Simple Key
Rusted key of common design. Can be used to open a range of simple locks. Degraded by time, it will break after a single use.

Simple Key is a Key Item in Hollow Knight Silksong. Key Items can be used to unlock doors, reveal new locations, open chests, or gain access to new mechanics. They often unlock new features or help progress the main story of the game.

How to Get Simple Key Item in Hollow Knight Silksong

• Location: Bone Bottom [Silksong Map]
• Can be purchased from Pebb for 500 Rosaries
• You can use this on the Simple Key Door on Deep Docks since it's nearby it.
• Alternatively, if you have already unlocked the Simple Key Door on Deep Docks using another key, you can use this on the other Simple Key Doors.

• Location: Sinner's Road [Silksong Map]
• Can be obtained upon defeating the Roachkeeper.
• Can unlock the Simple Key Door to free the Green Prince from its cage. This is a prerequisite so you can access the Entrance to the Lost Verdania in Act 3.
• Alternatively, if you have already unlocked the Simple Key Door on the Green Prince's cage using another Simple Key, you can use this on the other Simple Key Doors.

• Location: Sands of Karak [Silksong Map]
• Can be found on a pilgrim corpse the rightmost bench. 
• It can unlock the Simple Key Door in Wormways.
• Alternatively, if you have already unlocked the Simple Key Door in Wormways, you can use this on the other Simple Key Doors.

• Location: Choral Chambers (Songclave) [Silksong Map]
• Complete the Wish, The Wandering Merchant. After saving Jubilana, you can purchase a Simple Key for 650 Rosaries.
• It can unlock the Rosary Storage on The Forum in High Halls, and contains the Rosary Cannon (Tool).
• Alternatively, if you have already unlocked the Simple Key Door of the Rosary Storage, you can use this on the other Simple Key Doors.

Where to Use Simple Key Item in Hollow Knight Silksong

• Location: Wormways
• From the top of the lift above Moss Grotto, hop across to the west using the hanging cages to the ledge. Head to the next section and continue ahead to the next section to the west. Hop across to the locked door ahead and use the Simple Key here.

• Location: Deep Docks
• From the Deep Docks Bellway, make your way up and out east to the next section. Continue east and head into the next section, flip the switches on the ground to go lower. Continue down and go past the bench to find another switch on the ground. Flip it and continue down, continue east, and jump to the next ledge to find the locked door to use the Simple Key on.

• Location: Sinner's Road
• From the connecting link from Greymoor to Sinner's Road, continue east and take out the enemies here. Hit the switch to open the door on the ground and drop down. Continue towards the west of this area and continue down while avoiding the spikes to find the Green Prince. Use the Simple Key on the door to free him.

• Location: High Halls
• After buying the Simple Key, go back to the bench on The Forum in High Halls where the Rosary Storage door is to open it. Accessing the door, you will find the Rosary Cannon (Tool) inside it.

Simple Key Notes & Tips in Hollow Knight Silksong

• There are a total 4 Simple Keys throughout the game. 2 can be bought through NPCs, the other 2 can be found around Pharloom.
• Each Simple Key can be used to unlock the objective that is nearby it as an optimal path. Though alternatively, you can also use it on other Simple Key Doors if you have previously unlocked it with another Simple Key.
