How to get Gravity Bolt
- Default skill on the Fallingstar Beast Jaw
Elden Ring Gravity Bolt Guide, Notes & Tips
- This is a Unique Skill
- FP Cost: 13 (-13)
- This Skill is not Chargeable
- The weapon skill: Gravity Bolt does mostly Physical Damage and some Magic Damage.
- Points invested in Strength and Dexterity increase the Physical Damage of Gravity Bolt, and Intelligence increases the Magic Damage of Gravity Bolt. The distribution of physical vs magic damage in this attack is such that Str and Dex investment affects this skill's damage more.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.08 the poise damage of the Gravity Bolt Weapon Art has been reduced.
AnonymousI thought about not saying anything, but I guess I will.
You can jump over this attack if the ground is flat, I have done this multiple times although it may be because when you jump you get a small burst of speed so I might've just been barely faster than it's tracking.
Poise damage needed to be nerfed, but it got down from 33 to 7, like 7?? On a colossal weapon! Ice spear deals 30~50% more damage than this for 2 more FP per cast while also applying 160 frostbite buildup and 25 poise damage, the downside being no chain cast. 15 poise damage would have been fine, or at least damage could have been buffed since its one of the few bullet-type skills that have split damage (and even require 3 stats to buff it).

AnonymousReminder that the scaling heavily favors strength and dexterity.

AnonymousYes, the poise damage was nerfed, but Gravity Bolt damage was not nerfed, so Fallingstar Beast Jaw is still amazing and you can clear most of the game with it alone.
1. Cheese the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast with Poison Mist to get the Fallingstar Beast Jaw.
2. Upgrade Fallingstar Beast Jaw with Somber smithing stones to 10.
3. You don't need more than 20 Int to use Fallingstar Beast Jaw, so focus on leveling up Str and Dex because Gravity Bolt is mostly Physical Damage.
4. Throw some levels into mind so you can spam Gravity Bolt.
5. Laugh as Gravity Bolt melts everything in your path.
AnonymousMuch worse than storm blade on a str build, disappointing.

AnonymousMagic-Shrouding Cracked Tear, Magic Scorpion Charm, and Spellblade Set increase the magic damage of this AOW.
However, applying all three these buffs increases the overall damage of this skill only by 7-8% because most of its damage is physical, not magical.

AnonymousWhat is best for optimizing the damage of the skill? weapon level? strength?

Anonymous
AnonymousDo I HAVE to have that amount of strength and dex to use the skill? The skill doesn't seem to be working for me

AnonymousThe damage solely scales of weapon upgrade level, not physical och magic

Anonymous
AnonymousWould a quality build benefit the most from this, given it's mostly physical damage at c/c scaling? Or is str/int more efficient

AnonymousHas a longer range than Flame of the Redmanes but functions a bit differently - it acts like a heavy attack. When used on enemies that are actively guarding, it simply wipes out their stamina but does not break their stance. Instead you have to quickly follow it up with another use before they have a chance to block and then they'll get stance-broken. This is in contrast to Redmanes which eventually breaks stance even when they're guarding. Definitely a good alternative though due to the longer range. Also this weapon just looks hilarious.

AnonymousWhile it claims to send a bolt down to foes and shove a spike of earth below them, it’s actually an invisible blast from the weapon to the target that causes the eruption on impact. Try to shoot someone with a wall in the way, even partial cover. Chances are the obstacle will block the attack and cause it to detonate prematurely and miss. Shooting from below and striking somthing on a higher platform doesn’t work since the platform will block the blast and cause it to detonate early. Best done with a clear line of sight or path to the target. I do not know if other enemies can function as obstacles, I always target the nearest foe first. Walls and floors can

AnonymousBest skill ever. Sure it sucks that you need a huge weapon but it adds to your poise so it’s worth it.

AnonymousMan I wish this was available as an Ash of War or Gravity Sorcery. I love me some Geomancy but Colossal Weapons really aren't my thing.

AnonymousIt's special is quick and great for spamming single targets. Works very well against bosses.

Mm, yes. I like having bolts of rocks sent down upon by head whilst trying to dodge the freaking Judgement Cut from Devil May Cry, and the 9999999999 magic rings as a invader that merely wants an honest battle.
