The Outer Worlds 2 Helmets Guide
Head Armor in The Outer Worlds 2 offers specialized protection and powerful bonuses that complement the player’s overall build. While Body Armor focuses on raw defense and resistance, helmets and masks emphasize precision, survivability, and hazard resistance
Each helmet grants a set of permanent bonuses that affect combat efficiency. These include improvements to Critical Chance, Magazine Size, Weakspot Damage, Energy Recharge Rate, Toxicity Drain Rate, and Base Health.
Some headgear also comes with built-in Mods, which provide special traits or unique passive effects. These bonuses do not change with rarity and remain consistent across their armor line.
Head Gear not only protect your head but also give special bonuses that match your playstyle. Some, like the Gas Mask or Drone Helmet, help resist toxins and keep you safe in dangerous environments. They make it easier to recover from poison and reduce exposure to harmful elements. A few even come with built-in mods, such as Zyranium Filters, which slow down how fast you get poisoned, perfect for exploring contaminated areas or industrial zones.
Other Helmets, like the Ritual Mask and Tactical Rebreather, are made for energy-based builds. They help your shields or energy abilities recover faster, keeping your attacks and defenses consistent during long fights.
If you prefer raw defense, heavier helmets such as the Juggernaut Helmet or Fatcat Helmet focus on improving health and toughness. They’re ideal for players who stay close to enemies and take a lot of hits, giving more durability and endurance in combat.
Most Head Gear can be found across vendors or looted from fallen enemies in regions such as Paradise Island and Westport
There are also special helmets that come with unique built-in mods. Some can increase your protection depending on how many bits you’re carrying, while others boost your damage when you stand still before attacking. These unique effects give more room to experiment, letting players create custom builds that fit their personal style.
The Outer Worlds 2 Helmet Mods
Helmet Mods are specialized upgrades that provide passive enhancements to the player’s protection and performance. While Body Armor often allows for several mod slots, helmets are typically fitted with a single, focused modification, emphasizing utility and adaptability over layered defenses. These Mods allow players to tailor their headgear for specific conditions, whether facing environmental hazards, engaging in stealth operations, or maximizing energy efficiency.
Most standard helmets come unmodded by default, leaving their slot open for player customization. Unique Helmets, however, may feature pre-installed Mods that are permanently attached
