Gamescom 2025 Tistan Companion Trailer Reveal Details

Tristan is a lawful powerhouse from The Protectorate faction, who acts as a judge, jury, and executioner at the same time. Tristan is going to be a tanky, melee-heavy companion, which is perfect for players who want a frontliner that can absorb and deal damage all at once. Tristan will be the one who provides order and your justice companion, and depending on your decisions and choices, he could be with your side as long as your goals align with his or he could be against you when your choices does not align with his goals.

Like all the other Companions in The Outer Worlds 2, Tristan will have his own distinct backstory, role in combat, and his own moral motivations. During your battles with enemies or when you are negotiating peace, Tristan will react to your choices and might leave your crew or party if your choices clashes with his beliefs. You must understand what drives Tristan and outfit him properly, which can make a big difference when it comes to getting a loyal ally or a companion that will leave you behind.

When it comes to Tristan's role and abilities, he is going to be the main tank companion in the game. You would want to use him in your party, as Tristan can complement other companions that have a high survivability rate. Inez would be a perfect match for Tristan, as Inez offers healing and is a combat medic, which will then provide you with a balanced party, but keep in mind their conflicting goals and choices.

Based on the Trailer provided during the Gamescom 2025, it was confirmed that Tristan will be a part of The Protectorate faction, and will also have his own unique Pros and Cons. Tristan will be having Pros: Blunt (like his hammer) and Cons: Holier-Than-Thou Attitude. And also, it shows in the trailer that Tristan is going to maximize his melee combat abilities, as well as his tanking capabilities, which will make him very effective and efficient during long battles.
