Magical Hand Crossbow is a powerful hand crossbow that allows you to make a melee attack with your reaction when shooting an enemy at close range. In BG3, each type of weapon has different ranges, damages, and other features (Finesse, Versatile, Dippable, etc.). Characters need to master certain Proficiency before using a weapon, and sometimes gain special Actions while holding it.
The string of this crossbow, secured tightly against the stock, came from the lyre of a powerful bard who gave up his days as a magical minstrel for a more ascetic life.

AnonymousI found this via the all items mod and equipped it without realizing it was not actually made available in the full release. Cunning Combo gets prompted but not executed, it's either bugged or just not implemented. I suspect the issue might be that when you're shooting a ranged weapon you don't actually have your melee weapon out. I can't think of any other ability that attempts to seamlessly switch between your melee and ranged weapons load out so they have run into an issue there.

spawned the item in via cheats and it definitely seems to be broken, the reaction attack seems to happen regardless of distance from the enemy and does not actually consume or prompt a reaction. I have found that it rarely works as intended but this one was likely left out because they were unable to get it to work in time, A shame because a dual xbow rogue/fighter would really like using this alongside duelist’s prerogative =/

Anyone have any idea where to find this? Or if there are any other +2 hand crossbows besides hellfire?
now i know why this wasnt released, still bugged. i was wondering why one attack of my astarion does a lot of damage and the luck of the far realm prompt keeps appearing even if he was not shooting anymore then i noticed he was doing melee attacks from far away and somehow it was still hitting the enemy. very broken especially when you have a crit build and many target arrows
