then continue to the outer path to enter the facility. Defeat the Mantipillar on the ramp, then go up to the upper level. Defeat the Mantisaur Drone, then walk towards the switch in the middle of the path. Pull the lever to restart the Punch Processing Rail system.

Head down the ramp, then go to the next room. Watch out for the moving metal that passes through the hallways. Go inside the room on the right side and pull the lever to unjam the door. After this, look for a datapad on the right to read about the Maintenance Report. Go inside the newly-opened room and open the container to get an Advanced Decryption Key and x727 Bit Cartridge.

Go inside the room on the opposite side, then pull the lever to enable the Vertical Punch Card Rail. You can also get a Mag-Pick and Scrap Metal from the desk. At the back, you can open a container to get Trauma Kit and x771 Bit Cartridge (Requires Treasure Hunter).

Head back to the middle of the room and wait for the metal sheet to pass, and jump on top of it. Go to the lowest level and defeat the creatures here. You can interact with the switch here to reverse the Vertical Rail Direction if you have Hack Level 5, or Innovative (Trait) and 5 Foil. Otherwise, you have to climb on top of the surfaces to reach the moving platforms above. Once you get on top of it, ride it to the end, then jump towards the next platform and enter the room on the right side. Pull the lever to reverse the direction of the Horizontal Rail. If you made it here, you can go to the balcony area on the right side to pick up a Shock Rifle and Spauldered Uniform MK III.

Return to the platform, and this time, go to the opposite side of the room. Climb onto the yellow cloth and go inside the room to pull the lever that will reverse the Horizontal Rail Direction. After this, go to the next room and stay close to the metal sheet so it protects you from the trap. Walk towards the end of the path, then defeat the Mantisaur enemies here.

Go to the middle of the room and pull the lever to restore the Rift Punch Card program. To the right, you can open the display case to get Reflective Amplification Plating. To leave this area, use the elevator on the right side of the case, which will take you back to the Upper Wing.

Repair the Plasma Reactor Walkthrough

From the Upper Wing of The Archive, open the door to the left of the Control Room. Exit this room through the door on the left side and follow the path towards the Plasma Reactor building. Defeat the Protectorate troops in this area and head towards the left side of the room.

Follow the ramp going down, then open the door at the lowest level to reach the reactor's control room. The first thing you need to do here is to access the terminal on the upper level to [Initiate Diagnostic Survey] and read the [Message Logs]. By accessing the terminal, you will learn about the needed manual maintenance, but the room is guarded by Protectorate forces, and an Autonomous Bulwark. Aside from this, you will also learn about the safety systems that you can restore using the Archive Reactor Fuses. There are 5 Reactor Safety features, but only 3 fuses are readily available inside the room.

The 5 Reactor Safety Features include: (1) Ammunitions Cache Access, (2) First Aid Cache Access, (3) Reactor Security Turrets Activation, (4) Reactor Reinforcement Access, and (5) Reactor Fire Suppression Activation. Each of these allows you to control the battle that you're about to face. After deciding, your next step is to find the fuses throughout the room, then insert them into the Control Panels.

  • You can find the first one inserted into the Reactor Security Turrets.
  • The second one is inside the red small room to the left.
  • The third one is next to the terminal at the top of the room.
  • You can assemble the fourth one located on the workbench in the middle of the room if you have Science Level 9 or Lucky (Trait).

After deciding which safety features you want to enable, use the lift on the left side of the room to proceed to the next area. You can find a display case here, but you can't open it until after you repair the reactor. Go to the room on the right and pull the lever to activate the platform (you can only do this if you have restored the Punch Processing). Ride the moving platform towards the end, then jump on the right side. Open the container to get Tossball Card: Marina Bekeshko and x749 Bit Cartridge.

Return to the other side of the room to make your preparations. Here, you can use the Workbench, AutoDoc, and Vending Machine. When you're ready, open the door in the middle of the room to start the fight.

Once you open the door, you'll see Everyone's Neighbor, The Autonomous Bulwark patrolling the area. Depending on the safety features that you repaired, this fight can be manageable if you disable the turrets, reinforcements, and fire suppression. You can get x760 Bit Cartridge and Joint Actuator from the Bulwark after.

Pull the lever in the middle of the room to repair the Plasma Reactor. If you opt to gain access to the cache, you can go to the rooms on the balcony level. The First Aid Cache contains an AutoDoc and Consumables like Exultation Lung Sanitizer. The opposite side contains the Ammo Cache containing Frost Grenade, Ammo, Small Plasma Charge, and Shock Assault Rifle.

After exploring, go back to the previous room to open the display case and acquire the Focus Grip. Then, exit this area by riding the lift to go back up to the control room, then trace your steps back to the Archive Upper Wing room.

Return to Archive Central Interface and Repair UENIAC

After repairing both Punch Processing and Plasma Reactor, use the elevator again to return to the Central Interface. Enter UENIAC's room to speak to it. Presently, there are 3 sets of Priority within the Archive, and your decision here will affect your relationships with your allies, including the outcome of the quest. To progress, choose the option that says "I know which priority set to keep. Let's go remove the others." This will prompt UENIAC to open the Access Nook at the back of the Central Interface. Here, you have to pull 2 sets of nodes (a total of 6) to set a Single Priority.

  • Blue Node refers to the Actuational Priority, which is the original setting made by the Order of the Ascendant.
  • Red Node refers to the Sovereignist Priority, which is the setting made by the Protectorate.
  • Yellow Node refers to the Profitalist Priority, which is the setting made by Auntie's Choice.

After deciding which node you want to keep, pull the fuse from the right side of the switchboard to restart the Archive. In our playthrough, we kept the blue node since we opted to side with the Order of the Ascendant. Head back up the stairs and return to the main monitor and speak to UENIAC once again. Ask it to analyze the rift data to progress the quest. Afterward, it will tell you that it has unlocked the remaining display cases in the Central Interface. At the end of this conversation, the quest, A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum will now be marked as completed.

Head outside to speak to your allies and hand over the Calcaduceus. This depends on whether you requested help from any of the Factions. You will either give it to Seer Amaryllis of the Order or Ursula Ormsby of Auntie's Choice. This lets you progress the related quests, which can be one of the three: An Equitable Arrangement (both Factions), Methods of Applied Force (Order of the Ascendant), or Recall Order for the Trifurcated Brain (Auntie's Choice). If you choose to work with one faction, you will earn the "Kill on Sight" status in the opposing faction, which is a permanent status that cannot be undone.

Go to the left side of the room and pick up the item to get the Prescience from the Mannequin.

Return to The Incognito

After processing the rift data, fast travel to your ship to plan the next steps with your crew. Speak with VALERIE in the cockpit to learn about the appearance of Reconstituted Horizon Point. VAL will confirm that the Protectorate's large-scale rift modulator reconstituted the rift, which rebuilt the station. After this, it will recommend completing Quests in other locations, since traveling to the station will disable any space travel. This is a good time to check on other Companions and complete their related quests, if available. You can also consider completing Faction Quests from your allies if you teamed up with Order of the Ascendant or Auntie's choice in the previous quest.

When you're ready, interact with the cockpit of The Incognito, then choose Reconstituted Horizon Point to progress the quest. You will see a message warning you of the point of no return. Once confirmed, you will travel to the outskirts of the station. If you let Augustine De Vries escape in Fiends in High Places, you will learn from VALERIE that she's in the station as well.

Investigate the Disturbance at Horizon Point

Your very first objective upon arrival is to investigate the disturbance at the station. Walk towards the path ahead, and you'll see The Sovereign's ship, which turns out to be responsible for the reconstitution of the station. Keep exploring to get inside the station, where you'll encounter reconstituted troops and drones. After crossing the reformed bridge, you can enter the building on the right, where you can use a Workbench.

Continue forward and walk under the reformed tunnel. As you get past this tunnel, a ray of green light will shoot in front, reconstituting more parts of the station. Turn left at the end of the path, where you can find a Rift Anomaly. Use the modulator and use the newly-formed bridge to reach an upper area with a good vantage. Follow this path and turn left where you see an opening into the building.

Jump down to the gap on the left side of the hallway and use the modulator to reveal a path going to the upper level. Get past the fire by activating the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus, and continue to the broken bridge outside. Defeat the reconstituted troops, then proceed to the ship on the left side. Inside the ship, you can open the room to the right with Lockpick 7 and a Mag-Pick to pick up The Matriarch's Warning. On the left side of the room, you can examine an Earth Directorate Satellite with the Scrapper (Perk) if you have it.

After going to the ship, go up the ramp on the right side to progress. Defeat the reconstituted troops and automechs in this section and walk towards the left side. Once you reach the end, cross the metal plate going to the right to reveal the next area. Head towards the gate and continue inside the facility. Defeat the reconstituted troops in this area, but beware of shooting any soldiers from the Order of the Ascendant. Accidentally shooting your allies will cause you to lose reputation with them, and can also cause Marisol to leave your party permanently.

To progress, follow the path to the left, towards the quest marker. Turn left to find the door and go to the end of this hallway. Open the door and enter the facility to hear Helen Pascal. Continue inside the building to find Augustine De Vries with her (De Vries will only appear here if you spared her in Fiends in High Places).

Helen was brought back by the rift modulator, although confused and unstable. However, she will still recognize the commander. While talking to her, she will bring up the last mission, and you can tell her whether Augustine De Vries sabotaged it, hide the truth from Helen, or remind her about the rift. When you bring this up, she will ask you to "fix" the situation she's in. Ultimately, Augustine De Vries will offer to stay with her while waiting.

Exit through the door behind Augustine and proceed to the next area. On the left side of the path, you can find a Workbench and the ship of your allies. You can get Emanating Enlightened Seer Tutelary, Scent of Serendipity Mega, and Charged Leaded Sniper Suit from the table. You can also request a heal from the Order Field Medic.

Return to the previous path and continue towards the hallway to progress. When you reach a dead end, open the rift to reveal the path to the Sovereign's ship. Defeat the reconstituted troops, then go towards the next Rift Anomaly. Use the device again to reveal the path, then climb upwards to get closer to the ship. Enter the Bridge Control room and pull the lever to lower the bridge. Before crossing, we recommend taking down the troops and automechs.

Cross the bridge and find the entrance to the building on the left side. Follow this narrow hallway until you reach the center, where an unstable rift is blocking your way. This rift constantly explodes and will kill you instantly if you don't find a way to disable it. Go to the left side and pick up the Field Note recording on the table, and take note of the terminal next to it.

From the terminal, look behind you and scan the rubble to find the ramp. Use it to go to the upper level and go towards the chalkboard. Examine the datapad next to it to acquire the information about the equation. Go to the next chalkboard and examine it. You can solve it if you have Science Level 18 or Professor (Background). Alternatively, if you have Aza and Marisol with you, you can ask them to work out what's missing to complete the equation. This allows you to skip the part where you have to enter the Sovereign's quarters and get the equation by examining the chalkboard.

Open the door across this chalkboard to continue inside the facility. To the left, you can open the door to enter the small room to get some items and the ladder to the vents. To progress the quest, go down the stairs and open the next door. Proceed to the hallway and defeat the reconstituted troops. To the right, you can unlock the door with Lockpick 18 and a Mag-Pick or Explosives Level 18, which leads to the Sovereign's quarters. To the left, you can enter the storage room where you can find an AutoDoc and pick up items like Numbing Agent 7. You can also unlock a Fridge if you have Lockpick 13 and a Mag-Pick to get Breath of the Sovereign Platinum, Iridescent Frostfern, and Architect's Verglas.

Return to the hallway and walk towards the end of the path. Open the door to enter the small room, and look above the shelf to find the vent. Follow the path to the left to open the door to access the Sovereign's Private quarters. Use the terminal and read all the entries about messages and personal journal. Behind the terminal, you can pick up a Pitchball Card: Dexter Blackwell from the display shelf.

You can unlock the shelf next to the chalkboard with Lockpick 18, which contains a weapon and a note. Finally, examine the chalkboard to solve the equation. Return to the previous area and take the stairs going to the lower level. You can use the Vending Machine right next to the door. Open the door for a shortcut back to the terminal. Initiate the process to stabilize the Rift Anomaly. After that, you can now use the modulator to open it. Follow the newly-formed path into the next area.

On the left side of the path, you can activate the rift anomaly to distract the enemies. Alternatively, you can just defeat the Protectorate troops and automech in this section. Head towards the ship in the distance and pull the lever on the right to infiltrate the Sovereign's ship. This will play a cutscene showing the ship flying towards Providence.

Inside the Providence

Upon arriving, the place is mostly empty and access to various areas are limited. Follow the path ahead and keep to the right until you reach a narrow hallway where you can use an AutoDoc. Across the AutoDoc, you can find a short path and stairs going to the upper level. Use the terminal to unseal the hangar doors and read the messages. After this, the Protectorate will be notified of your presence.

Return to the previous area and defeat the Protectorate troops and automechs that will try to stop you. Head towards the facility by opening the door on the left side. Defeat the enemies inside this area, then, after the fight, you can interact with the Tin Can, the Proficient Purveyor of Provisions. Proceed to the other end of the hallway where you see the sign, Lift Transport.

Open the door at the end to find a room with traps and enemies. Defeat the enemies first, and go to the side path on the left. This takes you behind the trap and gives clear access to the stairs. Go up the stairs and continue following the hallway where you see the traps. You can walk above the rail and jump as the trap moves towards you. At the top, you will reach the next room with a Protectorate Dragoon MK IV guarding. You can use the AutoDoc in the same area after the fight.

Proceed to the hallway behind it, where you can see multiple doors. The one on the right of the path can be unlocked with Lockpick 18 and a Mag-Pick. The one at the end will lead to an NPC called Scientist Clarence Krug. If you have the Speech level 7, you can convince him to let you inside the facility without having to fight Protectorate troops, as well as obtain the Science Deck Access Credentials. Open the door past him, and go towards the middle, where you can talk to Chief Scientist Jude Monserrate. If you were able to acquire the info about the IRC's data in rifts, you can use it to ask him about it. This will make him friendly towards you and share the report that he needs to make. At this point, you have the option to tell him that you can bring it to the Consul to make him listen. With this, you will receive the Chief Scientist Monserrate's Keycard. Alternatively, you can loot this item from him if you were unable to convince Clarence Krug to let you pass.

Use the terminal next to him to progress the quest. Then, keep playing the analysis until the end to obtain the Rift Modulator Schematics and Report. From there, return to the previous hallway where you met Clarence. Head towards the quest marker by going back to the facility, then use the lift to reach the Command Deck.

Confront Consul Emory Thoreau

As you exit towards the hallway, Augustine De Vries will greet you here. She'll ask about the situation, and you can tell her that it can only be operated by having control of the ship. She will ask you about other things, and you can tell her about focusing on the task at hand and the rifts that have been detected in space. Before proceeding to the next door, you can go inside the room to the left to access the Vending Machine, Workbench, and an AutoDoc. In the corner, you can use the terminal to open the Ventilation Door (requires Hack 20) and check important updates.

The vent leads to a crawlspace with access to the Turret Power Panel, which lets you sabotage the Turrets. The path is blocked with a Zyranium leak, and you can fix this through the wheel device if you have Engineering 20 or Innovative (Trait). Alternatively, you can explore the area above the control switch to access the crawlspace. Follow it to the end to find the Power Panel.

Return to the previous room. Go to the opposite room to get inside Thoreau's personal quarters. Examine the papers on his desk to read about the Unsent Letter and then pick up the recording of the Meeting Audio Log of Emory Thoreau.

After this, proceed to the door to confront Consul Emory Thoreau. He will be protected by his sentinels, and at this point, you have the chance to convince him to stand down. Otherwise, you will have to fight him. Emory Thoreau has a large health pool, and he will be backed up by numerous Protectorate troops and turrets (if you were unable to disable them prior to the fight). After the fight, you will be faced with the difficult decision of who will save Arcadia.

Use the wheel in the middle of the room to learn that the rift will soon destabilize, and the only way to stop it is to fly the ship inside. At this point, you will have your Companions, whose questlines you have completed, join you at the ship. Augustine De Vries will also be present if she survived in Fiends in High Places, and she will offer to fly the ship, to atone for her mistakes. Depending on your choice, this will impact the ending that you will get, altering the future of Arcadia. HOWEVER, if you choose not to sacrifice anyone, this will doom all of Arcadia, causing it to perish. You may check the Endings Guide for the list of slides, requirements, and conditions.

How to Convince Emory Thoreau to Surrender

To convince him to surrender, you will need to obtain The Matriarch's Warning, access Emory Thoreau's private terminal, make specific dialogue choices and have Speech Level 20. After he brings up the Grand Architect, this is when you will start making your arguments, using your gathered information and evidences. At the end of this, Consul Emory Thoreau will offer to sacrifice himself, giving everyone a time to vacate the ship, and he will fly it into the rift himself. If Augustine De Vries is present, she will offer to go with him. You can either agree to let her go or forbid her from going. You may see this page for the full dialogue choices.
