Returning Pike is one of the Pike Weapons in Baldur's Gate 3. Returning Pike is a magical weapon that returns to its user when thrown. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc.). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain special Actions while holding it.
A 'Crazy Wilbur' is a technique invented by the dwarvish Ticklebeard Clan. It involves getting your larger enemies to swallow your weapon, then calling it back to you - as messily as possible.

AnonymousPlaying honor mode and sometimes it doesn't ****ing return and gets lost in the mess or disappears I have exactly ZERO shame in task managing the game and reloading.
"Just roll with it" is a fine sentiment if the rules are all laid out and will work consistently.

AnonymousHas both Returning Pike and Nyrulna.
Has both Great Weapon Master and Tavern Brawler.
Equip one, throw the other not equipped, get all bonuses, profit!
Anonymousi love when i throw this and it doesn't return feels great.

AnonymousI noticed it occasionally deals damage two times per throw; the initial hit and then crushing damage.

AnonymousKeep in mind that you throw in an arc and it returns in a straight line, it can and will remain in the target if it does not have a clear line to return

AnonymousPoeple who missed out and still want this item for early throwing builds.

AnonymousOkay, so it's annoying that this thing replaces your equipped weapon/shield when it returns. But, this is an excellent early weapon for Karlach or a barbarian Tav with enraged throw, who can get a ton of utility out of it as a primary weapon. With 1d10 damage and +1 enchantment it's stronger than a javelin, you get an extra melee or throw attack as a bonus action when you're raging, and you don't have to pick it up to use it again. While there are stronger weapons to use enraged throw with, this thing completely streamlines your melee and ranged damage, which I just think is neat. I love that my Karlach at level 6 can make any combination of 3 melee and ranged attacks with the same weapon and always be threatening with a melee weapon when she's done, unlike classes that might prefer bows for range.

AnonymousA downside to this weapon is that it replaces whatever is equipped in your character's hands, rather than just returning to your inventory. So unless this is your main weapon, it's effect will be more bothersome than helpful.

I noticed a problem when killing with a throwing weapon - Returning Pike, sometimes they don't give experience. As I understand it, this is because when throwing from a height, you get two types of damage, one from the throw and the other directly from the weapon that we throw. As a result, I see the inscription weapon such and such caused fatal damage and they don't give experience, because it seems like you didn't kill the enemy, but the weapon that fell on him. You have to load and re-throw. Has anyone encountered this and how can I solve this problem? It's just that if you play on valor, you won't be able to load there.
