Corruption in Saros is one of the hazards that players will need to navigate around if they hope to survive the nightmarish realm of Carcosa. As players eventually discover the Eclipse sections of various maps, they'll notice enemies targeting them with yellow projectiles in addition to blue ones. Getting hit with these projectiles builds Corruption on Arjun, which reduces his maximum hp and lowers his survivability rate. This guide will discuss different ways you can remove Corruption in Saros, as well as times when you can use it to your advantage.

Saros: All Bosses & How to Beat Them

Saros has more bosses than Returnal, and here is how you can beat them.

How to Cleanse Corruption in Saros

Corruption Cleansing Saros

While you're exploring one of the Eclipsed sections of Carcosa, you'll notice that enemies won't just get aggressive, but start shooting Arjun with yellow projectiles. These are Corruption projectiles that will slowly build up and reduce Arjun's maximum health bar. This will continue to increase in length the more you're hit with these pesky projectiles.

There are a few ways you can gradually remove Corruption from Arjun's health bar in Saros.

'Power Weapons' Remove Corruption

Using Power Weapons Saros

Power Weapons are Arjun's ultimate ability that allows him to inflict heavy damage or powerful status effects on enemies, as well as remove built-up Corruption. As soon as you use a Power Weapon by pressing L2 (fully) + R2, you'll utilize your Power meter to damage enemies. Every shot by Power Weapon removes a small chunk of Corruption in Saros that was taking up Arjun's maximum health bar.

You can charge up your power weapons quickly by simply blocking blue projectiles via Shield and absorbing them. Similar can be done with yellow (Corruption) projectiles as well, after unlocking Shield Amplifier ability from the Armor Matrix.

'Parry' Nova Particles to Cleanse Corruption

Parry is another ability that you'll unlock through natural progression while exploring the fourth biome: Blighted Marsh in Saros. Parry lets you deal with those pesky Nova (red) projectiles that can't be dashed through or blocked by the shield. Parrying Nova particles not only deals stagger damage to enemies, but also removes a portion of Corruption from Arjun.

Corrupted Weapons Saros

Corruption isn't just a hazard in Saros, but can also be turned around and made Arjun's biggest strength. Players will gradually begin to see Corrupted weapons drop in the later biomes, which scale up their damage based on how much Corruption you have built up. If you've mastered dodging enemy attacks, this mechanic can let you adapt to a more "glass cannon" playstyle, which presents both higher risk and reward.
