Spool Fragment is an Upgrade Material in Hollow Knight Silksong. Spool Fragment has to be found in pairs, to upgrade the total amount of Silk that Hornet can generate and hold within her shell. Upgrade Materials for Hollow Knight Silksong is a type of item used to enhance and upgrade Hornet's Stats and Equipment. There are a total of 18 Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight Silksong.
How to Get Spool Fragment Upgrade Item in Hollow Knight Silksong
- Location: Deep Docks [Silksong Map]
- Move to the right side of the screen, jumping from platform to platform. As you reach the final platform, activate the switch; this will change the height of the platforms. Now jump from platform to platform, but this time to the left side of the screen, and you will reach the item.
- Location: Mosshome [Silksong Map]
- From the elevator that connects Bone Bottom, head all the way to the right, jumping from platform to platform. At the end, face the enemy, climb the platforms, and you will find a small room with several Rosaries. Beware of the traps, trigger them and leave to remain unharmed. There is a secret wall on the left; attack it a few times to destroy it, revealing a pathway leading to the item.
- Location: Deep Docks [Silksong Map]
- Can be found in the lower left section of Deep Docks. This area requires you to find a path that you can reach by going around the left side and end up in the top right area. It also requires the player to have the Clawline ability to reach this spot.
- Location: Greymoor [Silksong Map]
- Found in a hidden area northwest of Crawlake. This area is accessible by navigating the upper level platforms outside Halfway Home. Requires Cling Grip to reach the area.
- Location: Bellhart [Silksong Map]
- You can buy Spool Fragment from Frey for 270 Rosaries. You need to complete "My Missing Courier" wish for the item to be added to Frey's shop.
- Location: Blasted Steps [Silksong Map]
- You can purchase one from Grindle for 680 Rosaries. Requires Faydown Cloak to reach the high walls, and Cling Grip to wall climb.
- Location: Weavenest Atla [Silksong Map]
- Can be found in a vertical path; you will need the Faydown Cloak and Cling Grip to reach this area.
- Location: Grand Gate, Entrance [Silksong Map]
- Find a total of 14 Lost Fleas and speak to Fleamaster Mooshka at the Flea Caravan. They will only move to the Grand Gate after completing Act 1.
- Location: Top of Grand Gate [Silksong Map]
- Reach the top of the platforming puzzle in the room below to find it. Remember, you can reposition the platforms by hitting them from underneath.
- You will need intermediate level traversal Ancestral Arts such as Clawline, Faydown Cloak, Cling Grip and Swift Step to reach this area easily.
- Location: Underworks (1) [Silksong Map]
- You will have to pass a challenging battle area with four waves of enemies, and once all are defeated, the door unlocks and you will be able to grab the item.
- Location: Underworks (2) [Silksong Map]
- Can be found in the far left alcove. Glide down to avoid the spikes to reach a safe area. Head to the left and break the wall to reveal a passage. There you will find the item.
- You will need intermediate level traversal Ancestral Arts such as Faydown Cloak and Cling Grip to climb back upward from this area easily.
- Location: The Slab [Silksong Map]
- Requires finding the Key of Indolent and the Key of Heretic to reach the bottom section in The Slab. From there, traverse the section with cages hanging from the ceiling and watch out for a hidden area. Requires Cling Grip and Faydown Cloak to easily wall climb.
- Location: Whiteward (1) [Silksong Map]
- This Spool Fragment can be found at the bottom of the lift's shaftway. You'll need to head to the top floor, trigger the lift to go down, and swiftly move underneath it.
- Location: Whiteward (2) [Silksong Map]
- Complete the Wish quest "Balm for the Wounded" to acquire the item as a reward.
- Location: Songclave [Silksong Map]
- This spool fragment can be purchased from Jubilana for 500 Rosaries upon completing the Wish quest, "The Lost Merchant".
- Location Cogwork Core [Silksong Map]
- Entering the locked gate with activating the lever, head west and you will pass through the Cogwork Defender, which you can kill or just skip ahead. Then on the vertical platform, jump down and go east on the secret room. You will see it at the edge of the narrow tunnel.
- Location: Memorium [Silksong Map]
- You will need intermediate traversal Ancestral Arts for this location, such as Faydown Cloak, Clawline, Swift Step, and Cling Grip.
- Found in the same location where you will encounter a Huge Mossgrub bug.
- Location: High Halls [Silksong Map]
- Requires the player to have the Faydown Cloak and Cling Grip Ancestral Arts to reach this spot.
- It is at the very top of the west vertical path in High Halls where you will encounter the Minster bug monster.

- Once x2 Spool Fragment are obtained, Hornet's Maximum Silk will increase.
