Cathedral of Manus Celes is a Location in Elden Ring. The Cathedral of Manus Celes is found at the Moonlight Altar plateau, high above in the southwest Liurnia of the Lakes. The Moonlight Altar is accessible only after making significant progress in Ranni's questline, including defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void in the Grand Cloister and gaining access to the lift in the Deep Ainsel Well, which leads up to the plateau. Players can reach the Cathedral of Manus Celes by heading northeast from the Moonlight Altar site of grace.

Cathedral of Manus Celes Walkthrough

Regardless of whether the player fought the Glintstone Dragon Adula at the Three Sisters sub-region in the north or not, it will be present at this location. It will be found guarding the fields leading up to the Cathedral of Manus Celes and can finally be killed at this location. Adula drops 3 Dragon Hearts and the Adula's Moonblade sorcery spell upon defeat, as well as 120000 Runes.

Inside the Cathedral, you will find a total of 9 Starlight Shards scattered across the Cathedral proper. One more can be found outside in the north, by the large stone monument. There is a Site of Grace in the center of the Cathedral.

Look towards the south for a cave amongst the rubble.

Drop down into the cave and follow the linear path to find the body of Ranni sitting on the remains of the Fingers.

Approach the body and there will be a prompt for you to place the Dark Moon Ring on her finger, initiating a cutscene.

Afterwards, Ranni, now fully freed will appear before you. She will confirm that you are now her consort, and promises that you will meet again. She awards you the Dark Moon Greatsword before disappearing.

This will give the player the option of completing the "Age of the Stars" ending at the end of the game.

• Manus Celes roughly translates to "Celestial Hand" or "Hidden Hand" in Latin. This is most likely a reference towards the Two Finger resting inside it and the ones whom Ranni killed using the Fingerslayer Blade. Which was provided to her in the quest directly before the events that led the Tarnished towards the Cathedral of Manus Celes.
• With the many signs of conflict between the Greater Will and Ranni through out her questline. Specifically the line "I stole Death long ago, and search now for the dark path." in her participation in the Night of Black Knives or the Baleful Shadows that the Tarnished fights if they continue to assist Ranni. The events of the Cathedral of Manus Celes is the culmination of that personal rebellion Ranni seeks. The dead body of the Two Finger assigned to her, drenched in its blood with the Fingerslayer Blade used is her personal action and statement of rebellion. Something that isn't her usual plans and manipulations she has been doing through out her quest.
• Adula, the dragon whom the Tarnished will fight here in the Cathedral of Manus Celes has long been a main stay in Ranni's retinue. The description of Adula's Moonblade says "Adula, a devourer of sorcerers, was bested by Ranni and subsequently swore a knightly oath to her Dark Moon." Signifying the Adula of today serves Ranni quite faithfully. Though there is no clear explanation why Adula fights the Tarnished in the Cathedral of Manus Celes. One can argue this is the final test Adula has over the tarnished to replace them as Ranni's main protector. Or it could simply be them being overprotective as Ranni has just recently discarded their physical body.
