Dark Moon Ring is a Key Item in Elden Ring. Dark Moon Ring is required to finish Ranni's quest. Key Items in Elden Ring include a wide variety of items found in specific locations or are given by a related NPCs which are used to unlock areas, quests, and to further progress the game's story.

Symbolic of a cold oath,
the ring is supposed to be given by Lunar Princess Ranni to her consort.
Ranni is an Empyrean, meaning her consort would by rights earn the title of lord.
A warning is engraved within;
"Whoever thou mayest be,
take not the ring from this place,
the solitude beyond the night is better mine alone."
Where to find Dark Moon Ring in Elden Ring
- Found in a locked chest next to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace - which is available after you defeat Rennala. Unlocked using the Discarded Palace Key.
Elden Ring Dark Moon Ring Use
- Dark Moon Ring allows passage through an otherwise sealed pathway behind Astel Naturalborn of the Void, leading towards the Cathedral of Manus Celes. Can be used on Ranni's body in the Cathedral of Manus Celes to finish her questline and receive the Dark Moon Greatsword.
