Needle Upgrade Progression in Hollow Knight Silksong

  • Plinney offers the first Needle upgrade for free the moment you meet him. It’s a small but valuable boost to your attack power, and while the increase may seem minor, every bit of extra damage makes a difference in combat.
  • For the second upgrade, return to Plinney after receiving the first enhancement. This time, he will mention needing a rare Oil to refine your weapon further. Accepting his request begins a new questline — though you won’t be able to complete it until you’ve advanced a little further into the game.
  • For the third and fourth upgrades, you must again return to Plinney after gathering more Pale Oil where he will refine your needle even further. Note that the fourth upgrade cannot be obtained until Act 3 of the game.

      Shouldn't they mention that Team Cherry uses a hidden defense and damage-taken multiplier system for enemies and bosses that shifts depending on your needle level.

        Currently in act 3 and finally got the final needle upgrade...it dosent really matter when enemies get voud affected cause it significantly increases their health ;-;

          What are these values based on?

          It took 5 hits to kill something at lvl 0, it took 4 hits to kill the same enemy at lvl 1.

          Assuming each upgrade increases damage by 4, this would require lvl 0 damage to be at least 7.

          It certainly didn't feel like an 80% increase in damage.
