Anyone notice the Rolling Sparks aow on this does a small amount of damage while you're charging it? I've been farming the Troll's Gravepost grace Troll for Arteria Leaf (living that perfumer life), and the slight damage (poise damage?) can be enough to stagger him after getting a few legal hits on him. It happens with other enemies too, but **** that input-reading troll.

I actually think the damage is fine. What could use a buff is the poise damage against other players. Not being a able to stagger an opponent after a clean hit is just very unsatisfying.

Such a cool weapon. I have a DEX/FAI build that runs this in offhand with the Great Katana Lightning-infused mainhand -- he's a lightning-themed ninja who uses Ancient Dragon magic and katanas. The range isn't super impressive, but the damage is decent, and when you remember the damage is buffed the full 20% by the lightning tear and 12% by the lightning scorpion charm, things start to get more interesting. Plus, any area where it's raining or wet, you'll deal increased damage, on top of most enemies not resisting lightning much.

Not as bad as people make it to be. I beat putrescent knight and messmer with these with rolling spark. You just gotta have the right talismans, like the scorpion charms and perfumer's talisman

I called this weapon out for having terrible damage and people said "nuh uh, this one ash of war that's clearly doing more damage than intended is instakilling bosses therefore the entire weapon must be good!"

I haven't seen a single person dumb enough to use these since that ash of war got fixed. The weapon itself was bad since day 1 but leaned on the aow as a crutch. These need a significant buff.

If you know how to stack multipliers, this things pure damage can actually make it a monster if you spec for it properly. Frostbite, Flowerstone Gavel WA, Lightning Shroud, Perfume Talisman, Lightning Sting + the usual buffs make this thing hit like a truck. You also get a 10% damage bonus if they're wet and all of that multiplicative scaling skyrockets the damage because none of it is split damage. There's more talismans and buffs you can apply to make these shred if you use your noodle.

The lack of stagger really sucks on perfume bottles. I was hoping the DLC would give us a close range lightning incantation with a fast cast time, and we got this instead which I suppose is the next best thing, but these things still need help as do many other things.

Without the exploit, it's much more obvious that all perfumes need buffs.


These barely stagger, have deceptively poor range, and come out pretty slow. You're basically down 1 talisman slot, just to still have subpar damage. Despite being
paired weapons, they can't benefit off any multihit buffs.


The only real advantage is aoe, but the lack of any real stagger means you'll get beat up by a group anyways.

This weapon does more damage one handed than 2 handed. Testing on soldiers in liurnia at lvl 33 with min stats. It does 106 damage one handed and 94 damage 2 handed with light attacks. Something is definitely off here.

Dual wield motions values appear to be bugged on this bottle

The fire bottle deals quite a bit more damage dual wielding, but this bottle deals roughly the same amount 1h vs dual wield IF both streams hit, so it's very possible to do less damage dual wielding than 1h if one stream misses

Why does it say, that the bottle scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity and Faith, if it says in the box on the right, that the bottle doesn't scale with Strength at all?

I kept using the Perfume Bottles with Rolling Spark Ash of War after the patch to see if it is still playable. In terms of PvE, the Ash of War is still useful in boss fights, particularly with big bosses. However, never aim to the ground because now the Ash of War go through the floor, thus not permitting the stacked damage. The normal attacks are unchanged so they're good for inflicting elemental damage to a single or group of enemies, problem is they don't cause much poise damage so some enemies will still attack you while spreading the attack. Can't say much about PvP as I only tested it on Coop, but like I said it's good for big boss fights.

Honestly though this weapon kind of deserved the nerf, the ash of war made pve kind of stupid and uninteresting. idk if I would've made only one hitbox active though if aimed at the ground, I would've just done 25%-50% less damage if aimed at the ground, but that's just my take.

Literally still works the same, they just removed the bug exploit where manually aiming at the ground detonates all sparks at once. Against large bosses and crowds it still shreds.

Aim up or straight, works still on bigger enemies. Fast small enemies get no dmg from it basically, also do not hit any wall or floor with it.

Keep in mind that this was bug fixed not a nerf. Rolling sparks when cast on the ground causing all the explosions happen in one area at once. Now it has been changed so only a couple will happen. Using rolling sparks normally will still pump out insane numbers for larger bosses.

Well, the nerf came and this thing went from pretty good and fun to use to just absolute dog-water. Now despite being caught in a cloud of the stuff, most of the hits don't register on bigger bosses even when you're not trying to use the cheese strat and use it normally.

I own furnace golem with this and rolling spark with shard of alexander and perform talisman. u can take down any one in couple hit lol, you technically dont need anything else in the game. summon a dummy and spam rolling spark, watch them melt. nerf incoming

easily melts the final boss with the proper talismans/equipment. Killed the boss in 1 minute with this (not a speedrunner/pro) just spam it on the ground and heal when needed. That is without summons/ ashes.

Don’t listen to the location directions given in this Wiki. Ehile the spot is correct, they listed a terrible way of getting there. Instead, the best way to get it is to start at the “Ellac River Downstream” grace and head south to the edge of the cliff, then parkour your way down the rocks. Once you reach the bottom head Southeast to the small pond and it’ll be in a corpse.

Everyone's so focused on Rolling Sparks being cooked that they can't see how insane the running R2's on the perfumes are for larger bosses. I managed like 3000-4000 damage in a single one on the Dancing Lion with a few buffs. Kinda wacky wild if you ask me.

Must be the neweset OP build. I killed Messmer NG+3 with Rolling Sparks AOE in seconds. It dealed ~24k damage with one hit and 14 skippidy tree buffs.

So I have 3 perfume bottles so far. Lightning ,fire and poison. On the fire and lightning it lets me use an ash of war. Does anyone else see this or did I get a special pair ? Ash of war (Wall of Sparks) works great with these. Please let me know if you guys know of other ashes that work with them.

you can infuse the weapon with AOW, just need to find the two of them dedicate to the perfume bottle weapon, it dosent change the element or scalling, but give you another move than "kick"
