Briars of Sin is a Sorcery in Elden Ring. Briars of Sin wounds the caster to produce bloodthorns surrounding them. Updated to Patch 1.13.2.
An aberrant sorcery discovered by exiled criminals. 'Theirs are the sorceries most reviled by the academy.
Wounds the caster with thorns of sin, creating a spiral of bloodthorns.
This sorcery can be cast repeatedly, up to three times.
The guilty, their eyes gouged by thorns, lived in eternal darkness. There, they discovered the blood star.
Briars of Sin Location in Elden Ring
Where to find Briars of Sin:
- Liurnia of the Lakes: Dropped by a single Thorn Sorcerer directly north-west from the "Artist's Shack" Grace. Cross the natural stone bridge, there will be a group of Burning Slugs close to the sorcerer. The sorcerer is located just south of the encampment.

- Stamina Cost: 26 per input.
- Conjures a whorl of bloodthorns surrounding the caster, additional 2 inputs further increase the thorns.
- Deals (Sorcery Scaling x 2.00) Magic Damage and 7 Stance damage in a 2.5 meter radius.
- Deals (Sorcery Scaling x 2.32) Magic Damage and 7.5 Stance damage in a 3.5 meter radius.
- Deals (Sorcery Scaling x 2.33) Magic Damage and 8 Stance damage in a 4.5 meter radius.
- Inflicts
95 Hemorrhage buildup per hit.
- Bleed buildup is slightly increased by Staves with Arcane scaling, such as the Albinauric Staff or the Maternal Staff (

NOTE: Patch 1.07: FP cost was reduced (9 > 6) and the spell is also faster to cast while also now inflicting more bleed buildup (90 > 95).
