Hollow Knight Silksong Raging Conchfly Boss Guide

Raging Conchfly HK Silksong Fight Strategy

The Raging Conchfly is part of the same species as the Great Conchflies but is far stronger and more aggressive. It moves much faster than its counterparts and adds an extra attack to its set, making it a tougher fight overall. Like before, steam cues are your most reliable warning signs, so keeping your eyes on them is the key to predicting its movements and surviving the constant pressure.

One of its primary moves is the Drill Attack. The Conchfly drills straight down from the ceiling and pierces through the arena before reappearing inverted on the opposite side. Steam marks the exact spot where it will come out. The safest approach is to pick a side, dodge the first drill, and land a few quick hits before it fully burrows. Be ready to dodge again when it resurfaces, then punish with more strikes. Always track the steam to know where it will appear next.

It also uses a Thorn Projectile. The Conchfly hovers in place and spits out a thorn that bounces off the arena walls. The shot travels slowly, but it can trap you if ignored. Simply dodge the thorn, then rush in quickly to punish with Needle attacks before it moves again.

Its unique move is the Mini Conchflies summon. The boss calls in four smaller versions of itself that drill in coordinated patterns. Each one is telegraphed by steam, so staying alert is crucial. Watch the arena carefully, dodge in the gaps, and only strike back once the sequence ends to avoid getting clipped.

The fight against the Raging Conchfly is faster and more chaotic than its the Great Conchfly. Staying patient, reading the steam signals, and punishing only in safe openings will let you wear it down and eventually defeat this stronger boss.

Raging Conchfly Boss Attacks & Counters

Drill Attack

The Conchfly drills downward from the ceiling. After piercing through, it reappears on the opposite side of the arena, inverted from where it started. Steam marks the spot where it will emerge. Pick a safe side and dodge the first drill. Land quick hits before it fully goes through. Dodge again when it comes back up, then punish with more strikes. Always watch the steam for the next cue.

Thorn Projectile

The Conchfly hovers in place and shoots a thorn projectile that bounces off surfaces. The shot is slow but covers space if ignored. Dodge the thorn easily and then move in quickly to punish with Needle strikes.

Mini Conchflies

The boss summons four smaller Conchflies. They perform drill attacks in a coordinated sequence. Steam signals where each will appear. Stay alert and watch for the steam to predict their movements. Dodge carefully and look for safe openings before striking back.

Pain in the ass runback even with the 'shortcut.' Boss is pretty boring. Btw this page mentions to dodge the projectiles, but you can also hit them back at him for damage on it. That way worked better for me. Way too much hp for this boss with the reward just an, 'ah revenge' tool

For the people struggling with the parkour, there is a drill boulder on top of the bridge, make it fall and it will break the bridge. Then use the spawn near the bellway from the lower area

The runback, the platforming just to get here, the boss itself, just to get a damn tool. This game is sapping my will to live.

Is there a shortcut, or do I genuinely have to go through parkour hell just to get to the boss from the east bench?

Considering that this is - supposedly - the Conchfly that survived the Great Conchflies bossfight (which, you know, would explain why he's raging!), wouldn't it make sense if that dude just didn't show up if you didn't fight that other boss beforehand? Has anyone ever checked whether he shows up if you haven't killed his buddy?

Is this the one that survived the Great Conchflies fight? Maybe he's mad we killed his mate, considering how he yelled at us from the background as he ran away. It was sort of a "You won't get away with this!" kind of yell.

FYI, if you have Thread Storm, when he comes out of the ceiling to spit the projectiles, hitting him with it will also destroy the projectile.

If you stay by the right wall, the boss doesn't have a hitbox. He would never hit me drilling in and out of the wall or ground if I was hugging the right wall. Doesn't work for his drill projectiles or the minion projectiles.
